My wedding was July 22nd, 2017 and she promised me before purchasing the gown that it would arrive by mid-June and I would have plenty of time for fittings and not to worry. She said the dress should arrive by mid-June. Keep in mind this is a very expensive gown. In June emailed her asking her status of the dress because I hadnt heard from her and she told me it would arrive June 24th. My mom was going to be in town and same with my husbands family so we were excited. Literally an hour before the appointment she calls and emails to cancel because the dress had not arrived. This happens again the following weekend and the dress actually finally arrives July 4th. I had to go in on my day off without any family because everyone was out of town for the holiday. Monica promised me they would get the alterations complete and not to worry. Her seamstress works with her, so I figured she would make it happen. I come to find out, the seamstress had no idea what happened and that it had just arrived a little later than expected. She did one fitting and told me she wouldnt have time for another one because its a complicated hem and there wouldnt be enough time. I told them I was worried about it being too long once pressed which they reassured me it wouldnt and that it would be shorter once pressed (which doesnt make sense). I took it to get pressed and was told not to try it on again until the big day. Well, as expected the dress was WAY too long. The whole time I was walking down the aisle I was telling my dad dont let me fall. In all the photos walking down the aisle you can see the dress rolling under my feet. I was miserable walking the aisle in the gown. I emailed Monica and ask her for the tracking emails to see what went wrong with delivery and she wont send them, she never apologized and didnt even offer to pay for the cleaning. I dont blame the seamstress because shes human, not a magician she physically couldnt complete the task in the time allotted. Monica just wanted to make the sale and wipe her hands clean of it. She assumed absolutely no responsibility despite all her promises. She made no effort to make it right. I have emails to prove all of this and I am happy to share them with anyone who asks with photos to match. She threw her seamstress under the bus, also in email. In the end she stated that her job was to get the dress and she did that, by that subpar standard she could have the gown to you the day before the wedding, but hey she did her job, right?! Im so thankful I never ever have to do business with this woman again. I will never allow anyone even remotely associated with me to do business with her either and I will make sure of it. I dont know how she sleeps at night after putting both me and her seamstress/colleague in that position. If she has a gown you want I would recommend ordering it from someone else if you want quality service.

I enjoyed the shopping experience, the owner was helpfull and friendly and I found a gown I liked. It was another story all together when it came to alterations. I live on the east coast but I am from Portland and wanted to shop with my bridesmaids from Portland. I traveled in to shop and back for alterations and was assured by the women that does the alterations that she was 99% sure it would fit when it arrived. The dress came about three weeks before my wedding and to my dismay did not fit at all and I hadnt fluctuated any in size! I called and spoke with the women that did the alterations and she told me I was trying the dress on wrong, it was very upsetting! The owner was helpfull, she gave me the number to a local alterations shop that dealt with couture gowns. They were able to fix the gown in time and in looking at it they were actually critical of the alterations that had been made. In the end I would not recomend Divine Design to friends, I think it is every brides nightmare that your dress wont fit and going through that experience weeks before my wedding was less than ideal. Overall, I found the alterations experience very unproffesional and I had to pay twice for bridal alterations which are not cheap!

I went into Divine Designs yesterday on my search for a dress. I wasnt treated like a pampered bride and to me, I thought it was no big deal. A little cold, but not really anything I cared about. I told them my budget was about $1000 less than it really was and they did not really have any dresses in the styles I liked in my price range. I couldnt care less about designers, but if you do, and have a good $4000 and up, this would be a great experience. I had to try on strapless dresses (which I loathe) but Nahid was so great and gave me great ideas on how to add straps and accents to an otherwise boring strapless dress. I tried on a couple very pretty dresses, but I ended up not just absolutely loving anything. Monica was not by any means friendly, but I dont think thats her job to be friendly, she wasnt helping me. Nahid was awesome, thank you for your suggestions! However, I ended up purchasing a beautiful dress more fitting to my style elsewhere. Pros: pretty dresses, Nahid is great! Loved the accents they had (jewelry and hair pieces) Cons: spendy frocks, dont be expecting to be treated like a pampered bride (I dont think this is a con, but it might be to some)

If youre looking for a beautiful dress, individualized customer service, Grade A+ alterations and attention to detail, this is your bridal shop in Portland for you! Monica (shop owner) was very helpful in selecting dresses for me to try on that would compliment my body type. I purchased a blush monique lhuillier, that happened to be discounted as part of their sample sale. I kept the dress there for over a year until about a month before the wedding to get alterations done. Alterations was the best part about buying the dress there. A lady named Naahid has been altering professionally for over 25 years and she is a gem!! She altered my dress twice to make sure it was perfect and helped alter my veil and sew on a belt I had purchased as well. She made me feel very special and Im happy she was a part of my experience at Divine Designs. Thank you Monica and Naahid at Devine Designs!! Highly recommend anyone buying their wedding or bridesmaid dress here :)

I went into this store with my sister when she was buying her dress. This store had the WORST customer service I have ever seen. My sister was fortunate to be literally a size 0. She almost looked unhealthy she was so skinny. When my mother told the lady that there really was no budget for the dress I could have sworn she was our new found best friend. She started gossiping about how so many people do not have a big budget and she began discussing how anyone with any extra weight never looks good in a white dress. I was appauled. This was two years ago and now it is my turn to buy a dress. I do not have a budget but I am a size 6. There is no way I would ever go back into this store! Instead I have focused on finding great dress in any other store and refuse to go in there, even though she exclusivly carries some of the lines that I am most interested in.
