The Bike Peddler is a solid bicycle shop in downtown Salem. The customer service is strong and the staff knows what they are doing. The clientele tends to be more hardcore bikers who ride road bikes with spandex. Thus the focus of the gear in the store tends to be on racing and speed rather than cruising and commuting. The downsides are the relatively small size of the store, which means it doesnt have the variety that other stores in the area have. Also, the products in the store are usually a few dollars more expensive than other bike shops in town. However, in my experience the price for repairs and labor is comparable to area stores. All around, a nice bike store although not my favorite in the area.

When I was looking to buy a new road bike I visited 9 different shops in the Albany, Corvallis and Salem area.Bike Peddler was above the rest for after the sale service. Not only did I get a 90 minute fitting by Joe, the owner, I also got 2 years of free tune ups. All the other shops only offered 1 free and charged $50 or more for a tune ups afterwards. This service alone would cost me $200 at the rate I ride in 2 years!!! So for the reviewer who thought that they were to expensive, did not factor everything in. Add in their great selection from kids bikes to full on race bikes, along with their knowledgeable staff and you will understand why I wont be buying a bike from anyone else.

I just bought a brand new bike at this shop and was very impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff members. They were very attentive to each person and, being a Saturday, this was their busiest day of the week. I havent owned a bike for over 20 years, so Im pretty much a newbie at this. Im going to be very dependent on these folks to help me keep my new bike in good working order and I feel confident they will do very well at that.

I have my ride in for two annuals; both times the work was top-notch and VERY reasonably priced. The most recent time they helped me work through some color-change indecision, and worked with me bringing in my own parts. The staff is knowledgeable, but not pretentious; Im a only a serious rec rider, and they make me feel like a champ whenever I go in. Friendly, well-priced, great selection of bikes and accessories- VERY glad I found them!

Staff was extremely helpful and took the time to figure out the bike best for me. The selection for both bikes and accessories was beyond what I expected. I also paid less than I expected for the Specialized bike that I purchased. It came with a two year maintenance plan, which was a big plus. I will definitely recommend the shop to friends and plan to be a repeat customer.

The staff there were very low key and friendly and adjusted my touring bike for comfort on the spot. The mechanic brought me back to show me how to adjust my derailers and helped me find a comfortable riding position for me saddle, beyond what I expected. Prompt, excellent customer service, and great.

My bike was making some sounds it shouldnt, so I brought it in for repair. Great customer service, they didnt overcharge me and they only repaired what needed to be fixed. The repairs were completed ahead of schedule, which really help me out. Ill be using their services in the future.

I had my sons old bike brakes done, new brakes and a new seat put on for my grandson. When I got home, the brakes didnt work well at all. I took it back and they fixed right away and gave me a discount on a helmet. I appreciated that. Plus, they were were humorous
