TERRIBLE SERVICE. If I could Id give this place no stars. My bridesmaids and I went for a shopping trip yesterday to take a look at bridesmaids dresses. After the wonderful treatment at the first store (Bella Bridesmaids) we expected the same treatment at this high-end downtown shop. Dont be fooled by their wonderfully decorated space; the service is less than stellar. Lets just say if you want to feel like Julia Roberts in pretty woman when she was refused service by the snobby shop ladies, this is your place. Im a young bride, but Im no idiot. I called ahead the week before to set up an appointment, clearly stating that I was coming with my girls to look at bridesmaids dresses. We arrived early to our appointment, and the first thing the girl said to me was you must be Hillary! Im not hillary. I brushed it off thinking it was no big deal, but then I later realized theyd booked another appointment on top of mine. She didnt even realize we were looking for bridesmaids dresses (when I told her I wanted purple DRESSES she laughed at me). After shed "figured us out" she ran us over to their selection and pulled out some dresses and then left us to fend for ourselves. The rest of the appointment we were unknowingly set up to work with another employee, who had the personality of a wall. Shed silently pin up my bridesmaids dresses. The only thing she said to us during the appointment was "that is a cocktail dress and it doesnt come in multiples," after Id been shopping alone in that dress section.... she watched me look for a bridesmaids dress in a section I cant get multiples in and didnt say a word. Meanwhile the girl we were first introduced to had wondered off with another bride whos appointment was booked over mine. This place was TERRIBLE. Ive never felt so unwanted in a place of business. They didnt even offer for me to look at their wedding dresses. Next time I know to come in flashing my Louie Vuitton Purse shouting to the rooftops that I have no budget and that Im getting married in Maui. Sorry my 1910 antique engagement ring wasnt enough to tip these girls off that yes, Im engaged and yes, I like good service. The Poinsett bride is the WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE Ive ever had. So note to future brides: Dont be young looking, bring your Mom so they see that you have no budget expense, and try to ignore the snobby attitudes of the shop girls.

Not much of a Selection. At times cold. Dont visit unless you are willing to spend $3000 and up, but very nice dresses and shop. I went to Poinsett Bride during a Sample sale. I have a year and a half to find a dress but I wanted to look and maybe find a good deal on a dress that I may other wise not be able to "afford". The staff was overall very nice and helpful, but my bridal consultant was the owner, who was not rude, but at the same time not very friendly and inviting. Upon asking me what I was looking for, when my wedding was, and what my budget was I began to feel very uncomfortable. I was looking to spend $2000 max on my dress. This is not because I cant afford a more expensive dress, I just dont want to spend the money on something Ill wear once if I can find a suitable dress I love for less. I HAD DONE MY HOMEWORK. Before making my appointment I checked which designers they carried and picked out about 10 dresses from varying designers. Their selection was so poor that they only had 1 of the 10 dresses I picked out. And when mentioning what type of dress I was looking for (all lace with a sash) I was politely informed that it was out of my price range, but she pulled a few dresses I could swing. There was one sample I did like that was 50% off, which would have been a great deal if I didnt have the time to shop some more. No effort was made to find me an alternative dress style that was more in my price range. Several times through the appointment I was discouraged and was close to tears from disappointment. I felt like my dream dress was out of reach. What should have been a fun, exciting, and invigorating experience was a disheartening one. I will say that the shop was nice, the dresses were very nice and of great quality, so I can understand their high price (I knew what I wanted was expensive), but the service and selection was lacking. I ended up driving to Demitra Designs and got GREAT service and tried on probably 10 dresses which were very close to what I was looking for, and ALL were within my price range. after leaving Poinsett Brides I didnt feel like I could find a dress I loved without going over budget, but after visiting Demitra I have a renewed feeling of hope.

I originally went to the Poinsett Bride for a Jim Hjelm dress, but after discovering it was not flattering, was immediately directed to a Judd Waddell that was perfect!! Paula, the owner, has been - without exception - the most reliable, helpful vendor with whom I have worked during this entire wedding planning process. I would call to give reminders of what I needed at upcoming fittings, but every time, she was ALWAYS ahead of schedule. I purchased my wedding dress there, and then had so much confidence in their ability, i took my moms 31 year old wedding gown to Paula. She redesigned the gown in only 3 fittings. Its now a gorgeous cocktail dress with a fun, mock train in the back. She removed the sleeves, took numerous feet of fabric off the bottom of the dress, and altered it throughout the bodice. After being disappointed with flower girl dresses I had originally ordered, Paula offered to design and make something for it. It was EXACTLY what i envisioned, and she even made it based on measurements from a flower girl who lived out of town. It was AMAZING. Paula also redesigned beautiful rucched straps for my junior bridesmaids dress to make them much thicker and age appropriate. They look like they were the original style of the dress when she finished. She also made a garter from heirloom material I had. OH....and the best part was the GORGEOUS veil she handmade. It is so amazingly beautiful. Paula - and her entire staff - knows their stuff. They found PERFECT shoes, earrings and a hair fascinator that were EXACTLY what i wanted. You will not find more personalized experience anywhere else. They are incredibly friendly and very professional. Every trip to their store was such a treat because I knew they would not let me down. Everything was finished on schedule, or in most cases, AHEAD of schedule. Paula never forgot a single detail -- and we had a lot going on with all of our items. Again, the Poinsett Bride is such a delight. You wont be disappointed.

After my friend’s great experience at Poinsett Bride, I was excited for my appointment on 11/30/13 at 2:30. After telling the saleswoman my max price, she showed me the section of the dress room to look at. She pulled several dresses while my mom put some sample sale dresses (50%off!) directly into the dressing room. I got to a dress that after putting it on, I knew was a big contender. While taking it off, I noticed the price was twice my max. I thought it must be from the sale rack in order to be in my price range, and I immediately asked the saleswoman. She said that must be the case, but she would find out and make sure. After a few more dresses, I asked her if shed found out and she said, "Yes, I did, and it is 50% off." I put it on again, added a belt and veil, and had my family in tears. The saleswoman continued to say what a great deal it was while the seamstress came to look at any alterations that needed to be done. I was seconds from buying it when the owner came and unzipped the dress right on the pedestal. She found the tag and said curtly, "This dress is not on sale" and walked away. No apology. No explanation. Nothing. I held back tears (and some choice words) and went to take off my dream dress. While in the dressing room, the saleswoman said, "I dont know where that dress came from, they were bringing all kinds of dresses in here, I really wasnt sure it was on sale." I said nothing but thought, when I asked her to confirm it was on sale, she lied straight to my face, and now she is blaming my family. There were many things that I and my family could, and maybe should, have said, but we were all in shock. My future MIL thinks they tried to bait and switch me on purpose. This could not have been handled any worse, and I will continue to tell all of my friends.
