Good products, but their warranty is horrible. I spent $140.00 on a pair of mens 10.5 Salomon shoes. In less than three months they unloosen as I run and they are no longer water proof. REI would not warranty it even though they give a year on them. Unfortunately, this will be the last pair of shoes I buy at REI. Sorry REI, but you lost a good customer whos spent $2k with you in the last year :( Worse yet, someone who worked there today was telling a potential customer about their one year warranty on their shoes. I was upset about this because I just was told the opposite five minutes earlier when I tried to return my shoes. I told the potential customer the bad experience I just had.

I thought REI was all about customer service? Apparently the bike shop manager Alex didnt get the memo. It was all fine and dandy when they first put my bike together and gave it a tune up…until I rode it. The gears were messed up due to their assembly and when I brought my bike in Alex tried to tell me it was another completely irrelevant and dishonest problem. He wanted to charge me more money to "lube" my bicycle and it was obviously a cable problem. I will never be back…I brought my bike to a real bike shop where they fixed REIs mistake. All the professional bike repairmen laughed at REIs/Alex the bike managers mediocre attempt to get more money out of me.

My Townie Bike had a very unusual situation causing the rear frame to break. The bike was aproximately 5 years old. The bike was never off the pavement and I weigh only 185 lbs. When I told REI CINCINNATI about my problem they were out standing in their help and consideration. Not only did they contact Electra, the builder of Townie bikes, but they negotiated a new bike and upgrades as well. A big THANK YOU goes out to, Rich, Doug and Phil for their kindness, consideration and professionalism thru this process. I would recommend becomming a member of REI if you are not already. I love REI. They have everything you could ever want to fuel your outdoor adventures. In fact the hat I am wearing in my picture is one of the first things I ever purchased at REI. The products are little more expensive than the average item youd find, but the quality is exceptional. Everything I have ever bought at REI has lasted me on countless trips and help up to everything I have thrown at it. Actually realizing that all the gear I have every purchased is still going strong. Why do find out the pricing on their products on the high end the products are usually very good quality, offered in a variety of options, but what I would like to review most incredibly talented and knowledgeable friendly and helpful staff especially in the bicycle maintenance department with a completely overhauled a 50 year old bicycle for me for roughly $120 and made it almost brand-new I cannot say enough good things about their bicycle maintenance death

I had an excellent experience at this location purchasing a new pair of hiking boots. All the staff I encountered were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly (particularly Brian who assisted most with my sizing and pulling stock for me to try out). Despite it being minutes before closing on a Sunday night, I received great helpful service as did all the other patrons trying on shoes. Will definitely be going there again when these boots wear out.

High prices and they do not price match. When I found an item for nearly 40% cheaper elsewhere, they would not price match and all I got from the employee was a snarky reply of, "When they can match our return policy, we will match their prices. That must have fallen off of a truck or something haha." Well, guess what, I could not possibly care any less about your return policy, and it just cost you a sale and probably a customer.

REI has an excellent return policy, they know their products, and the have a member dividends program. Sometimes the internet might beat their prices but when buying something like backpacking gear it helps to have advice from people who know the goods and who can measure you etc. I like this place better than field and stream which seems more hunting and fishing oriented than backpacking.

REI is always a positive experience, but this one is a little small and frequently has a pretty long line that wraps around and into the store blocking the water bottles. Definitely the best place to go for anything outdoors, though - much better than Cabelas or Dicks or anything.

I love this store! So much cool stuff. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. I went in Sunday and dropped a boatload of money on things for an upcoming adventure and I got big time discounts because of the sales and member coupons. Ill be back.

Bunch of staff there but none wanted to really help. Seemed they were more interested in talking to each other than helping me. Finally got the help I needed but it wasnt very helpful. But over all they have anything you need for the outdoors

The staff was very helpful but I thought the selection of boots was a little underwhelming. They had dozens on display, but only a handful of those were out on the floor in boxes for you to try on.

Cody was super helpful and patient in backpacks. I tried on like 4 different backpacks, and hiked around the shop. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and I appreciated all his great help/advice.
