Edit: Please do not take your precious jewelry here. 2 years later and I am still working on getting fixed the problems caused at this store. When I took my ring in to get fixed, they replaced the platinum with white gold without telling me. After a few months I realized this through the difference in color with the metals. They then took out the gold and put the platinum back. After leaving a reputable jewler, I have to get a completely new setting. They left particles of white gold in my ring and did a terrible job. I have now been to 3 different jewler who have all agreed that they do not see how my ring passed inspection here and was given back to the customer in this condition. After my complaint, the owner contacted me the very next morning and set me up with an immediate appointment with one of his best stone setters. Within 30 minutes, the jeweler looked at my ring and corrected the problem so it will hopefully not become loose anytime soon. He apologized for what had happened and the experience I had the previous evening at his store. Previous comment - I had a terrible experience today at this jewelers, and needless to say, I will not be back. About 3 weeks ago, I had taken in my engagement ring in to have the main diamond tightened because it was loose. This is a very special diamond since it belonged to my husbands mother before she passed away from cancer. Well now, 3 weeks later the diamond was more loose than it was when I initially took it in. I was nervous that it was loose enough to where I would loose the diamond, so I took it back in. After explaining my situation to the attendant, he told me that I would need to come back after Christmas because "Santa Clause comes first." Not only would he not even give me the time of day, he was very rude about it. It was definitely apparent that money was more important than quality customer service and correcting something they did poor job on. I will not be back and look for somewhere else to take my business!

It was a usual friday evening. The dogs were barking, the smell of fresh pico de gallo in the air. I am a man with an exquisite taste in watches. However, I had no intentions of adding to my extensive collection this particular day. As I passed Mckenzies on horseback there was an unusual aura exuding from it. I HAD to go in. Once I entered I knew I had made the right decision. I was instantly greeted by a one, Belinda. Now let me tell you, I have never experienced such hospitality and kindness in a single individual. I told her of my NEED to obtain high quality watches and she definitely met my demand. Upon seeing the wonderful plethora of watches McKenzies had to offer I literally had an internal struggle to decide which watch would be mine. After, about 45 min I made my decision. I chose THE citizen. Notice I said THE citizen and not A citizen. In my opinion (AKA fact), THE citizen is the supreme watch. Nothing can compare. With my newly obtained watch I could now safely patrol the streets of Gotham fighting crime. Knowing the exact time at a moments notice. But I digress. I would highly recommend shopping here for any of your royal jewels and watches.

This was a pretty horrendous experience. First, they continually forgot about my order, quoting 4 separate dates for the completion of the project. They only began the engraving on the 3rd due date. Next, the engraving wasnt even handled well. The single characters on 3 objects (an easy job) all came out at vastly different sizes. Since engraving is handled by CNC, all they had to do was a test run on a spare piece of metal (which they said theyd do) to ascertain the size at which the characters printed. Finally, they forgot that I designed the characters for these items and just went with Times New Roman after I expressed concern fr this very problem at each due date. This place is horribly organized, resulting in a rushed job of poor quality on my very expensive items. A good craftsman knows you measure twice and cut once. McKenzie Smiley didnt even measure the first time.If you care about quality, find an engraver outside of Clarksville who cares. I wouldnt trust them with your cherished items.

Its always a pleasure doing business with McKenzie & Smiley on Madison Street, because theyre like family. Of course they know their jewelry: they know stones; they know pearls; they know design. But so does virtually every other jeweler out there. What sets the McKenzie & Smiley family apart from all the rest is that they made the effort to know ME. Their personal attention, quality repairs and professional service have brought me back for years. What more could you want in a jeweler? When I walk through those doors they not only know my face, they know my jewelry, my style and even my family. My 11 year old grandson is treated as just as valued a client as am I. Their repairs are flawless and keep all my treasures secure and looking fabulous. After moving here, I spent years looking for a jeweler like the one I ‘inherited’ from my parents; one I could ‘pass on’ to my children, and now I’ve found it. McKenzie & Smiley truly is MY family jeweler. (But Im willing to share...)

I chose my diamond with Brian Smiley and he mounted it for me in the setting I thought my soon to be fiance would love. After close inspection in the store, I had him box it up and away I went. But, I had to look at the ring just one more time before I asked for her hand in marriage. I took the ring out and looked at it in the sunlight and being the diamond expert I am not, decided that I did not like what I had originally chosen. I went back to see Brian and he was more than happy to help me choose another stone. He never once lost his patience with me even though I had changed my mind a couple of time by now. I ended up with a beautiful ring and my WIFE loves it!! I cant say enough about the way that these people do business. There are several places in Clarksville to buy diamonds, but I have only had this kind of service at McKenzie & Smiley!!!! They have been there for me, both before and after the sale, and that is why I will only shop in their store!!

Terrible experience. Took my spouses wedding band to their "Master Jeweler" to have a duplicate ordered for our ten year anniversary. He measured the stones while I waited, we found a suitable duplicate in a catalog to order, and a price was quoted. When the ring arrived less than a week before my anniversary I found the stones were visibly much smaller than they should have been. I talked with Mr. Smiley who told me a replacement ring with stones the correct size would be more than a 100 dollars more and if he didnt charge me more he wouldnt make as much money. Really? What about breaking even when your business makes a mistake to make it right? No. I was given the option of paying more or paying the quoted price for the messed up ring. Never mind that its 3 days before my anniversary. I paid more for the replacement ring that came a week late but I will never go back there. A business should make things right when they make a mistake.
