DO NOT!! I REPEAT!!! DO NOT DO BSNSS. WITH THIS PERSON JAMES SHINGLETON! CELL PHONE REPAIR. I HAVE OVER THE PAST 7 MONTHS PAID FOR AND GIVEN HIM MONEY FOR CELL PHONES THAT DID NOT LAST ONE MONTH.. 5 TO BE EXACT...AND OH! ALL THEY COULD DO FOR ME WAS GET ANOTHER PHONE BY UPGRADING.OR JUST ANOTHER PHONE LIKE THE ONE I HAD..OR THE COST TO FIX THAT ONE ON HAND...BUT I ALWAYS UPGRADED..CAUSE THE GIRL THAT WAS WORKING IN HIS WOODBURN STORE..( THAT CLOSED DOWN AND NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO ANYONE ABOUT THAT) I WENT THERE ONE DAY TO DEAL WITH YET, ANOTHER PHONE I GOT FROM HIS BSNSS. THAT DID NOT LAST A MONTH.., AND THERE WAS SIMPLY A CLOSED SIGN ON THE DOOR..I THOUGHT MAYBE OUT TO LUNCH, CAME BACK A SECOND TIME AND STILL GAVE THE BENEFIT OF MY DOUBT, ( THE OUT TO LUNCH THING), AND THEN A THIRD TIME..I LOOKED IN THE WINDOW AND SAW NOTHING IN THERE. NO CHAIRS NO NOTHING...NADA!!! NO CALL FROM JAMES TO LET HIS GOOD CUSTOMERS KNOW THAT HE HAD CLOSED THE WOODBURN STORE..YOU SEE HOW THAT WORKS?? SO I CALL JAMES AT THE SALEM STORE ( THE OWNER) AND SEEMINGLY NICE PERSON AND SEEMINGLY HONEST. HAD ALREADY PAID FOR A NEW SCREEN FOR MY HUSBANDS PHONE 3 MONTHS AGO ( HAVE MY RECEIPT) AND HE KNEW ALL ABOUT IT...MY HUSBANDS PHONE HAD A CRACKED SCREEN, SO I TOOK IT DOWN TO SALEM FROM ( AURORA) ABOUT 25 MILES, FOR JAMES TO PUT ON. THEN CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY ( AFTER HE CALLED A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER THE SAME DAY OF DELIVERY, THAT IT WAS DONE). THE ONLY REASON WE DECIDED TO FIX THE SCREEN IS BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN THE BEST PHONE WE EVER HAD, AND MY HUSBAND WANTED TO GIVE IT TO ME, CAUSE I FINALLY WENT AN BOUGHT A CHEAP PHONE TO USE.AND MY HUSBAND DOESN CARE WHAT KIND OF PHONE HE HAS, HE WANTED ME TO HAVE THE BEST ONE. SO...LONG STORY SHORTER.. I WENT TO PICK UP THE CELL PHONE, AND LOW AND BEHOLD, THE SCREEN WAS FIXED BUT, IT KEPT SHUTTING OFF AND HE COULDNT GET IT TO STAY ON FOR ABOUT 15 MINS. WHEN HE DID GET IT ON, THERE WAS THIS BLACK AND PURPLE STRIPE DOWN THE LEFT SIDE ( ABOUT 3/4 OF THE WAY ACROSS THE SCREEN OF THIS PHONE, ( IT GOT DARKER AND DARKER AS WE SPOKE FOR THE NEXT 15 MINS. HE NEVER LOOKED ME IN THE EYE WHEN HE WAS TALKING. THAT IS A LIAR!!! IF YOU CANT LOOK SOMEONE IN THE EYES WHEN YOU ARE TALKING, THEN YOU ARE A LIAR!YOUR HIDING SOMETHING SO I TRIED TO GET HIM TO LOOK UP..TO NO AVAIL..TILL I LEFT VERY UNHAPPY,HOWEVER, HE DID OFFER TO FIX IT FOR $85.00 THEN WHEN I EXPRESSED HOW UPSET MY HUSBAND WAS GONNA BE, HE SAID I GUESS I COULD REPAIR IT FOR ABOUT $50.00 THIS WHOLE BSNSS. IS JUST OUT TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND BREAK YOUR PHONES AND OFFER TO FIX THEM WHEN HE DOES. THIS COMPANY MADE AT LEAST $700-$800.00 OFF ME, FOR CELL PHONE AFTER TRADE IN PHONE...A PERSON COULD ALWAYS BRING IT BACK FOR A TRADE IN, AND ALWAYS UP TRADE..AND I SOLD HIM TWO I PHONES AND ANOTHER ONE AND GOT CRAP! TRUST ME, THEY MADE A LOT OF MONEY OFF ME...I WENT BY WHAT THEY ADVISED..AND JUST KEPT HAVING TO HAVE THINGS REPAIRED. WHEN I TOOK MY HUSBANDS PHONE IN THERE REALLY WAS NOTING WRONG EXCEPT THE CRACKED SCREEN..OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE JUST URCHASED A CHEAP SMART PHONE. WHICH IS WHAT I DID NOW..IT WORKS GREAT, AND FOR $45.00 AND ANYTHING GOES WRONG..JUST BUY ANOTHER ONE... WE INTEND TO TAKE THIS FURTHER.TRUST ME...I RATE IT BAD BSNSS.....LESS THAN ONE STAR...

