A top-notch coffee shop, in my opinion. After a series of random events, I found myself washed up at Sunset Beach, NC; and, in search of some good coffee and a place to eat my lunch, I spied Mavericks Java on its pleasant roadside lot. To my surprise, the shop turned out to be everything I wanted: good espresso at a good price in a good location -- and organic coffee to boot! The barista who waited on me was friendly and attentive (and obliged my order for a weird, single-shot Americano); also, the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. In the end, I sat out front under an umbrella, eating good food and drinking good coffee and reading a good book -- excellent! In my lunch hour spent at Mavericks, all was right in the world, and I left with a special satisfaction. My thanks goes out to all associated with this business. I am grateful for, and have benefited from, your work and service. Keep it up, guys and gals!

Disappointed. We vacation annually in the area and was excited when this place appeared on the scene last year. They were extremely inefficient with poor customer service and lukewarm lattes, but we chalked it up to a new establishment getting up to speed for the summer season. We returned today hoping for a better experience, but to no avail. It took 3 people 20 minutes to prepare our lattes - and they were still lukewarm. The Sunset Beach/Ocean Isle area needs a good coffee shop, but sadly this is not it.

Best coffee shop! Great coffee drinks and cafe food. Vicky the owner of Mavericks Java is the most friendliest person you will EVER meet and makes you feel welcomed. As well as the staff. Just a wonderful relaxing place to have a cup of coffee or a bite to eat.

Pleasant staff and the shop is clean. However, I found it surprising that they provided only powdered cream for the coffee. If you just want a regular cup of coffee, you are better off going to one of the chain stores.

Love the atmosphere and availability of wine and food! Sandwiches are delish! We git our order and went to eat it on one of the park benches across the street

Poor customer service, sub-par coffee. The whole place is setup inefficiently. Really too bad since they are right off of Sunset Beach. Wont be returning.
