Great bike store with excellent staff and better than expected prices. Weve been looking to upgrade my daughter to a multi-speed bike and stopped by here on a Saturday just to look. They were busy but the staff asked if we needed help and let us know that theyd get to us a soon as they good. While we waited, they were friendly and organized and stopped to give us quick help for a few seconds while fetching items for other customer. They never lost track off the order people came in and when they got to us they were cheerful and attentive and we never felt rushed even though we made it clear we were just looking. They showed us several brands and sizes and happily took the time to have the service area adjust and check out two different bikes for my daughter to test ride. In the end we found the perfect bike for her at less than we expected to spend and ended up buying it that day after all. Once we decided to buy and paid, they were no less attentive and took about 30 minutes in the service area going through the bike thoroughly and ensuring it was set up perfectly. We sat at the counter to quietly watch, not wanting to bother the tech, but he recognized us from the test ride, and chatted about what he was doing and why and tricks and tips for this particular bike. My daughter was fascinated by it and I knew the bike was in top shape when we left the store. Whole experience made me want to spend more money at this store just because I trusted and enjoyed the staff so much by the end. It was exactly what I thought a LBS should be like.

These guys are AWFUL! I dont have the slightest idea how they stay in business. They dont answer the phone until 20 or 30 rings, and when they do, they arent helpful. Cases in point: 1) I called to schedule a service appointment for my bike and they didnt answer the phone for several minutes. When they did and I asked to make a service appointment they said I should "just come in and well take care of you.". I know for a FACT that service appointments are schedule more than a week in advance so either a) the guy was an idiot and thought theyd service my bike that day or b) expected me to DRIVE THERE just to schedule an appointment. 2) Five days after I bought a brand new bike there the chain separated and tore off the derailleur hanger. I brought into the shop and asked them to fix it and they wanted to charge me. The tech said Id caused the damage and accused me of dropping the bike (I hadnt). When I said that the chain separated he called me a LIAR to my FACE! It was only after I then insisted on seeing the manager did they determine I was right. Never even got an apology for them calling their customer a liar. STAY AWAY!!

I just bought a rack for my commute bike here. I could buy it from Amazon much cheaper, after digging all the reviews, that I normally did for all recent my procurements. I didnt this time because I bought a couple small parts here before and the employees here helped. I know the difference between online store and retail, its the face-to-face real time help and human contact. But I didnt get anything here today. I spent an hour to install the rack onto my bike, because I want to ride it home before sunset. I found it I did it wrong after I got home. When I worked by my self in store today, no one proactive asked me if I need help, I had to ask employees for lending me tool. If they were busy today, I am OK with it. but there were 4 employees there but only one other customer there. No one care to check with me what I was doing, but chatting with other employee. My office is near by, and I walk by the bike store every week at lunch time. I think I will go to Sport Basement next time my bike tune-up, at least I know I pay extra for learning experience from expert face-to-face, not from my own mistake, I got Amazon for that.

Go here for semi cheap parts only when in a pinch and thats it. I work across the street at eBay and I commute every day, so on occasion Ive stopped over there for simple repairs that I couldnt do while at work and Ive always been disappointed. For example, they wanted 35-45$ to tighten 3 spokes on an out of true wheel. Another time they told me they couldnt remove a crankset because once you remove a crank you can never put it back on again, they are on time use only. So clearly dont go here an expect to find anyone with knowledge about wrenching on your bike. The sales staff can be nice, but again, go in knowing what youre looking for and dont rely on anyone being able to help you. Sometimes I buy tubes here when they go on sale, though you can usually get them cheaper online. If you need to find a mechanic that knows anything about working on bikes, go to Willow Glen Bikes in Lincoln and ask for Tahn.

I knew it would be a good place because it was recommended to me a few times before I got there. Fit me and sized me for an awesome bike, discounted from 1500 to 800 cause it was last years model. I got the clip in pedals and shoes too, wasnt expensive and the shoes are great. I got to test drive the bike before buying it, test drove a few. How awesome is that? And then I became a member for 60 bucks, and got a hundred bucks back from my purchase which I used to buy lights and a bottle holder and stuff. And then when my tire popped I brought it in, free of charge as a member they fixed it. I wish I lived closer to there, thats my only complaint. I absolute recommend this place if you want to start biking or are already started. Im from Canada, I used to get ripped off all the time for labour on my bike. If youre buying a bike, its worth it to become a member. Otherwise I wouldnt.

Good shop, good people, problems with adequate staffing. On a slow day is a 5 stars for prices and service. On a busy weekend it is a 1 star at best. Ive been there a number of times, good and bad. Because of their great location next to bike trails you cant swing a dead cat without hitting some yuppie scum. Went there one weekend with my adult son to buy some parts. After standing in line for 20 minutes a weasel enters the shop with his bike, pushes way to the front of the line and demands immediate service. Waited another 15 minutes and they were still holding this clowns hand so we left. IMO 35 minutes of standing in line to buy parts with no end in sight is pretty weak. Not my job or the other people in line to confront a line jumper, should have been handled by the staff since they saw him do it. Been like that every time I go on a summer weekend.

I dont event think this shop deserves 1 star. I used to frequent this store at least 5 years ago. They do have a good location. Its on the corner and located near some nice health food stores to get a bite to eat. I went in to buy a helmet and a bicycle computer. A lot of what they carry on the web site is not found at the store. There are discounts also found on the web site and not available at the store too. The people running this store are not cyclists. They know little about about the sport. They really need some avid cyclists working there and not some people that spend all their time walking around taking inventory and standing behind the cash register. Yes, there is an Indian guy working there and like others, he walks right by you and your lucky if he says Hello. There are just not as many avid cycling shops around any more.
