Find another shop if you are a serious roadie. Friends gave me a $100 gift certificate to use there so I took my road bike in for a tune-up and to get the handlebars re-wrapped. When I went to pick it up, the one employee said they needed to replace the rear tube because the valve stem ripped. Upon seeing the bill, it was significantly higher than quoted. Here they charged $9.00 for the tube and $15.00 for the labor; $24.00 for a 2-minute job is outrageous, particularly when a tune-up is already being paid for! I was upset not only because of the cost, but because there wasnt an issue with the rear tube when I took it in nor did they replace it with the thicker type of tube that I use. Plus the employee insults me by saying that the bike came in with the flat, which it didnt. The mechanic must have torn the valve stem when taking it out to true the back wheel. After some bickering on my part, the employee decreased the $24.00 charge a few dollars because he just wanted to get rid of me. Not surprisingly, when I got home and gave the bike a ride to test out the work, the front derailleur outer throw setting was clearly off causing the chain to not fully transition to the big chainring. Needless to say, I wont be returning here. I dont even want them touching my bike. Just to add, I am doing a public presentation on customer service, and using this shop as an prime example of a bad example. Near-sighted on their part because they killed a potential business relationship that would have lasted for years.

This bike shop is terrible. They spend no time to determine the proper size and fit of the bike. In 2008, they sold my wife a bike that was two sizes too big for her, seemingly because it was the last of its kind in stock and they wanted to make room for new inventory. She took the bike back to the shop a couple different times and complained that the bike was painfully uncomfortable. The staff was not very unhelpful. We then took the bike to two other shops to get second opinions and both shops confirmed the bike was too big for her. We then took it back to the Lancaster Bicycle Shop, and the owner was absolutely rude and obnoxious to deal with. After an embarrassing episode in which we had to threaten legal action, he finally agreed to return the bike but was very rude and condescending the entire time. Several times before this I had purchased components from this shop and there was always a problem. Once they sold me the wrong cleats for my pedals, the wrong hardware for a light, etc. A friend of mine had a similar experience in dealing with this shop over a warranty issue. Modern bicycles cost way too much money to buy from a place with lousy customer service.

I do a seven day ride every year in May. This past May while on that ride, I was involved in an accident & my frame broke. I took it to Lancaster bicycle shop because thats where I bought it (in addition to five other bicycles). It was on a Thursday at about 3 PM. They told me that they would need to order some parts. The parts will be ordered first thing Friday morning & would be in by Monday and the repair will take place on Tuesday. That was about the timeframe I expected. The next day (Friday afternoon) at about 3 PM, the bicycle shop called me & told me that my bicycle was ready to be picked up. As it turns out, the lead mechanic, Jim, had some of the parts at home & brought them in to fix my bike. You dont get personalized service like that from any other bicycle shop in Lancaster County. Not only is the service impeccable, the prices are very difficult to beat elsewhere in the area. Some other reviewers report problems here but I have never experienced better customer service anywhere.

I wanted a bike for trails and some road riding. After several bike shops I tried Lancaster bicycle shop. I havent ridden for quite a few years and out of touch with the new bikes. So I decided on a Trek Dual Sport and picked one I liked. The young man suggested I take it for a trial ride but I declined, figuring I knew enough. Well after 2, 3 mile rides I could see it was wrong for my height, it was a 17.5 in. frame. I went back to see if I could exchange for a 19.5 in frame. The owner was very accommodating and agreed and I test rode and could see the difference right away. I just wanted to say thank you and I will recommend the shop to others.

Love this bike shop. When we were looking for a higher quality bike for my 11-year-old son, a helpful staff member talked us through all the options, and made sure we chose the proper size and fit for the bike that would be best for him (and one that he could grow into.) I would say whenever I go in, whether to get annual maintenance on his bike, or to ask a question, the staff is very helpful, and are happy to answer my questions. This is a great bike shop with knowledgeable and friendly helpful staff. Happy to have a good homegrown service in our area.

Says will buy bikes, went in with good quality Diamondback bmx and they wouldnt take it cause it doesnt have front brakes tho none of their bmx bikes have front brakes or mounts. Then they overhauled my tire from tightening the back tire wrong. Bad service, and bad overall attitude towards younger riders.

This is a horrible bike shop every time I go my bike comes back with worse problems then before. And every time you tell one of the employees that your bike is worse than before they tell you that it was you that broke it and not them and they refuse to fix it.

Great buying experience. The owner walked me through the ins and outs of what type of bike would best suit me and allowed me to test ride it outside which was essential for me since Im a tall guy (almost 63). Price was fair for a trek bike.

Went and got 2 tires for my bike replaced, it was crowded, but they had it done in less than 15 minutes and cost less than $30 for everything, and even helped me get my bike back in the car. Thanks!!!

Recently purchased a new bike through the shop. Staff was very helpful and informative, they spent over an hour discussing how I would be using the bike and what the best options for me would be.

I went there to fix a broken brake string. The string actually costs $3. They replaced the string in less than 2 minutes and charged me $21. How ridiculous is that?
