Best Buy Review Best Buy doesnt make anything, their quality is matched by any other reseller of electronic goods. They appeal is again based upon their merchandise, which they do not produce. The defining difference for Best Buy is the quality of their customer service, which is poor at best. So this is my experience with Best Buy in Gresham Oregon, I wouldnt say it was great. I purchased an IPOD Touch for use in a raffle, and taped the gift receipt to the back, intending for it to be drawn and given away. Unfortunately no one won the prize and so I had to return the Ipod. I returned the Ipod in the exact condition I purchased it, sealed from the factory, no wear or tear on the product, in fact I am sure they put it back on the shelf for repurchase. I paid for the merchandise on a credit card and really wanted to just have the funds returned on the credit card. Best Buy has a policy that you cant put the returns back on the credit card without the receipt. I of course had taped the the gift receipt to the back of the package. Because it wasnt the receipt with the credit card number on it, or the amount paid on it they refused to put it on my credit card, which I had with me of course. They claimed that they couldnt be sure it was going on the correct card. Here is the deal of course, if they pull up my account, they can tell every purchase I have made at Best Buy for the last 10 years. It took a half hour to get to the point that we were at at this point. I was running out of time, and so rather then pushing to have him go through the records to credit my credit card, I allowed them to give me an gift card with $180 dollars on it. I dont need 180 dollars worth of merchandise from Best Buy, but I figured I would use it somehow. Fast forward a week or two later, I decided to give my employees gift cards from Best Buy so that they could use them, I was going to split them up into 4 $50 dollar cards and everyone should be happy. I walk into Best Buy in Gresham again get through the line and had over my 180 credit, with an additional credit card to cover the balance. They will not break up the denomination of the gift card for me. They wont allow me to purchase gift cards for my employees using the credit I already have with them. Right now Best Buy has $180 dollars of my money in their accounts, and has had it for a couple of months. The lead manager on shift basically said that that is their policy and there is nothing that he could do. I was not pleased with his lack of concern at all. So I asked him for the Store managers name and number. He provided me the store managers name, and the 1-800 number for their online sales department. I spent about 40 minutes on the line most of the time on hold listening to hold music while I was cut off three times in the course of the call. When I finally got to customer service I explained the situation, and was put on hold again for another six minutes while she talked with her manager. When she came back on line she apologized but said they werent going to do anything to help me out. I am sure their corporate policy makes sense at some level, but I for one will not be voluntarily spending any additional money at this location in Gresham Oregon, nor will I be inclined to use Best Buy as my electronics purchase point. Id rather drive 20 miles to Frys in Wilsonville. I guess Id give them 1 star out of 5 for customer service.

We went into the store and had a screen protector that we bought from another store installed. The very nice lady behind the counter charged us 7 dollars and change and told us that there was a much better screen protector available and we ordered it and had it shipped to us. She said since we bought it at Best Buy when it arrived to bring in the reciept and they would install it for us. Fast forward to today and I wait in line for the Geek squad, and they say there are busy and call someone over from the phone department. The guy walks up and right off the bat he is rude and dismissive. He just says follow me and walks off. I try to tell him why Im there and doesnt even respond. He just says it will be 14 dollars and change to install the screen I try and tell him we were told if we bought it there and had them install it was free, he rudely responded that is our price. I ask why when I had one installed from another store and I was only charged 7 dollars, and attempt to show him the receipt. He again responds that is our price, he doesnt say anything else just stands there. I just turned around and walked back to customer service and returned the item. I would suggest shopping at another Best Buy, this one doesnt seem to think talking in a half way civil tone to customers is important.

Theyre very quick with customer service to sell you a product until you have a complaint then they are slower than molasses in winter and in the end if you have had the product 1 month or 6 months you get the hurry up and wait program and in my case never resolved,5 out of 6 things I have purchased at this location has just given up and died, they buy inferior products and sell them at a highly marked up retail price and then they want to sell a extra warranty at half the cost of the product because they know the crap is going to break, Dont buy here, it will cost you in many ways. I called the corporate office and they said the check is in the mail for a bad product and they must have shot the mailman he hasnt delivered it for weeks, again stay away from BestBuy products unless you wish to buy the same product every month or two, this has been my experience and especially this location..

Looking to upgrade and buy a new tv. Best Buy claims that they will meet or beat any ad. Well I took this ad in to the store and showed them. This ad wasnt a third party ad but from another store. The sales person was very nice and we talked for a bit. The sales person told that he was unable to honor that ad until he talk to his manager. He tried to hail down a manager to his location with no avail. He left my location on foot to find a manager. After about five minutes and he returned my location and told me that his manager had told him they only honor ads within a 30 mile radius. He also told me that they only have a select group of competitors that they will price match with him. We talked for a little bit more and I thank him for his time.

I love this BestBuy. The reps have always been helpful. (That Samsung guy is fantastic!) We like this store so much, we use it for all of our gaming, networking, electronic entertainment, and mobile phone needs. I like the rewards system too. If you sign up and shop, they send certificates to use in the store on a regular basis (although I dont quite understand how the dollar amounts are calculated). If you are signed up for rewards and lose your receipt, you can still make returns no problem. Oh, and they matched the Amazon price for my Samsung wireless charger as well. I didnt know that they did price matching until recently. A pleasant surprise!
