Cianfrani is regarded by many Georgetownians as a coffee institution, their go-to place. You cant really blame them. After all, there are very few options for good coffee in Georgetown and Cianfrani is conveniently located on Town Square. Location doesnt make it any better however... I went to Cianfrani a total of two times, at least a month apart, once with family and once with a client. On both occasions, my latte was botched. The first time it was so boiling hot that I had to wait a full 15 minutes to be able drink it. The melange tasted like burnt crap, and my coffee cup bit the dust prematurely, falling into the depths of a nearby trash bin, half-full (or half-empty, if youre a pessimist). The family members who was accompanying me at the time admitted they were not super thrilled by their coffee either. The second time wasnt any better; while the latte didnt threaten to leave my whole mouth blistered, it tasted like a warm watered down mess. This second cup was disposed off quickly as well. The client who was with me at the time noticed her filtered coffee was served to her at room temperature. Im often willing to give a second chance to restaurants and cafes that disappoint me. Making a good latte is an art, and I always consider it might just be the barista who is having a bad coffee day. But Cianfrani failed me, failed my clients, and failed my family - twice. Thats a heavy burden to carry, and one I cannot forgive. Cianfrani does not know how to make a good coffee and I look forward to the day Georgetownians will increase their culinary standards and welcome a real craft coffee shop in their town.

I try to avoid going to the chain coffee places. However, after my experience this week, I wont be going back. Walked up to the counter with my friend and there were two women behind the counter. Both completely ignored us while doing other "stuff". The first was adding cash into the register. The second was studiously avoiding eye contact with both of us. All while standing less than two feet from us. After a couple of minutes cooling our heels I ask "do we need to order from someone else?". The younger girl answers "just a minute". No apology. No "so sorry I hadnt noticed you". We wait another minute and so I tell my buddy "Im going to skip coffee and just have a seat". At that point I would have ordered if she had providing any help but she continued to ignore us. Its obvious these folks dont care about their customers. I worked retail a long time and it is pretty clear they have nothing but disdain for the people paying their salaries. I wrote this same review on their website asking for comments in hopes of at least hearing back. But no, their management apparently doesnt care about customers either.

Coffee shop or zoo? Here, youve got both. Coffee is okay, tea selection is good, layout is poorly planned, and soccer moms toting multiples galore. Dont expect a quiet, nor private place nook to work. Definitely for the Sun City socials and screaming kids with sirens on their electronic toys. The Square is a great asset to Georgetown, but I would suggest you stop by a different coffee shop before you come if youre looking for ambiance, good drinks, friendly staff, and well-planned space. As much as it pains me to support Starbucks, theyve got the business figured out. Cianfranis feels more like a bad local diner with its mediocre food & drink offerings and a noise level that leaves something to be desired. Buy local...somewhere else.

Disclaimer - I am not a coffee connoisseur. I have only had mochas here. The atmosphere is great, good music, fun staff. My drinks are always good, and the price is about what you expect from coffee places these days. Watching the people who go in and out is my favorite part. Theres newspapers with the crosswords still empty, comfortable seating, etc. The two downsides are sometimes the wait can be long - their business is really sporadic Ive noticed so I cant blame them for this though. The other downside is I really wish they were open more evenings, although I guess they have their reasons for not doing so.

I previously gave this coffee shop a negative review, but was compelled to change it after my most recent visit. Theyve made a lot of positive changes, and I really enjoyed myself. They have a range of coffee drinks, brewed coffees, and desserts from Russells Bakery (must try the cinnamon roll). My only complaint is that they dont have whole milk. It seems they’ve forgone the bare necessities in favor of fancy nut milks. Maybe Im just late to the nut milk party, but I truly cherish a well-made whole milk latte.

Yesterday my roommate and I visited the square for the first time. I was poetry happy to see the coffee shop. Seeing as I had never been here before, I wasnt sure what I wanted. I told the guy working the counter I had never been there before. He didnt make any suggestions, was inpatient and not in the least bit helpful. So to him, I say the thing to have done would have been to welcome me and offer suggestions. My last suggestion, show your customers youre happy they came in!

My husband visited this shop today at 10:30 a.m. He purchased his coffee at the counter, they took his money and gave him a cup to fill. When he went to the dispensers, they were empty. Finally, he managed to barely get a tiny amount out of one of the dispensers - it was only a swallows worth; and it was cold and not the flavor he desired. There was no one to be found to offer him a fresh FULL cup of coffee, nor refund his money - wont be going there again!

Hands down the best coffee in Georgetown!!! This place puts S.bucks to shame in not only the quality and taste of the drinks, but in the service as well! The employees are always friendly and having fun, they roast their own coffee IN the store (How cool is that?!?) and they even have pastries and parfaits :) My favorite drink is a Polar Bear, blended (Frappuccino), and usually a yogurt parfait as well. Delicious!! And not bad prices either :)

I only lived in Georgetown for a view months but every time I go back I have to visit Cianfrani and get a cup of coffee. Their lattes are delicious and the perfect blend of sweet/flavorful. This is the real deal... Its not some sugary syrup with a bit of coffee. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the perfect place to read, do homework, draw, etc... They have live music and keep local art on the walls.

It has to have, by far, the best mocha I have had in a long long time. The staff is really friendly, professional and fun to interact with. The coffee is good and reasonably priced. Their Madeleines are really good (It was my first time having one, but I am definitely going back for more). The place is really clean and cozy and offers a quiet non-intrusive environment for you to sit around.

Waited at the counter (only ones in line) for several minutes without being acknowledged. Staff was too busy talking to a friend; left without ordering. This was after visiting the previous evening and having a wonderful experience, with attentive and helpful staff serving some of the best drinks Ive had. The drinks are great, the morning staff - not so much.
