I was really surprised by the size of this Mast General Store, thinking that Waynesville wouldnt have one that big. The whole bottom level was the candy and food ( I dont recall ever seeing one that had 3 levels), the main level was clothing, hats, etc. and had another section off it that was just the shoes, and then the third level was the camping gear. It didnt have as much camping/hiking gear as others, but we found a couple things we wanted there. The employees were great, very friendly and helpful. I love Mast General Store, and I will definitely go back to this one when we are in the area again.

This downtown staple has a vast selection of pretty much anything and everything: from camping gear, to clothing, penny candy and a wide selection of gifts, the three floors are stocked full for your shopping pleasure.

Mast has a great selection of clothes, hats, shoes, accessories and outdoor gear. The Waynesville Mast is a must visit if only to experience uniqueness of the building. The hardwood floors creak with every step. Just a cool experience. Also, I think there is an old time candy store connected!

Fun spot to lose an hour on a rainy afternoon - they have a huge selection of outdoorsy clothes, folksy home goods, "penny" candy, and toys. They occasionally have good sales that make their wares more available to the masses. Otherwise, most things are priced for the wealthier tourist crowd.

Great location for MGS. The selection here is not as comprehensive as other locations Ive visited, but the staff are super friendly and helpful. On busy weekend days I would recommend parking in the free city lot about a block back from main street.

Awesome store. Lots of old time candy selections for the older folks (younger also). Great toy selections from the past. Literally took a trip back to my childhood. We walked out with Gumby and a few other selections. We need more stores like this.

Great semi-touristy spot. Clothes/shoes on main, outdoors-y gear upstairs and old-timey candy, gifts, kitchen gear and games/toys on the lower level. Great old squeaky building. Always worth a quick tour bit we never get out quickly.

Wide variety of products. They have clothes, shoes, old fashioned candies by the pound, sodas in glass bottles, vintage toys and more. I have to stop at this store every time I am in Waynesville it really has something for everyone.

Most people say the floors are squeaky, but downstairs it sounds like a herd of elephants are overhead. They have a good selection of local themed merch, and fresh popcorn next to all of the candy barrels as well. Whats not to love?

Superb! My sister & I are from NH. Every time we visit our cousin in Waynesville, we shop at Mast General store. As my cousin says, "If this store doesnt have it, you dont it". Very true & we love it. I give it a thums up!

A must see for anyone on vacation or living in the mountains. Great selection hiking and out door shoes, not to mention all the gear one could need. Classy clothes and the downstairs is full of cute gifts, toys and candy.

Fun old fashion store with tons of fun discoveries. A must see. Old creaky wood floors. 3 levels. Candy barrels and cookware downstairs. Clothing and shoes on main level. Camping and hiking supplies upstairs.