In addition the stores good selection of late model phones, James does great repair work. My husbands on/off button on his iPhone 5 began to fail at the beginning of this year. He took it to James, who carefully repaired it by replacing the internal component that same day. Just like that, the button has been performing like the day the phone was first turned on. Given that work and the other repairs he performs to refurbish used phones, James clearly has a lot of technical expertise troubleshooting and performing all forms of repairs and unlocking various types of phones. Best of all, he does it with reliable parts without the high cost charged by the big box stores. If youve damaged your phone, you should definitely check with him to see if its repairable before you replace it--he can size up the damage and give you a quote on what it would cost to fix it. You might not have to replace the phone after James is able to work his magic. After upgrading my own phone a few months ago, I wanted to recoup some money by selling my old phone. My husband searched around online, but neither my carrier or other mainstream buyers of used electronics were going to give me more than a few bucks for it. We took it to James, and knowing the value of it, he gave me top dollar for it in cash. If youre looking to upgrade like I was, take your old phone to James and get cash--youll be glad you did!

Helpful and generous. My experience with Salem Cell store was as expected of someone who is in the business of second hand electronics. I didn’t want to be locked into a contract and I didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for a phone. The guy was friendly and you could obviously see he knew how to get you a good deal. I’m mainly writing this because I saw these other posts up here it looks like to me these other people just wanted to blow off some steam. A business is a business if you buy something don’t try and take it back just because you saw something somewhere else you liked better come one!!! And to the lady that bought “five phones” from James….. I understand you sound a bit confused and angry. TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK !!!! WE CAN TELL YOUR SERIOUS YOU DON’T HAVE TO FREAK OUT. No wonder he “wouldn’t look you in the eye”. LOL. You sound like a classic case, no to be confused with “classy”. You all know as well as I do you get what you give in this life, and James seems like the kind of guy who goes the extra mile to build his business and provide a high quality cell phone service. Trust me, you wont fine another source like this out there who will truly work with you as a person.

I bought a couple of phones from them and asked specifically if they could be returned if they didnt work out. I was told that I would have 30 days. I asked specifically again to be sure if I could return them for my money back and was told yes from 30 days of purchase date. When I went to return them because I was not told and did not know that they could not updated they said they dont take returns. Do not trust what they say. I was way over charged for a phone that wont update. They may be able to repair phones but they are NOT TRUSTWORTHY by saying one thing and doing another. Will not buy another phone or service from them again and suggest you do the same.

Well my iPhone cracked and was making my fingers bleed so I came here out of desperation. James handled the broken phone within 1 hour And was so helpful. Wellll...fast forward a month and a half later and it cracks again?!!!!!!! So James handled it again and this time I bought the tempered glass screen. Ive basically bought my phone all over again. Anyhow, James has been super helpful and understanding, prompt and courteous. Straightforward for sure but definitely nice. Highly recommend this store for any fixes. And please dont listen to the bad reviews. I almost did and decided to find out for myself and happy I did. Havent had any issues.
