At northern lights, its basically meant for shipping and eating. Its decent to shop on weekdays during school hours. However, crossing Cleveland avenue is a hassle and often times people driving dont pay attention to the pedestrians (not the fault of the shopping center), therefore causing accidents and for pedestrians, getting hit or almost hit by a car (I was almost hit a few times and the drivers know there is a WALK sign for pedestrians to walk, they sometimes try to hit you anyway). The actual shopping center itself is decent, it does tend to get crowded after school hours so be mindful of that (and worse in weekends in the afternoon, but thats to be expected). Also...sirens. 9 times out of 10 you will hear sirens from ambulatory trucks and ladder engines going up and down Cleveland avenue. Other than that its decent.

Please, if you value your life in any way, do not go to this squalid hole of a shopping center. Well, with the exception of the Thrift Store. But seriously. The THRIFT STORE is the nicest place in this strip. Thats saying a lot. People get shot, robbed, and stabbed in this place. Not somewhere you want to find yourself. Even if you live here. And I do, I actually live in this neighborhood and can tell you first hand it is terrible. Nothing charming about it.

Oh Northern Lights, this shopping center has a few stores that you cant find anywhere else, Clown Cone reigns supreme here in my opinion. But other than necessary trips this shopping center is to be avoided. Rude customers are kept in check by even more rude employees. Ive been coming here for over 30 years and the last 20 have seen a steady decline in the quality of the stores and their patrons.

Needs to be kept cleaner in the kroger parking lot. Dirty diapers, fast food bags full of trash, empty BOXES of diapers, empty cigarette packs, broken down grocery carts, etc. Always, Always, stay aware of your surroundings. There are a couple of places I shop here but for the most part, I use other locations. They do have a good variety of shopping and eating though.

KROGERS !!!! Located inside the Northern Lights shopping Center, is the worst store ever, Completely unorganized, horrible customer service, this store is very nasty kept, as far as cleanness goes, the store Manager seemed to have knowledge of carrying Organic foods, he went as far to say, We dont really do organic foods in this store ! Wow

The reason why I have this 3 stars is that this shopping center could be so much more: cleaner, redesigned layout, and better stores. I personally believe that Cleveland Avenue from Morse Road (161 even) south to downtown will and SHOULD be gentrified. The shopping center should pursue that forward thinking NOW.

As much as I go there and like the convenience I wish I could give this place more stars, but for safety reasons I cannot. Several times I have been approached by strange people (mostly men) asking for money mostly, I even had a guy grab my door and not let me close it. Not the best neighborhood. Be Careful!!!!

On a very rare occasion you will find someone who treats you like an equal or even a normal customer. Most places at northern lights hire the rudest non customer service folks Ive ever seen. Like, just being there trying to give them money is ruining their day.

Ok place I guess. Stores are worth the visit only if you live in the area strictly a convenience thing. Except Kroger. I recommend the new one at Karl and Morse. There is a high chance you could get robbed mooched and/or in an accident driving around here.

This area is the shopping center I grew up to. I always come here for groceries and the people are always nice. There is mostly african american race that populate the area, there is alot to do and many places for food and clothes.

I used to go into this store frequently for work. I got harrassed by people in parking lot a lot. Begged for money, was always dirty in the parking lot and line at service desk is always long i never tried to use service desk.

Visited city trend saw an outfit for my two year old great neice for her birthday then went to rainbows to buy an outfit for my future wife & we couldnt find anything what so ever we even had the same issue @ shoppers world.

The reason why I go to Northern Lights is because of Great Clips Great liquor and great places to get different type of styles you like its a great Plaza that I recommend anybody who lives around there

The city bus main routes come here and make it an unruly shopping experience. The stores located here are nice.. but you get too many beggars near the Radio shack, and beverage store.

Never had a bad experience but it seems very unsafe. Use common since and lock up your things. There is a large selection of shops here. Kroger, Infinity 99, Popeyes, A&W, US Bank etc..

There are alot of great shops in this plaza from the thrift store save alot the .99 store the nail shop & the laundry mat where if u wash there the dry is free.

There are a couple of thrift stores here, but it is a very high crime area. I suggest groups, I personally have been robbed here twice.

Its a little run down, but its not bad. Theres a Kroger and an awesome thrift store. Theres also a great thrift store across the street.

Bus turn around heading south but the northbound buses dont use the same turn around, the pick up is across in front of Burger King

Some cool shopping spots, not a great area at nighttime, but its unlikely youll run into trouble. Cops frequent the parking lots.
