Im so happy to have found this place! Way more stuff than whats on their website so if youre even considering going, just go! My expectations were exceeded in every category: Prices? No idea who has lower prices, especially locally. Selection? Itll probably take 3 more trips to see it all. Customer Service? A very kind and genuine staff who seem happy to have you there. It was my first time there and I didnt see their bag & pen system (think bulk foods). So I go up to the counter right at closing with a pile of capacitors of varying size and price. The gentleman who helped me (owner?) wouldve had every reason to be annoyed. But he was very kind and genuine to a rookie like me. Not even a hint of that elitist attitude we see so often in tech. They were accommodating, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and just seemed happy to be doing something they love. I strongly encourage anyone interested to go and support this store. Its a shame there arent more places like this one. I never write reviews, but I was so impressed that its the first thing I did when I got home. Keep up the great work you guys :-)

Mike, Terry, Ben, Ryan, and all the others rock. The store is kept organized as best they can, with things in logical areas. It IS surplus, so its not perfect, but in general everyone knows where everything is. Prices are more than fair for most things, though occasionally things will get mispriced, but they are quick to fix it when they notice. They carry esoteric, strange, rare, and plain uncommon stuff from all walks of electronics manufacturing. From discrete components to ICs to whole test apparatus to entire server racks. The staff is friendly and polite, and are happy to help when they can. Be polite and politeness is returned. On a more personal note, this store is very dear to me. I go in and see projects waiting to be worked on. This store is like a toy store for geeks. May it never change.

This place is fantastic! The customer service, from the normal staff, is amazing. They genuinely care about you as a customer and offer several discounts for Seniors, Veterans and other distinguished citizens. This is rare. The assortment/range of products is immense. Every component one needs they offer. The downside to this business is the owner, Mike. He is extremely slothful in how he personally conducts his business. By way of not returning emails, phone calls, or even requests to have donated goods appraised (which they offer). However, this does not detract from the experience or the service that the regular employees give to the customers. I have spent several hundred dollars in this store and look forward to spending more. Every time I go here it is an experience.

Ive been to this place quite a few times and I enjoy their wide selection of gadgets and gizmos however... Recently I purchased a 5 meter flexible strip of LEDs for a "20% discount" price of $101 and come change. I ended up wanting some more to use at my shop and decided to shop around online. Much to my surprise I found the EXACT same 5 meter roll of the EXACT same LEDs for UNDER $8 shipped!!! Now I run a business myself and I understand that they need to make money and markup is a normal part of business. But a %1500 percent markup... are you serious? I feel ripped off and will probably never shop here again.

Great place to find pretty much anything and everything in regards to electronic components, batteries, lights, boards, resistors, transistors, power supplies, connectors, switches, honestly the list is endless of what is sold at this store, new and used both at the best prices around, they even beat any and all internet or website prices. If you havent been yet i recommend you go and at least check the place out. The owners/employees are very friendly and helpful to find or get whatever it is youre needing for your job or project. Go check them out, definitely wont be disappointed one bit.

Surplus Gizmos is a business built on really wanting to help the customer and filling the needs of the customer. Ive been to Surplus Gizmos a few times and every time the team helped me find what I was looking for, offered advice on how to use the gadgets and other ideas to help with multiple projects Ive had. This place is a Portland area treasure. For any tinkerer, maker, electronics geek or just love DIY projects. Surplus Gizmos is worth the drive. I cancelled an order 1 day after placing the order. Two days later I get a call saying..."gee were out of stock on that item but we can replace it with this item". Again, I tell them CANCEL and REFUND. Now its been 3 emails and still no REFUND. Take my advice and skip this place.

This store is one of a kind! great staff fantastic prices, also if you wanna sell your things here you can! and most of all they have a whole huge verity of a many different things to choose from. from building a budget computer/server to science experiments they have it.

Great selection of hobby and engineering electronics, random gear and once-in-a-lifetime finds. Quality items at good prices. Ive built a number of projects based on ingredients from Surplus Gizmos. Check back often as the selection changes quite a bit.
