We are very unhappy with this jeweler in all respects, and strongly discourage anyone from patronizing. We originally went here because it was conveniently located, but we finally realized that the owner does shoddy work, as we had to bring back numerous pieces of jewelry he supposedly repaired. Each time we brought it back he blamed it on us, (which we foolishly believed) and charged us to "repair" it again. Eventually, we realized that it was no coincidence that his repairs kept breaking. For example, when a pearl necklace he had restrung started coming apart less than a year later, we decided to bring it to another repair place (Deborah Finn) and the difference was night and day; we havent had an issue since and we were able to clearly tell the difference in quality. The last straw was when we brought an intricate ring that broke after a few years and he spent ten minutes criticizing the wearer and the maker, and charged us a fortune to solidly rebuild it it so we wouldnt have an issue again. Less than a year later, the ring broke again, and when we brought it back, he blamed the wearer again and would not stand behind his repair. This is just dishonest and unacceptable business practice. Our only hope is that our experience will prevent others from making the same mistake we made.

I am not sure what the earlier reviewer was pricing here, but my fiance purchased my engagement ring here, with a stone, for under $1000. It is set with a beautiful antique diamond, and I have received many compliments on the lovely antique-style setting custom made by the owner. The prices seem very reasonable to me for custom-made jewelry, and the owner is very friendly. When I came back to buy a necklace for my sister, he cleaned my engagement ring for free. He takes a lot of pride in his work.

Excellent service for purchases big and small. Russell patiently talked me through designing an engagement ring, made a great custom product, and followed it up with impressive yet affordable wedding bands. I appreciated the low pressure sales environment. Also, one time when I needed my watch band repaired and the battery replaced, it was done the next day for $8. Nothing costs $8 any more! I will go back for all future jewelry and watch needs.

I came here to get the stone tightened in my ring and, of course, one of the prongs was broken. This meant that they would have to keep the ring for a week in order to remove the stone, fix the prong, etc. Not only were they extremely friendly and helpful, but the price was low and they did beautiful work. I would come here again and will certainly recommend them to friends and family.

We needed a quick ring resizing after our engagement so she could show it to friends and family, but the place I bought it from wouldve taken three weeks.William Schwartz Distinctive promised to have it back in three DAYS, and they even stayed late while we were stuck in traffic on the way to drop it off. They were so nice and so fast. I would go back to them in a heartbeat.
