The Video Game Cavern is the place to go if you are looking for older games and systems. They do have some more consoles that are recent, though, just used. They can also order certain things for you, which isnt worth doing when you can just go somewhere else and get it right away. Overall, everything there is in fair condition. I dont usually have to return things, except for when I bought a Nintendo 64 controller the control stick was loose, and every time I tried to get another they were also loose. Then they tried to get me to just buy a new one for $20. Heck no. The one thing I REALLY dont like about this place is its employees. Now Im not sure if Ive meet all of them or not, but most of them are really nice and helpful, like employees should be. But, there are these two guys that work there pretty much the whole week. They are the reason I rated their service as "poor-fair". Basically, they arent exactly cheerful. I mean, I dont expect people to be joyful all the time, but its like they are never happy to see you when you walk in. Just because you have a bad day doesnt mean a customer, who has probably only met you for the first time, has to deal with your attitude. They always talk quietly and mumble all the time as well. How are you supposed to hear them when they ask a question or whatever? And, sometimes when you cant understand them they get really ticked off. That really bugs me. One time I was looking at the video game guides and a guy walked out cussing about their policies. I dont blame him. Their policies are kind of stupid. I think that really, those two should really step it up if they want customers to come back. Sometimes Im not sure if I want to go or not because I dont want to see them working behind the counter. Really, I guess you could just go there for yourself. We all have our own opinions, so maybe some people dont mind those two as much as me. But it might be a good idea to keep all this in mind.

Im a good hour away. I spoke to an employee today at 4:00 p.m. 11/25 and called to ask if you guys have certain games in stock. Im looking for only a few but his first response was, "Oh, youll have to come down here, theyre scattered all around". I know that you guys have games in a glass case and that you get new ones periodically, but this gentleman didnt even want to help me. I finally just said, "Alright, nevermind, Ill just go on the internet" since I can just view all the internets inventory at my computer rather than spend all the gas going to your store just to perhaps have the game. The guy didnt seem to want to help at all, maybe hes having a hard day. Ill still shop there when I can, but I just want you to know it turned me away from your store (which Id rather put money into than online). I know that any feedback is positive, good or bad, but other than this situation you guys have been awesome.

Well its the only place for a long, long way that sells video games from the 70s and 80s till now. All else there is just game stop which gets worse. They are decent prices overall. Expect to find more old stuff than new releases, and also mostly used games than new. Also, systems can be fixed here for you! The newest 3DS (used) I just bought wouldnt come with a charger, which sucks, but still not as expensive as a brand new one. If you want old stuff for video games and live from Greenville to around spartanburg at least,I recommend this place. Never had a problem with them for over 8 years now. kind service as well

This is a good store and is a good option (thats if you cant find your favorite retro game at the thrift store or pawn shop), however... theres only one real problem. There is this one dude that works there all the time. Wears glasses and has a beard. Hes never pleased or cheerful... its like he hates his job and just mumbles quietly. That reviewer below me was right. Heres a tip: if youre looking for GOOD games (you know, valuable games), always look into the glass counter. Check their Facebook page out if you will. Do I recommend this place? Yes... just be aware of the employee I mentioned.

Went to VGC to have my NES repaired, since it wasnt loading carts right. During the repair they ended up breaking the card reader because of dry rotted plastic. They turned around and comped me a fantastic quality NES off the "top shelf" of their collection of consoles. Couldnt have asked for better customer service, and their selection and variety is top notch. I recommend these guys over any Gamestop or other corporately owned store. Gotta love the "family owned" games store.

Great place if you want nostalgic games and friendly helpful staff great place to find stuff you would like to play again only issues is that there isnt any way to find specific things or a way to request for a certain game(s) rather than visiting store multiple times or calling also no online store or in store pickup on something your wanting.. You can call and they will look briefly and they only have a 1hr hold if they find it... defiantly nostalgic..

Great store, and great selection. Everyone Ive dealt with has been helpful and friendly. Ive bought a number of games for myself and my kids, and the only time I ever got a dud, they replaced it... no questions asked. Prices are fair, and collectible stuff goes for typical ebay prices, but this is a business, not a charity, so I dont have a problem with it (its still cheaper than paying shipping too.)

Im a fan of what they are trying to do here but by not having new games, the store being so small, and the prices being higher than what they should I just cant justify shopping here. This place could be really great for the area but they would have to move and support new games.

Personally its my favorite game store, I love the prices which in my opinion blow GameStop out of the water, and if a game doesnt work you get your money back! Also it seems like you get more for your used games then other stores. Amazing place, with amazing selection!

Me and my wife went into this place and I purchased a PlayStation 2 and 2 games for it. Not thinking about checking my bag I get home and my son says Dad where are the games. The lady at the counter did not put our games in the bag and I will be back up there Saturday.

Great people, greatest selection of games anywhere in the Upstate. From Atari 2600 to Xbox One, and everything in between, with a great assortment of new and used consoles, as well. Wherever youre coming from, its worth the drive.
