We had a girl yorkie and she passed away with cancer. We were looking for another male yorkie and we searched the area and found this store. We called several times and I asked on multiple occasions how much the parents weighed, if there where any restrictions for the pups or if we would have full right in case we wanted to breed. We where told no limitations so we could breed. I understand a lot of people neuter and spay their animal as I have also done this but I specifically asked this question before spending 1000.00. We have taken Lucian to the vet for exams, shots, etc. everyone missed that he was his genetic issue but the original vet did. My pup started throwing up and I took him to a new vet and he was diagnosed with Cryptorchidism which is where one or both of the tesicles dont descend. We where told the we should not breed him due to this is a genetic trait in the family lines. We where also told that he would be at a high risk for cancer. So for the well being of our family member we neutered him today. I called the pet store to explain what had transpired and the employee got the manager. She told me that she was unaware of the breeder having any issues with this genetic disease and that they dont sell their pups for breeding they sell them for pets. Again I specifically asked on more than 5 calls to the pet store and other questions if we could and were told yes. I find it really hard to believe that the breeder or the store hasnt had this issue before especially since now I have had not one but two vets tell me yes it is genetic. We finally got our baby girl to breed when she is older but now we wont be able to with Lucian. We will have to purchase another male dog and I can guarantee you it will not come from a pet store but only from the AKC or CKC website where we deal directly with the breeder. PS I also had the breeders email on the CKC papers and emailed her on funny she hasnt responded. I wonder why. Genetic trait and not disclosing it to customers.

DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE LISTENING TO THE STAFF!! I am disappointed in the lack of knowledge the staff has about their animals. This is the third kitten I have gotten from Animal City and up until now I had confidence in this place. The staff was very unorganized this time. One girl would say the kitten had his shots while the other would say otherwise. I got my kitten last Saturday 8/22/2015. They gave me what they called a standard treatment of medicine to help prevent diarrhea from the stress of moving to a new home. They gave me exactly 10 days worth of it. Yesterday (8/31/2015) I had to take my kitten to the vet because he had major diarrhea. He would go anywhere from 8-10 times a day and would get it all over himself. I brought the medicine they gave me to the vet and they told me it was actually an antibiotic. They said it should have only been given to a cat that already had diarrhea or to get rid of worms. Since I had been giving it to him once a day as instructed by Animal City, it killed all the good bacteria in his belly and actually gave him this horrible diarrhea. They prescribed me a pro biotic to counteract it. I feel so bad for this little 9 week old kitten! THEY SHOULD NOT BE SENDING PEOPLE HOME WITH ANTIBIOTICS UNLESS THEY ARE CERTIFIED VETS!! This is wrong. On top of that, they told me I needed to continue feeding him the food that hes been on which was Taste of the Wild. The vet actually said that its NO GOOD FOR KITTENS!! They said that kittens need a KITTEN FORMULA to help them grow and to ensure they have all their nutrition. Taste of the Wild is a very high quality cat food and does wonders for adult cats. But is not suitable for kittens. All said and done... I paid $104 to Animal City to adopt the kitten and wound up having to pay another $80 to take him to the vet a week later because the staff has NO CLUE!

Very kind and understanding unless you came in at the wrong time and the front desk chick at that point is very very very RUDE, SNAPPY, BITCHY which before you have a front desks job or any job at that you are told to be professional, meaning leave your problems at home and your attitude. We dont come in to catch your attitude and could careless because we are their to take care of our animals not our animals then put up with negativity . If you cant get it together then you dont need to work their much less at the front desk, and secondly if its that bad go seek help out side of work ... other then that everyone else was great, funny, sweet and very caring and non judge mental. If customers wanted to be judged, talked about we would tell you . So put a zipper on your mouths , judge and talk about your selfs Im sure theirs plenty to gossip about because people like that have serious serious problems with them selves . If a change isnt made in time you will lose your business , theirs plenty of other clinics that can help. So Im sure everyone one would appreciate the front desk lady with blonde hair would drop the attitude, and stop talking trash , because as I said we did not come their for that crap. Thank you for your time and hopefully the corrections and hopefully everyone I know who comes in their want have anymore problems w front desk, nor myself and if their is all of us who got an attitude from the front desk want mind coming in to voice our opinions . Thank you for your time and efforts!

Very rude. Had a group of intellectual disabled people who are highly functioned. They asked to hold the dog one person held a dog while the rude employee stood with them hand over as well. Another peraon wanted to hold one and the MANAGER insisted that I held the dog instead. Ill NEVER return here again. Nasty parking lot as well. Very trashy/nasty attitudes from all staff and discriminative against the mentally challenged. PITIFUL! This is in response to the owner. First of all, my deplorable (dismayed) behavior was solely based off of how THEY were treated. Secondly, if you knew Journeys oh so well then the GRATITUDE should have been more expressive. You all should have been more HOSPITABLE THAN YOU WERE. I wont tolerate the disrespect because they only wanted to hold the little puppy. Fragile or not, when the other little girl held him with NO ASSISTANCE then it shouldnt have been a problem for YOUR JOURNEY FRIENDS TO HOLD THE LITTLE PUPPY WITH ANY ASSISTANCE. I wasnt the one who asked, YOUR JOURNEY FROENDS WERE. And whoever you are, for you to be an owner of a business, I can clearly see where your rude and decisive employees get their NASTY attitude from. The Bible says train up a child. So how about you TRAIN UP YOUR EMPLOYEES AND WHEN YOURE DEPARTED FROM THEM, THEYLL HAVE SOME TRAINING.

Ive known the owners practically all my life and you could not find anyone who cares about animals more than these people. They are extremely knowledgeable and as a bird lover you can rest assured that the bird you purchase from them is a lovingly and legally bred bird, not like other stores who will acquire illegal birds smuggled into the country to cut costs. My meyers parrot was bonded with my little parakeet who just died, so Im getting another parakeet from them. Not only were they the only ones in town that had the particular parakeet I was looking for, but they were able to tell me the approximate hatch date as well. My poor parakeet that died was purchased from a different store with dismal bird keeping practices. They fed the birds with hamster water feeders, so the poor parakeet never really learned how to drink water normally. I feel this is what led to its death. Please research and be careful where you buy your birds. There are so many others who do not show the care and expertise that they do at Animal City, and with birds it really does matter.
