This is the first time in my life to write down a review. The food safety of this dessert store seems to be a problem. I bought a Tiramisu cake from Pastiche this Thursday (2/16/2017), recommended by a friend . My wife and my son had some of the cake during the dinner that day. Then they both had diarrhea and vomiting the next day (Friday) at home and school. I didnt try so I was fine that day. At that time, we still couldnt figure out which is the root cause of the diarrhea and vomiting problem At Saturday dinner, I took the rest of the cake from the fridge and ate it all since my wife and son were already sick and didnt have a good appetite. Then, I had diarrhea issue starting from Saturday midnight. Clearly, the Tiramisu cake I got from Pastiche has been polluted and was not safe. We got Tiramisu cake from Whole Foods four times during last year. We never had any problem with that, even after keeping the cake in fridge for four or five days.

Although the desserts are wonderful, I would not recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the Providence area. I was at the establishment when I ordered to take out. As I was waiting for my dessert and coffee, I decided it might be nice to stay. When I inquired to put my name on the list for a table, I was informed that I could not since I already ordered take-out. I was fully prepared to tip the person waiting on us; however, I was dismissed so rudely that I would not go back to this establishment, nor would I recommend it. There are plenty of wonderful bakeries in the Providence area that would be more than willing to accommodate such a request. I work at a company in Providence that hosts many out-of-town visitors. I am the main contact for suggestions for food and drink in the Providence area. Unfortunately after tonight Pastiche will not be on that list.

After having dinner on the hill, we decided to head over to Pastiche to see if we could get in. Last time we ventured on over was a cold day last winter and the place was packed. It was no fun trying to eat our treats outside. This time was pleasantly different. When we arrived there were several tables open. We were able to sit at a booth. The ambiance was perfect, the fire place was on, and lighting was cozy. The staff was very friendly. We each got a hot drink, and split a special for the day, raspberry Cheesecake. It was an excellent sized portion and our drinks were delicious!! The price was cheaper than having dessert at some of the restaurants on the hill, and the quality is awesome. Definitely recommend coming here. We were never rushed, but it did start to get busy with people waiting for tables and take out as we left.

Everything I have had here, and thats quite a bit, is good to perfect, usually very good. The hot chocolate is my favorite in the area. This is the place to go for sit down desert on the hill. The prices are a bit high, but the food IS excellent, and youre paying for the sit-down service, which is cozy and busy, and endowed with the particular charm possible of such places. If you are thinking about whether you should follow up your dinner out with desert anywhere around the hill or downtown, its almost certainly worth paying out the dinner bill and migrating to pastiche. If your looking for take out, sciallo brothers on the other side of the building is a great bakery with no sit down area which you should try for comparative purposes.

Cozy little cafe with delectable treats from the gods! Decision making is very difficult here. Everything looks delish and youll want it all. But at $8 a slice, youre gonna have to pick one. Or roll with a posse -- slices are large enough for sharing. I had my eyes on the banana creme tart, creme cheese brownie and carrot cake. The latter won and it didnt disappoint. Not too sweet, but perfect enough to satiate my craving. I paired that with a latte. It was superb -- not at all your mediocre brown water We got there just in time to be seated without a wait, but seems like it gets very busy, so dont be surprised if theres a line or wait time for a table. Parking: street. Busy area, so it might take a while to find a spot.

We drove a long way there but they were closed during normal business hour. There is a day that we know called independence day. It is on July 4. But, they will be closed till July 10. Really? You call this a business? OK, maybe they have good desserts. But with this type of bad service, they cannot get people. Their decor is poor too. I thought I past by a abandoned house - it looks like it is about to collapse. In addition to making dessert and earn money, can they spend time to make their store look slightly better and not immediately let people feel sick upon seeing it?

Things are good here, dont get me wrong. But there are NO bargins and the attitude of the servers is pretty uppity. I find the crusts a little thick and heavy ( especially on the fruit tarts. Ursulas pastry shop on Broad Street does a far better job on this one. The Pastiche Chocolate Cale is also kind of week. Very little flavor. Greggs at any location in RI will have a beter Chocolate Cake at half the price. *** however, I do agree the peanut butter brownies are fantastic. Pretty much I would go elswhere.

The pastries and cakes are always excellent, as are the coffee offerings. My personal favorites are the fruit tarts and carrot cake. It does get busy here especially on weekend nights, but it is a wonderful place to go and get dessert after dinner somewhere else. Also, Ive ordered whole cakes from them before and they usually dont require any notice unless its a crazy order or you want a massive cake, otherwise you have to give 1-2 days notice. Really great place - probably the brightest gem on Fed Hill.

The staff is very rude and disrespectful. They over charged my card and when I brought it to their attention the manager refused to help me. Refused to give my money back. Kept saying I want to charge your card first for your purchase. Never once offered an apology for their mistake. Insisted I was poor for the color of my skin bc I didnt want to be charged for something I didnt get. Will never return there. Unfortunately I was a customer there for 6 years. Bought many cakes. Goodbye pistache

I dont usually like cake (even at high end places) but this is the exception. It is my familys go to special occasion place to get dessert. I would highly recommend the raspberry-almond cake and the passionfruit-coconut cake. In addition, their lemon tart and fruit tarts are outstanding! The only think I havent liked is the lime mousse tart. The meringue was too eggy tasting, but everything else (including the lattes etc.) are yummy!

I came here for the first time recommended by a friend for dessert after lunch and it was amazing! I love how small and cozy it is. I went there mid-day during the week so it was quiet and we got to sit down right away (I hear it gets pretty busy). The employees seemed very sweet (no pun intended). We both really enjoyed what we ordered and I cannot wait to go back to try everything else!!
