Im a first time car buyer, I bought a 2005 Jetta TDI from UAS in March 2016 and was told that the only issues with the care concerned the seat heaters not working, the hi-beams having a loose casing (and therefore not working), and the back two power windows not working. I bought the car despite those issues, as they were minor and I was in need of a reliable vehicle. Three months later, I am driving down a back road near my residence and the car shuts off entirely and I cannot get it to start. I have maintained the cars oil changes and whatnot. Shortly after getting the car into a mechanic, the mechanics shop calls me and tells me that not only are the manufacturer codes for the car reading out as a station wagon with a back windshield wiper and a sunroof, there was no fuse in one of the fuel pumps (most likely what caused the car to stop out of absolutely nowhere, and due to the computer codes mismatching, there was no error detected until then), a bearing near one of the wheels was worn to the point of a safety issue, the switches for all of the windows were bad, and the drivers side door and back passenger side doors locking latches did not work (I can lock my drivers side door manually with the key, but as I have never been in the back of my car, I never knew that the back right door couldnt lock.) I asked specifically before and after I had signed the purchase papers if there was anything else wrong with the car. I made it clear that I was going to keep the car and that I just wanted to know how much I should budget in for any as-is repairs. Throughout the sales process I stressed the importance of safety and reliability with the vehicle - I have two god children and a niece with me often, I need a vehicle that will be safe for them, one that wont completely die out of absolutely nowhere while going sixty down a back road with no warning lights on the dash. I was told there was nothing more wrong with the vehicle. The garage had my car for a single day and found all of these issues within hours; the dealership had the car for weeks or months and I am convinced there is no way a responsible auto dealership with competent mechanic technicians can not know about hazardous and essentially easy-to-find errors in their product. While the salesmen are nice enough, they have made it clear to me that they dont mind selling a vehicle with a high potential for serious or fatal failures to someone. That is not appropriate and, personally, I believe it is terrifying and borderline inhumane - how many other cars have they sold have failed due to issues unknown to the driver? How many injuries or fatalities could have been prevented if the dealership had been honest about the issues with a purchased vehicle? I was lucky that my car died on an empty road and that I wasnt on the freeway or in an intersection. I was lucky that I didnt have my godchildren or my niece in my car. I got lucky and I cannot rely on luck to keep me and my loved ones safe from harm. The prices of the vehicles are very reasonable and the salesmen are amiable, but I would, at the very very least, strongly caution against purchasing any vehicle from Universal Auto Sales in Salem, Oregon. Through their actions, they have made it clear that they do not care for the quality or safety of their vehicles as long as they make a sale and that is unacceptable.

This is the best dealership ever I came back to buy Lexus last night, and every time I come in everyone is patient and willing to work with me and get me the best deal ever. Lancaster??? Um we went there to look at a truck they had there, the guy said he was going to work our deals and call us, he never got back to us. Then we went back a week later, the gates were closed and a guy was standing out there saying, my co worker has the keys, if you come back in a few and ask for Jacob Ill give you a fat discount, then asked me for a cigarette. Went to 12th street Nathan, Rolando, and the owner Brady were wonderdul, they made us feel important, they werent pushy at all and were very patient with us looking and driving all their cars. We finally decided on an SUV that they just got in, I drove it to Monmouth and it started over heating, I took it back, they put me into a really nice honda until they fix my car. We had an awesome experience there as we did when we bought our first car from Brady, maybe we just keep getting lucky to hit them when the owner is there. Awesome job guys! Keep up the good work
