This place offers kayaks and canoes. My husband and I chose canoeing since we had our 3 year with us. We did the 6 mile trail which was perfect. It took us 2.5 hours to get to the pick up point. We actually stopped midway, parked the canoe on the side of the river and went for a swim. The water was amazing. The views were great! Breathtaking! It was so serene and peaceful. We were not in a rush to get to the end. We wanted to enjoy every second of it. My toddler enjoyed herself! Especially, when we went for a swim. The canoe ride was so relaxing that she took a 45 min nap on the seat cushion they provide for her to sit on in the center of the canoe. Wear shades, a hat, sunscreen, bug spray and WATER SHOES if you dont want to feel the squishy ground or cut your feet on sharp rocks. Bring water bottles and granola bars. They rent dry bags to store your belongings for $2. They have a parking lot on the premises and once you register they supply you with a vest, you hop in the van and they drive 6 miles north, set you up in your canoe or kayak and off you go into the water. We loved it so much we will be inviting all our friends! Pizza across the street is pretty good. They also have a playground on the premises that my 3 year old enjoyed. Porta-potties for bathroom and an outdoor foot wash for your convenience. They also rented bikes for the bike trails, well be trying those out next time. Another l, thing I liked about this place is every time I called a human answered! And they were patient, professional and polite with alllll my questions. Highly recommended!!

We did edge of the woods last year on a raft trip for the family. This year we did adventure sports. Adventure sports was a bigger outfit seemed more professional example large pile of life jackets fit yourself multiple 15 passenger vans to take you to your starting point. However next year I would probably go with edge of the woods again. The trip itself down the delaware is a 4 mile trip which is much easier to traverse. vs the adventure sport trip which is 7 miles. 7 miles is waaaay too long. Who has the strength to paddle that long? We made it to the halfway point and it took us 4 hours. (was a bad weather day?) So thats why I would go with edge of the woods. The trip is just the right length and additionally with e.o.t.w. trip you hit rapids which is waaay fun. The adventure sport trail has no rapids which is much more staid and boring. The price for both comes out the same.

The team running the river rafting runs is friendly and competent. They ensured we - a group of about 50 middle-school children with parents and guardians - were aware of the key safety elements of our six-mile trip and how to paddle efficiently without wearing out too soon. The vans dropped us on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware a few miles north of their headquarters and retrieved us south of the I-80 bridge on the New Jersey side of the river. Their bathroom facilities consist of three clean portapotties at the back of the property. Office staff will keep car keys behind the register. They do sell waterproof floatation pockets for phones and wallets, but you really will have more fun without ID or technology. The outfitters have your back.

We found EOW via google maps, because we wanted to do a little river trip with our nieces from Germany. Very neat small shop for outdoor stuff (see other reviews) with very friendly and helpful people. Only problem we had - they would not let their dog come with us! ;). Extremely friendly dog that loved to be cuddled. Anyways, we have more visitors coming later in the year, so we hope to be back soon. Maybe even do an overnight tour or go biking or combine both?! It is such a great area to be!

My girlfriend and I did a 10-mile kayak trip in August 2015. The staff was friendly and accommodating and made an extra effort to ensure we knew what to do and where to go. I forget the name of our van driver, but he was helpful and pleasant to deal with. My only complaint is that the kayaks were a bit uncomfortable to sit in for that long. Otherwise the gear was perfectly adequate. I would definitely recommend this business. Thanks.

Every year our extended family vacations together in the Poconos. As the "locals" we play host. The 4 hour rafting trip is one of the annual highlights. The Delaware is gorgeous, and Edge of the Woods is top-notch. The staff and ownership are unbelievably hospitable, the equipment is excellent, and a good time is guaranteed! Thanks to Rachel & Staff!!

Top-notch service, products, and expertise. Ive been coming to EOW for years for bike rentals, hiker shuttles, and buying new camping equipment, and I highly recommend them. The couple who own it are nice, experienced, and are a great resource for exploring the area. I also recommend them for guided hikes to nearby waterfalls!

This place is awesome! I needed a sleeping bag. We called ahead to make sure they had what I needed and they actually called me back with price quotes and a descriptions that matched the products I was looking for! That kind of service just doesnt happen anymore. Would highly recommend this outdoor store to everyone!

Reasonable rate, helpful folks, good service. Equipment was in good shape. We took the day combo of bike trail ride and canoe trip. We did the basics cause Im old and out of shape. Pleasant day with unfortunate down pour of rain during canoe trip; cant blame that on Edge of the Woods, just one of those things...

The employees are often helping customers with services outside the store. If no one is there, call the number posted on the door. Theyre usually just across the street, and arrive in a minute or two. The limited gear they have for Appalachian Trail thru-hikers is well chosen.

Fantastic store with a great variety of outdoor items in all price ranges. Perfect for through hikers as the shop employees are extremely nice and knowledgeable about the area. If you need anything for hiking, camping, or rafting edge of the woods should be your first stop.

Had a great unguided trip. Rented the raft for the 4 mile trip down the Delaware. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Barely any wait for the shuttle both to and from. Will go back for another trip in the near future.
