I wouldnt even give this place a star after what happened yesterday. I have spent well over 200 hundred dollars in the last 7 days here between my mom, my fiancé and I. They had a coupon for science diet cat food that if you spent $40 you got ten dollars off. The coupon was supposed to last until the first of April. My mom had went to this store after work after I told her about the coupon. When she got there, there was no coupons on the shelf like there was earlier that day 3/30/17 mind you, two days before the coupon expired. And when she got to the front she asked about it and they told her there was no coupon and if there was the coupon expired already. Which wasnt true so she called me and I sent her a picture of it and the expiration date. The female supervisor then, huffed and was all bent out of shape and completely ignore what my mom just had told her to then complain about her life to others while my mom was standing there. My mom is very sick, she has cancer and getting up to go anywhere is work on its own. It took her over 45 mins to get this problem solved and the lady was EXTREMELY RUDE! I spend roughly 190 at this store every month for my animals as well as my mom. NEVER AGAIN will I step into this store unless its to talk their manager! That was a completely disgusting experience and a poor reflection of your business! I will let the Facebook page no and spread the word. I was in that store earlier that day and that supervisor with the dog she owns was so rude to me and my fiancé and gave poor customer service to the rest of the line. HORRIBLE. She was rude to my three year old there as well. Wont ever shop there again!

(Originally posted on Yelp 7/22/16) A nice, clean place... which I wouldnt normally care much about, but a decade ago I got fish with ick - more than once - from the Petco near VRC, and its been a sticking point ever since. The tanks (and the rest of the store, for that matter) are far better maintained here, though. Aside from that, it is what it is: ferrets, birds, lots of reptiles, etc. Though the funner aspects of the place were surprises like "The Treatery" (a Winco-esque dog buffet setup by the front door), and the bizarre cat litter refilling station in the back left corner of the store. Id be lying if I said the thought hadnt crossed my mind to take a dump in there myself, it looked so inviting. On the downside, though, the fish selection is pretty basic, and while I suppose its good that there arent any "puppy mill" situations involved due to the lack of dogs & cats there, pet stores always feel empty to me without either of these two staples of American pet-dom. That, and the people working there pretty obviously dont like their jobs. Im not big on greetings & all that crap necessarily, but still... try to stifle your frustration with your bleak existence between cigarette breaks a tad bit better, okay? Worth visiting. Just nothing spectacular. Though if youre feeling squirrelly, maybe scarf a bag of prunes and then run to that litter station in the back to see if you can leave a "tip" without getting caught. ;)

My kids saved their money to by glofish, and was told they couldnt buy a fish because they didnt buy a thank from petco. They lady helping them said that glofish where salt water and needed a salt water tank. The tank needed to be 3 gallons per fish glofish where aggressive if they get to big they well turn on each other. Reading up on this however non of this is true. Glofish can live in a wide variety of temperatures according to glofish guide. They are a schooling fish like there counterparts. The lady was just trying to sale them a big tank had no real knowledge of what she was talking about. My kids saved their money to buy the glofish got a tank on Craigslist only to be meet by a rude sales lady who didnt know what she was talking about. We went to petsmart had a very helpful and friendly people.. we have a zoo of unwanted pets who are all happy healthy we well never go back to petco for are pets needs. I wouldnt give them one star with hiw rude she was.

Bad grooming experience. I understand that this is a new location and I mostly blame the company, not the employees, for bad policies. My dog has been to many groomers in town, both petsmarts and foxy dog and has always been more than happy to go and never had issues. When I picked up my pug he was foaming at the mouth and drooling all over. They said it was from stress. He has never foamed or drooled before. I got him home and gave him plenty of water and he stopped foaming/drooling after a half hour. I dont know if they put the shampoo near his mouth or face, or if they really were just so awful that he was this stressed out. Like I said I have never seen him do this before and I will never go here again for grooming.

This store deserves no stars. Theres hardly anyone ever working in the store, if you want fish you have to ask the person at the register to get someone. They have no knowledge of fish or cichlids. Ive been keeping cichlids for 10 years, 2 ladies tried to tell me German blue rams get 5" and are very aggressive and will kill any fish in the tank, I have no words for how stupid these people are. Theres one tall guy with long hair that works there that knows fish, the rest are ignorant.

No stars. Lousy service. Two junior staff members and a manager, barely made eye contact and no smile, and treated me like I had committed some kind of crime by returning a pet. The manager was hostile and impatient. She snapped at me, "Do you want your receipt back!" and then as I was entering my phone number into the card machine, she SCREAMED at me, "Its DONE! Maam, youre finished!" Dont expect customer appreciation at the Gateway Petco.

Extremely crappy costumer service. A large female checker talked to our less larger checker while she completely ignored us for the entire transaction. We actually had to interrupt their conversation to ask a question about our product. The only time they stopped talking about the larger girls issue was to ask if we wanted to donate money.....

This store is wonderful! The employees are beyond friendly and helpful, eager to answer questi Me and point you in the right directions. Products are great and reasonably priced...However, Coorperate will ruin this store if they dont work the staff in to quitting first. This is for the store in Eugene, dont go to the one in Springfield.

Worst place ever the female supervisor is a horrible person.everytime i go in with my wife she is always rude and disrespectful we will go to petsmart instead or the other petco at vally river they are great there I dont even want to give them 1 star they should fire her this place is going to go down fast with her.

I love this store never had a problem with it I always get my cat food here they have also help me with fixing my cat peeing on the floor problem staff has never been rude to me and have always been nice and friendly. And Im talking about the springfield store
