I actually kind of agree with the one star review in that the cupcakes were dry. I went in a couple weeks ago for the first time and here was my impression: a very cute little store, friendly employees, and good reviews from the diners that were in the store. A semi-decent selection. We got six cupcakes - vanilla, chocolate, strawberry (suggested by a diner), italian cream, red velvet, and lemon. For the most part they were pretty good. The lemon was a little bland, and the strawberry and italian cream were a little dry. The red velvet was my absolute favorite. The only thing I disagree with is the prices. I know what it takes to run a bakery like that, and so I can understand why the prices would be a little higher (2.50 per cake, 2.75 for I.C. cake), but my dispute is that they werent anything spectacular. Yes, they were good, but for the price of one cake I could make a dozen just as good or better at home. Im not a disgruntled former employee, nor am I competition at another bakery. I like to support small businesses, so I would probably go back for the red velvet cupcakes if I got a craving, or to try one of their interesting flavors. The strawberry seems like it would be good too, if it were a little more moist. Not a five star bakery, but still pretty good nonetheless.

I can honestly say, if you enjoy healthy, hearty, thickness & old fashion recipe, crunchy on the outside & SOFT middle- "just the right fluffyness" type of bread, this man, Ike Thorpe pours his heart into it. You have to try at least one of everything here. I suggest you split a cream filled cannolli. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO RICH! AMBIANCE: Free Wi-Fi for customers, indoor area, outdoor patio seating, hip, comfortable, cozy chic. The bakery is awesome!

I went to this shop to support "small business" and was highly disappointed. I purchased a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting, 2 Mocha cupcakes, and a Jack and Coke cupcake. #1 The cupcakes are TINY. Not even a gourmet bakery size cupcake, we are talking the same size as the cupcake tin you have at home; and I was not looking for a "muffin size" cupcake you get at the club stores either! #2 The frosting on the cupcake was a simple swirl out of a piping bag...my seven year old could do it! It had no flavor, was gritty, and barely held its shape! #3 The actual cake part was dry (for all four so this could not have been a fluke)! As if it was sitting in the case for longer than a week (which would explain the problem with the frosting). I could have gone down the street to the grocery store; bought a cupcake almost twice the size, decorated by a professional, and fresher for half the price of the junk I bought! DO NOTwaste your money at Galaxy Cupcakes!!!

This place is a frigging joke!!! This is my first review ever, and I really felt compelled to share our story, and that I am not up tight and very laid back. We used them for our wedding last year, and the cakes barely made it to the ceremony first of all. Then we were over charged. We designed a nice cake for my wifes, and it was not completed, and not what we ordered, yet we were charged the same. They had one of the old employees escorted out by the police when we were in the process of trying getting some of our money back. Then, just a few days ago, we had a contract as part of our mishap for a free anniversary cake. Apparently it is under new ownership, and they dont honor any old agreements, yet the business name is still the same. Either way, both owners were just absolutely horrible when it came to customer service, the most important part of a well run establishment. I would urge anyone to avoid using this bakery at all costs! Stay away!

Oh my! I walked in with a pretty ridiculous request, I will admit. I said, I need something lemon and I need them now! I had obviously not thought through my step moms bday but Galaxy Bakery came through in less than 2 seconds. The awesome gentleman at the counter pointed to the lemon cupcakes, I said, "Ill take them all" and I was off. Well, hours later, not knowing what to expect, I bit into this golden delicious lemon cupcake and my eyes went white! This was the BEST lemon cupcake I have EVER bitten into, and I have experience with lemony goodness. I am savoring every bite of this lemon cupcake and honestly, Im going back tomorrow to find out the other treasure troves they have. I was very impressed at how nice and accommodating the owners were. Seriously Galaxy, why are you SO GOOD?!

This little bakery is so cute! I have gotten just a few cupcakes before for the people in my husbands office and for girlfriends and they have been sooo delicious! The chocolate/chocolate is AMAZING! Icing is never my favorite on cakes and I usually scrape most of it off but the icing is so light and fluffy and so chocolatey that I eat all of it! I have always been very impressed by the flavor and quality of the cupcakes here so I bought a dozen or so for my moms 58th birthday and she absolutely loved them! Galaxy cupcakes are adorable and delicious and I love that Georgetown has a cupcake place to get that quick fix! Yum!

I ordered a birthday cake on a Wednesday to pick up on Saturday - and it was ready early. I texted them a picture of something I liked that was similar to what I wanted. I talked with them later about the picture to clarify that I wanted pink buttercream and no fondant, roses, and "glitter" sugar, and stressed that something similar to it would be great and that I would leave the rest up to the decorator. It turned out beautifully. It is a tall cake, which I didnt expect, but I like it. Make sure you have room in your fridge! It wasnt cheap, but worth it for a very pretty cake - will make for a very special celebration.

The baked goods are delicious, however we will not be returning. My husband and I stopped by recently to pick up cookies & coffee, we were the only customers there too and we were seen right when we walked in, an older lady and young kid even made eye contact w/us. There was about 3-4 people working in the kitchen and it took more than a few minutes to help us. I also emailed them recently to get an estimate on a custom birthday cake and never heard back from anyone. Very disappointed.

Dont pay attention to the 1-star review. It sounds like a disgruntled former employee. My company ordered cupcakes for a Texas Independence Day open house and realized we ordered three times too many for how many people were on the guest list. "Too many." Guests were eating 2 or 3 and fighting to take them home at the end of the night. The cupcakes were fantastic! We order cupcakes from Galaxy all the time and theyre always great!
