LOOK AT THEIR ANIMALS CLOSELY..... I MEAN CLOSE. NOW TELL ME, HOW HEALTHY DOES THAT ANIMAL REALLY LOOK? IMAGINE BUYING IT FOR YOURSELF.... WE BOUGHT A RAT THERE THE OTHER DAY. AT FIRST GLANCE THEY SEEM FINE. THEY SEEM HEALTHY, TILL YOU REALLY START TO EXAMINE THEM. FLEA INFESTED RATS, BITES ALL OVER THEM.... DIDNT REALLY NOTICE THAT TILL WE HELD ONE. THEN WE SEEN THE BITE MARKS, AND NOTICED THE SAME ON ALL 5 OF THEM. IT WAS SAD, MY DAUGHTERS WERE UPSET AND SO WAS I. WE MOVED TO THE NEXT CAGE NEAR THE FISH AREA.... MORE RATS. ONE HAD A GIANT TUMOR ON ITS STOMACH. THERE WERE 3 OTHERS IN THE SAME CAGE, AND OUT OF THOSE 3 WE PICKED WHAT WE THOUGHT THE BEST ONE WAS. JUST A TWO DAYS HOME AND YOU CAN HEAR THAT SHE HAS BREATHING PROBLEMS, SHE IS TERRIFIED TO BE TOUCHED AND HELD. SHE ALMOST SEEMS IN PAIN WHEN WE PICK HER UP, AND OVER WEIGHT LIKE SHE MIGHT BE PREGNANT. SHE LOOKS LIKE SUCH A YOUNG RAT. MY DAUGHTERS WERE SO UPSET AFTERWARDS, THEY WANTED TO RESCUE EVERY ANIMAL IN THERE. THE COUPLE WHO OWNS THE STORE AND THE EMPLOYEES THEY HIRE, DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE ANIMALS LIVES. THEY DO WHAT THEY CAN TO PRODUCE PETS AND KEEP THEM ALIVE AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT MUCH THOUGHT TO THE QUALITY OF THEIR LIVES, ARE ONLY THERE TO MAKE MONEY AND WILL SAY ANYTHING THEY NEED TO, TO KEEP YOU COMING BACK. JUST REMEMBER THOUGH THE NEXT TIME YOUR IN THERE, TO REALLY LOOK AT THE ANIMALS, THEIR CURRENT HEALTH AND QUALITY OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT. THAT PET STORE NEEDS TO DO A BETTER JOB TAKING CARE OF THEIR PETS AND ANALYZING EACH ONES HEALTH & WELL BEING. ITS SAD. AN EXPERIENCE MY KIDS WONT FORGET AND A LEARNING LESSON FOR SURE.

They have a large variety of cool fish, they have slightly cheaper prices than some other pet stores, but most of their stuff is 2 to 3 dollars higher than other stores, some of their reptiles are almost double the price as if you bought it from a breeder.. but their reptiles are not taken care of properly! They dont maintain proper humidity, some of the snakes were dehydrated, had eye damage, and I even saw that some of their snakes had snake mites which were obviously not being treated. Even though its claimed, they do not house rodents for pets, they are all kept as feeder animals in deplorable conditions.. however its the exact same way any other pet store keeps their feeder mice and rats so I cannot single pet time out for this. Be well informed on the animal supplies you are buying before seeking their suggestions and advice on what you need. Their employees are well informed and give good advice, but they will also push you to buy things that you do not need. I dont know that I would ever buy animals from this store except for fish, just supplies. These people know how to give proper care to animals.. they are just unwilling to do it because it would cost them more money. It is a business after all, and the vast majority of pet stores are unethical in this way.. but you have to decide if you are willing to support it or not. In the grand scheme of things, pet time does less damage than petco or petsmart, but only because its not a huge chain store.

Generally we go there to get feeder mice for my boyfriends snake and to look at the fish. We have a decent sized fish tank, so we decided to pick up a catfish while we were there, and decided to get some relatively expensive food for it as well. We were rushed during the process, but it was ok because my boyfriend was excited. As we got home, the catfish was upside down in the bag. We decided to acclimate the water temperature in the bag to the temp in the tank to see if it would help. When we did this we noticed small, brown spots on him. We started doing research and realized they were IMMATURE SEA LICE. At first my boyfriend thought I was crazy because I saw one float off and re-attach to a different part of the catfish. We are appalled someone would sell a fish in this state, and even more so that they didnt realize it was like that. How many more fish are under the same duress? I plan to try to take it back tomorrow, but I doubt I will get any money back. I would hate to get store credit for it, as I never plan to shop there again. EDIT: They were very remorseful about the fate of the fish we bought, and seemed genuinely concerned for the remaining fish. They offered us an in-store credit for a fish of the same price, and we accepted. Although they attempted to fix the issue, and I appreciate that, I do not believe I will shop there any time soon.

Im very happy with Pet TIme. I recently had problems with the impellers on two aquarium power heads I purchased there. I could have ordered new ones on the Internet but I thought I would check the store first. They did not have the individual impellers available, but the salesman (probably an owner - Ive seen him there for years) took the impellers out of two new power head packages to sell me for about what I would have had to pay on the Internet (figuring postage in). I was able to get these installed back in my aquarium the same day instead of having to wait a few days to a week by mail order. I mostly buy aquarium and fish related stuff there but have occasionally gotten cat and dog food there, as well as food for a snake and a rat when my son lived at home. They offer to meet anyone elses price in the area, and are able to special order products they dont normally carry. Ive been going here about twenty years if memory serves me correctly. They have generally been helpful and friendly. Try them out.

I dont like to be ignored or lied to. I stood at the counter looking at one of the owners for a few minutes before stating clearly Im leaving. At this point a helpful young man catches me tells me she does not speak English and asks how he can help me. I tell him I need some crickets, then the owner who ignored me and does not speak English tells me "sorry" (in English) she goes on to tell me the total will be 5 dollars. She takes my money and walks away. As the young man is helping me another owner comes to the counter and tries to charge me again. Then he insists the young man put cardboard in with the crickets. I state very clearly that I do not want it or need it. I am going home to dump them in the tank the cardboard will just make it more difficult. I am again ignored. This is just poor service. The last time I was in I was ignored while two owners argued with a woman about a coupon for pet food. I will buy my crickets down the street at Zany Zoo.

Last winter we bought a ferret from them for $100. First I hear we was 2 then call back after bringing him home because he seemed weak, then another person said 4. We only owned him for 1 year when he got ill. Turns out he was at least 7! When we had bought him he was dehydrated, and very thin I saved him after paying 100 bucks for an old very old ferret. They said he would live as long as a cat they lied He was just put down tonight because of old age. Being first time ferret owners I should have done my research, but they shouldnt have lied and used me to make a buck. They knew he was old and would require special care but instead I heard he was totally healthy and will live for years and years. They could have just let him go to a rescue and not some sucker like me! This store only cares about $ not animals! I did not deserve to be lied to! I feel cheated
