I just bought fabric from the cloth pocket. I thought I was getting several yards of a variety of different fabrics for a good deal. However the unit of measure they use to sell fabric, is a 1/4 of a yard. I totally missed that when I hit the purchase button. It turns out, I bought really expensive scraps. After looking back at the site, they do state they sell "all fabric sold by 1/4 yards", so my error was my fault. I own that. However, I totally disagree with their business decision to sell in 1/4 yard, because it is deceiving to the online customer, because of typical online shopping experience and customer behavior. I myself am a marketer, and have recognized a bad model here. Typically, when a customer adds "quantity 1" of a fabric to their online shopping cart, that "quantity of 1" equals 1 yard. I feel the marketing/pricing strategy this store uses of selling fabric in 1/4 yard = 1 is deceptive to the customer. My recommendation would be to highlight this pricing model by making this disclaimer a different color on the site (red text perhaps?). Make this stand out from the other written clutter. The way it is currently stated on the site it blends in with other verbiage.

Holy crap this place is rad. So first things first. I wandered into their old location about a year ago with a singular purpose... I wanted a cape for my dog (dont judge). I chat with the fantastic ladies there, they point me to a seamstress I buy some fabric... viola! My dog has a dope cape. (The G stands for George Michael). So anyway, about a month ago I realize that my dog doesnt have any stylish bandannas and I was all like "Dude, you gotta get on that. People are gonna judge you"... so... I go to their AWESOME new location and end up signing up for a class where... you guessed it... these brilliant Goddesses of Needle and Thread teach me to make my dogs fashion garments. Dont believe me? Check the dang pictures! I never thought I would ever have a favorite fabric shop... but I do.. .and The Cloth Pocket is it. Dont be a chump get your butts in there!

They have an amazing selection of fabrics. Theres something in there for everyone! Melissa(Sorry if Im spelling it wrong or if its not even your name for that matter, the nice lady with the chest piece!) was CRAZY HELPFUL. She helped me figure out what size of fabric I needed and even showed me some nice color ideas for my room. She super down to earth too; shes definitely the right person to go to when going there. I love that they even have little pieces of fabrics that you can get even if you just want a small piece or wanna get just to use as a sample. Cant wait to go back for my new project!

This place has the most unique fabric!! The ladies that work there are so friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend going to any of their events and getting to know them. If youre looking for some unique fabric, this is your place. When I learned that they have their entire inventory online, I about passed out. Praise be!! Every single person that uses fabric as a medium needs to know about this place.

I am a quilting instructor and fabric designer, and this is my favorite fabric shop in Austin! The team there is alway so friendly, helpful, and generous-- always such a wonderful experience! The selection is incredible-- your jaw will drop with all the fabric gorgeousness. They have a ton of quilting-weight cotton, chambray, knits, voile, laminated fabric, even faux leather and stretchy lace! Run, dont walk.

Really cute selection of fabrics! However, the customer service is so blah. My friend called to see if they had a specific fabric type and the woman told her to "just come in and look yourself." Not to mention the other times I have gone in and the staff is either too concerned with their own project or just generally rude/doesnt care that customers are in the shop such as being on their phone ect.

I dont know much about fabric, but the lady that was there was very helpful in picking out the perfect fabric for my project. I took awhile deciding and she was patient, insightful, and told me the pros and cons of each choicI had made. I really appreciated the information, and highly suggest if youre looking for some help in your project, to check this place out first!

Fantastic local shop with a completely unique selection of fabrics - So refreshing to find a fabric store that doesnt just offer the same thing over and over. Plus, they offer discounts if you tag them in a photo of your finished project or bring it into the store to show them! An amazing shop with fantastic service!

Worst customer service ever!! I dont think Ive Never have I spent nearly $200 & had 2 ask for a bag only 2 be handed the bag and expected 2 bag it myself. If I hadnt driven from Houston with cutesy fabric on my mind I would have left it all on general principle. Very disappointing experience. Shop online if at all!!

The Cloth Pocket rocks. Their fabulous curation of fabric - including their selection of uber hip contemporary designs and patterns - is one of the best in the area. Very cutting edge, chic and also a little something for everyone. Austin is lucky to have this wonderful resource!

Great selection of younique fabric, however all fabric is very pricey! Nothing is less than $12per yard, it goes up from there. Kind of bummed, but cool fabric!

Adorable shop and sweet people. Unusual fabric patterns and even vinyl. Like that I can find stuff here that wont be at the big chain stores. Shop local!
