I got the pleasure of trying out the cupping class and the barista training class that proved the time and investment. As a coffee enthusiasts, I thought I knew a pretty good deal of coffee history and tasting notes, but both of these classes proved me otherwise! Not only was I able to learn about the many varieties of coffee from roasters around the world based on their season, region, and simply unique makeup based on the year! The coffee cupping class was not only informative, but also a lot of fun meeting fellow coffee lovers and getting extra caffeinated together as we sipped on each brew and chose our favorites based on their specific flavors and overall quality. The baristas training class I found to be the most eye-opening. This two day course was a well-rounded experience as I was able to truly get a hands on approach to many different behind the bar skills, such as navigating my way around an espresso machine, knowing the quality of a good shot, and how to make all the fancy drink orders youd find in any well to-do coffee shop. I found myself going home to tell my friends and family that they need to rethink their coffee methods as I just discovered the truth about truly quality coffee and just how its meant to be grown, packaged, taken care of, grinded, brewed, poured, and served. Not only did I leave the Texas Coffee school well caffeinated, but also well trained to take on my favorite coffee shops and producers as a better consumer and overall advocate for the craft. I would say these classes are vital for any barista-to-be or simply the home and coffee shop hopper like me thats looking to take their coffee love to the next level.

My husband and I had an excellent experience at Texas Coffee school. Their passion for the coffee industry is easy to see which made the time fly by. The biggest thing we appreciated was their honestly about factors to consider when seriously thinking about opening a business. They did not sugar coat the facts and gave us helpful outlines to consider when working with lawyers, real estate agents, and banks. We appreciated their extremely high standard for quality and consistency when it comes to preparing coffee & selecting beans. The staff was very down to earth and helped answer all of the questions we had. We would definitely recommend the course to a friend. If you are seriously considering opening a coffee shop, this will be the best investment you could make before getting started.

The training we received was outstanding and exceeded our expectations in every way. We are so glad we attend The Texas Coffee School and would highly recommend the training to anyone seriously considering opening a Coffee Shop. The owner of the school, Tom, has created an impressive system to follow that has a proven track record of success. Our Coffee Educator, Clair, was extremely knowledgeable and we learned how to evaluate a baristas ability to make hiring decisions.

Highly informative and incredibly detailed 3 day Coffee Business Class. Hands on training and experimenting. Every question you may have has probably already been answered and included in Toms Course/Materials. If you are thinking about opening a coffee shop or adding a coffee operation to an existing business, you would be wise to take this class.

Tom is very knowledgeable about the correct way to make and serve coffee but also about opening a coffee shop. I took his 3 day class and he provides valuable insights for starting a coffee business not only during class, but the documents he sends you home with. Texas Coffee School is a valuable resource for baristas and entrepreneurs.
