PLEASE BEWARE!! My wife went to House of Fashion in September to pick out her wedding dress. Everyone at the store was very nice and helpful when she was there. The problem occurred after the dress was ordered. When she bought the dress she paid in full and was told that the dress would be delivered within 5 to 6 months. They even wrote it on the receipt. My wife waited and when March came around she called to find out when the dress would be in. The people that answered the phone were very rude and could not tell her when the dress would be in. They said a manager would have to call her back. The manager didnt call back until my wife called the store 3 more times. When she did finally call back should told my wife that the dress was not in yet and that she couldnt find out where it was. She said that it should be in by the end of the month. At the end of the month my wife called again and the manager said she didnt know where the dress was. She lied and said that the computer doesnt tell them when the dress would be in. She later told us this wasnt true and that they knew it wouldnt be in until the end of May! Every time my wife got off the phone with her she was in tears. She was extremely rude and said that no one told her 5-6 months and that 8 was normal. I even talked to Allure Bridal and they said that the store was lying that that the dress should have been ready in 4 months. Other bridal salons verified this for me as well. The dress took over 8 months to come in!! It gets worse. When the dress finally came in my wife went to try it on and looked for veils. House of Fashion offered to give her a free veil to make up for the trouble she had been through. They told her they already had a veil on order and that she could have it and guaranteed that it would be the right color. When we went to get it it was white instead of ivory and the manager herself tried to say it was ivory still. My wife knew it wasnt and after she called her out she admitted she lied about the color. My wife was crying and so I asked to talk to the owner who wouldnt talk to me. I talked to the manager and told her my concerns. We talked for a long time and she admitted that they lied about when the dress would be in. She also admitted to not managing the store well and that she needed to do better. I told her that this wasnt the first time and that the reviews were awful. She said she hadnt read them. Who doesnt read their own reviews?? I respect her for admitting it but it was too late. She had already ruined my wifes dress experience. This same problem is all over the reviews so if you want your dress on time DO NOT ORDER from them! They dont seem to take their business seriously and didnt care about us after they took our money.

I had been here a couple years ago to help a friend of mine look for her wedding dress so thought I would go back to look for a wedding dress for myself. I didnt remember it being as bad as many of the reviews. My consultant, if I could call her that, was cool at best to me and my family on introduction. She was a bit snappy to them when looking at dresses on the lower level and I should have left then. We went up stairs and she asked me to describe the dress the type of dress I was looking for and one of my bridesmaids explained what we had liked so far. The "consultant" basically said that we wouldnt be able to find that dress and they didnt have it. After that it just got worse. I tried on about three dresses that they picked out. I dont know where my consultant went at that point but a young lady was doing the best she could to help me get into dresses. Unfortunately we had some difficulty understanding each other due to a bit of a language barrier. After trying on those dresses the consultant came back and I tried to explain a little more what I was thinking and she sent me in the back to look through the dresses. They do have a lot of selection which was one good point. After trying on numerous other dresses the only one that I might of liked was in a size that was WAY to small to even try one. I wanted to know what it was supposed to look like on someone so was looking to see who made the dress and how much it was. At that point the consultant come back and snapped at us again so finally we left. I dont know how many dresses I tried on but I wish I didnt try any. Everyone was miserable by the end. The space was very cramped and there was no where comfortable for my mom and bridesmaids to sit. I was so happy to leave but was very jaded toward wedding dress shopping after my poor experience here.

I read past reviews before making an appointment to try on bridal dresses. I read a lot of negative ones but saw a few positive ones so I had hoped the shop had improved....I WAS SOOO WRONG. My appointment was this past Sunday. When we arrived, it was extremely crowded and it seemed like the staff werent helping anyone; they were just standing behind the counter talking with each other. Another problem is the air conditioning was not on and with the outside weather being close to 100 degrees, it was extremely stuffy and humid inside...but still we stayed. After waiting for 15 minutes we were finally assigned a staff person; her name was Mena (sp). First she gave us the option of 8 dresses to try on...why we werent able to see the full inventory, I have no idea. Then she made us carry the bridal dresses upstairs to the dressing rooms ourselves. I went with my sister and mother and my mother was ticked! To make matters worse, Mena then made me try on my dress by myself; which of course I couldnt so my sister and mother had to squeeze into the dressing room with me and try to help me. I was so upset and appalled, that I didnt even come out of the dressing room. Instead I got dressed and we left. The dressing rooms were the size of a shoe box...JCPENNYs rooms are bigger. Trying on dresses is supposed to be memorable experience and it certainly WAS, it was AWFUL and makes me never want to try on another dress again. Their excuse.."sorry we are busy." I had an appointment, scheduled it 2 weeks in advance and that was the reason they gave me...absoultely RIDICULOUS. If anyone had a good experience at this place, I am sure it was because they went during the week when no one else was there. I would NEVER recommend this place and think the ones who did rate it good, are either lying or they went during their down time.

I was shocked at the lack of professionalism in this store. I felt like a number not a person. There were several other brides there and it seemed like there was hardly any room to walk around. I had called, spoke to a salesperson at great length and told her exactly what I was looking for in a wedding gown. In fact I told her the exact designer and name of the two dresses I was considering. I then made an appointment, I told her I was driving over an hour to get there and I wanted to be certain these two gowns would be available for me to try. She assured me they had the gowns I was looking for plus many others I would love just in case. When I arrived I was left to search through two racks of dresses (about 40 gowns) by myself, I found one other gown that was some what ok looking and then waited 10 mins for her to come back as I was told NOT to remove the gown from the rack but wait for her to do it. The majority of these gowns on the rack were big puffy southern belle types which is no where NEAR the type of gown I was looking for. I wanted a A line, slim fitting gown/mermaid style. When I asked where the gowns were that I had called about and drove over an hour to see, I was told they do not carry those gowns! And that since I am a "larger" women these were the only gowns they carried for someone my size! I tried on the one dress that I chose waited another 10 mins, then simply walked out completely disgusted and angry that I bothered wasting my time and gas to drive there and back for NO reason at all! I would NOT suggest going here unless you want to be treated badly. When I am going to spend $8000 on a gown I expect to be treated like royalty or at least with common courtesy and respect!
