Would not recommend this store to anyone! SHADY salesman. My wife and I received a Weber Grill for a wedding gift and I had no idea what type of propane tank I needed so I just thought I would go to Scheels Hardware. Well the salesman showed me where the new tanks were, a little more expensive then most places, but I figured that it would be worth it. He walked the new tank up the the register with me, then asked if I wanted it filled - what good is an empty tank worth - So of course I said yes to fill it. He told me that the dont actually fill the tanks on site, but they could do a rapid exchange... So I had to pay even more money. When all was said and done I ended up walking out of Scheels spending almost $100 for a used tank. So like I said, I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is very expensive and the salesmen are shady.

I have been shopping at Scheels Hardware since I was a boy, when Scheels was downtown. I have purchased numerous items over the last 50 years and have come to trust the store. I am able to get reliable advice and a store associate is always willing to walk me to the aisle that I am looking for. Perhaps their prices are higher than Menards, but the personal service is worth it. I dont have to walk around in a big box store wasting time and energy. I recently purchased a Weber gas grill and it was defective. Scheels came right out and replaced it the same day.

My Minnkota Talon broke, so I dropped it off on a Tuesday and by Thursday they had it fixed. Very very impressed with the quick turn around and amazing customer service. If you need your Minnkota product repaired this is the place to get it done.

Any employee at a Scheels store is always eager to help and very friendly. This is an Ace Hardware store with all of the local hardware and small pieces you are looking for. They have the same small town feel as well.

Fantastic service before and after the sale. They will handle all warranty work for products they sell. I bought my Toro snow blower from them for that very reason.
