No customer support after the purchase. I purchase a weight set at the Newnan GA store and one of the star nuts was misthreaded and would not screw on. I took the nut to the store and a manager named Steven, who had terrible customer service and communication skills, told me he couldnt help me and I would need to take back the entire 110lb set. I told him I already discarded the boxes and I only needed the 2in round nut. It would be difficult to bring an unpackaged weight set and bars back to the store. Steven said he couldnt do anything else for us. I saw lots of these star nuts in the displays and I asked to speak to Steven again but he told a store associate to tell me he wouldnt talk to me again and I had to take my whole set back or purchase another nut myself. The guy wouldnt even come out and talk to me again. I called customer service and they gave me the number of the weight manufacturer and told me to call them. Dicks and Wal-Mart wouldnt have done this to me. I think Im done with Academy after this.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Manager on duty was rude total jerk. They had an item I wanted to buy but I needed to go get my trailer, I asked if I could pay for it and come pick it up in 2hrs. They said they cant hold items in the back, I told him well thats not true because they held my grill for me just this past summer, but ok can you just put a sold sign on it since it...s the last one, again No was the answer. I am confused if I pay for it now why cant you put sold on it? "Because I wont" wow I was a huge fan of Academy but now this one guy has caused me to hate this place! Not sure why people have to be so arrogant and just make shopping and spending my money a pleasant experience! Incase anyone wonders what store Newnan Georgia location on this Sunday April 19th 2015. Best of luck to you Academy you lost one customer forever, I am sure youre not worried.

As a black female I have rarely experienced being followed around a store. This was my first experience and worst of all with my kids. They will never see me or my money again!! At first I was impressed with the "good morning, and are you finding everything ok and is there anything we can help you with" and then I noticed I was the only one they were saying it too WOW. Then when we proceeded to the check out my bag was the only one searched because they had been having problems with the sensors. I would like to say thank you for allowing my son to see how some of you people really see him.

Update: Not only did we wait a total of 20 minutes to receive an answer regarding this display/discontinued item, once we received an answer, we were offered 10% off of the marked price. This item had visible scuffs, shoe prints, and ink stains, the employees themselves had cut off the zipper to prevent people from unzipping it in store, and we were told it was discontinued. At this point, this bag was used, but the manager on duty apparently believes that a used item should sell for $5 less than brand new.

He was totally great, and please make sure to find him if you want to feel you are special there. I was totally impressed by the excellent customer service I received from this gentleman.
