Ive been to Value Village a couple of times, mainly for their large selection of books. They have one of the largest book selections of any of the local thrift stores. However, they also have one of the most convoluted book pricing methods. Other thrift stores, like the local Goodwills, charge a flat price for hardbacks and softbacks. Goodwills hardbacks are $1.25 and their paperbacks are $0.75. That makes it easy on both customers and cashiers. Not so at Value Village. For paperbacks, they write numbers on the book spine and you have to compare the numbers to a chart on the wall to find out how much the book costs. For hardbacks, they write the price on the spine. The prices are odd, the majority of paperbacks are $1.91, but some are $2.12 or $2.42. Best I can figure, books are priced based on the number of pages. Its a ridiculous pricing system and I hate that they write on the spines. It would truly make it easier on everyone if theyd just price all paperbacks and all hardbacks the same. If youre looking for mens clothes, good luck. They have a ton of them, but theyre not sorted by size. With those basic gripes out of the way, let me share my experience on my most recent trip. I was there in the evening on a 50% off day. I had a few items of clothing, a huge cart full of books and a trampoline safety net. I had already checked on the price of the trampoline net with one of the clerks. She found the price ($78) and told me that it would be half off. That was great since they are around $100 new. I could swing $39, but paying $78 is too close to retail to be a good deal. I lined up when they called over the intercom to announce the store closing in a few minutes. The cashier looked a little freaked out when she saw my cart full of books and the manager came over. The first words out of his mouth were to tell me that the trampoline net wasnt on sale because it was a special item. I told him that I had checked the price with one of the clerks and they had already told me it was on sale. He caught an attitude very quickly and told me that it would be full price. It was very heavy, so I left it. The manager took over the register and started ringing up the books telling the cashier to count them out. I had already divided them into their different aforementioned convoluted pricing categories and tried to let him know how many of each I had, but he completely ignored me even talking to him. I asked him a question about the pricing and he wouldnt respond, he just kept talking to the cashier. He wouldnt even respond to me when I asked him if he wasnt answering me on purpose. The clerk had put the books into boxes, which I picked up and put on a cart. As I started to leave, he told me that I couldnt use the cart because the store was closed and the carts couldnt leave the store. The boxes probably weighed in excess of 80-100lbs each. I told him that Id need help taking the boxes out if I couldnt use a cart to push them to the car. He made some employees do it while he watched from inside. As we walked to the car, the employees let me know that they cant stand this particular manager and that hes frequently a jerk to them and customers. My experience with this one manager was enough to make me not want to shop there again. For the most part, the items here were in worse condition, not organized as well, and more expensive than the things I usually see at other thrift stores in the area.

I been in Value Village couple of time. They do have great clothes, books and other thing. But there No return policy..No Bathroom ..No Fitting room. Which is pretty darn annoying!! When I recently went; the cashier name Arusa was really helpful. She help with all the discounts for that day. When I went to the same cashier for check out. She point out one my clothe didnt had a price tag. The cashier told me policy was they cant sale item without tags. Even thought that was the policy. The cashier call up her manger for the price. Which was really nice of her!! I really need that shirt badly for interview I was going to have next day. But overall I only give them a three star. Because the store need change up there policy.

First of all I called and a young lady answered phone and it seemed that she could barely understand English. I purchased a blow up mattress and I put air in it and it wouldnt hold it. I called the store and explained that I had purchased it less than a week ago and I know they had a thirty day policy. I was told the policy was only for clothes. I asked do they check theses things to see if they work and I was told no because most of the time they dont have a pump. So my question is although it is a thrift store, why would you sell something that you are not sure even works?

This places most outstanding characteristic is its very large size. The contents however appear to mostly be the kind of stuff that doesnt sell at a regular yard sale. They may have decent prices on things but a good bit of the stuff in here I think they wouldnt even be able to give away but because of the sheer quantity its worth perusing because undoubtedly there are some hidden gems. Also minus points for not having a public restroom which seems inexcusable in a place this size

I used to shop at the Greensboro store but moved and this store is no longer convenient. Today I had some time so I took a drive here to shop. Total waste of time. The store was so dimly lit it was hard to see things. Then noticed the dressing rooms were gone. I asked a employee about the dressing room and she said they didnt have them What the heck!!! Will not be back here. Horrible place. Dont see how this place makes it.

Some clothes are sorted by sizes and others are by type. A single organization system would be great. I found a couple of nice items, but the prices were way too high. Seriously, $7.50 for a womens blouse, $10.50 for womens jeans. They had a couple of colored tags that were 50% off, but I didnt come across any items that had tags of those colors. Ill probably check them out once more, but if its not better, I wont be back.

Dont go into this store thinking "thrift shop". Be thinking department store. This place is huge. They have everything you need if you are shopping for clothes but they also carry paper towels and other household items including some food stuffs and soda. Be prepared to have your mind changed regarding whatever you thought a thrift shop should be. Luv this place.

My best friend showed me this place and I fell in love with all the cool stuuff I found. There is alot of vintage househlod items. They carry alot of clothing for men women and kids .Prices are good and sometimes they run a 50% off sale. Only negative is there isnt a public restroom or dressing rooms .
