I purchased my wedding dress from Hayden Olivia after some extensive researching and trying on just about every dress in the greater Charlotte area (I’d say 10+ stores and at least 50 dresses). I really enjoyed the atmosphere and laid back attitude of the employees. I tried my dress on 4 separate times and never once felt rushed or pressured into actually purchasing my gown. They do a maximum of three appointments at a time so each bride receives individual attention, isn’t fighting for a mirror and has ample room for any guests to sit comfortably and watch the process. The bridal consultants never made feel pressured to go outside of my budget, that being said, it is a high end boutique so if you’re not prepared to spend $3,000 on a dress this may not be the right store. I’d say the range starts from the mid-2,000 and beyond. I was able to find my dream dress for under my budget so there are beautiful options at every price point. The atmosphere is very hip, with beautiful wooden floors and plenty of walking around space. The selection is hand chosen by the owner and features a variety of styles. She has truly wonderful taset!! I particularly liked the process of picking the gowns, you get pins to mark the dresses you like and you can shop on your own (the prices are clearly marked on every dress). The consultant then takes the dresses into a fitting room and helps you into them. They have a very nice raised platform where you can show your entourage each dress. The shipping was very quick (I got my dress in 4 months) and they kept me updated the entire time. They even called me when it shipped from the manufacturer. I also got my alterations at Hayden Olivia. While the seamstress did a great job with the actual alterations she needs to seriously work on her customer service skills. First, I had purchased a veil from another shop (HO does not carry Debra Moreland) and brought it in to have it shortened. The seamstress asked me who the designer was and after I told her she began to ask me over and over again how much I paid for it. After asking me several times and me respectfully declining she literally pulled my mother aside and demanded to know how much it was. I mean come on! Who does that? It was so disrespectful that I cannot even begin to explain. She also explained to me that I had better like how the dress fit now because this would be my only fitting. I was instructed that if I lost weight she would charge me an additional $200 (I’m hoping this was a joke) but I expected her to see this as a first fitting and to plan on altering the dress again at my second fitting. When I arrived for my second fitting the dress fit well enough that I just took it home with me – could it have fit better? Yes. At her suggestion we ended up just using the double sided body tape to make sure everything was snug. This is of course less than ideal but she seemed pretty unwilling to do more work. I also asked at my initial fitting that any scraps from my dress and veil be saved so I could make Christmas ornaments, well that didn’t happen, so now I’ll either have to destroy my dress or go without the keepsake for my bridal party and relatives. My overall recommendation if you want a casual and comfortable shopping experience where you won’t feel pressured, can make as many appointments as you’d like, and have a truly awesome selection of dresses to pick from buy your dress at Hayden Olivia. I honestly cannot recommend a better store, staff or shopping experience in all of Charlotte. After buying that dress take it to a tailor you feel comfortable with.

I cannot say enough good things about Hayden Olivia. Hayden Olivia saved my wedding and my sanity. After ordering a dress from another local bridal boutique (J. Majors) in November, my bridal portraits were scheduled for early May and my wedding was set for June 13. When my dress finally arrived in early April, IT WAS THE WRONG DRESS. J. Majors displayed absolutely no urgency in correcting the error - a week after the wrong dress was delivered, they still could not tell me if I would be able to get the CORRECT dress in time for my wedding. I wasnt getting anywhere with the designer (Pronovias) either. Needless to say, this was a worst case scenario. Hayden Olivia came to my rescue... They allowed me to try on dresses without even having an appointment. I fell in love with a beautiful Modern Trousseau dress that could be rush ordered. We ordered the dress the following day, and it arrived one week later - in plenty of time for both my bridal portrait session and my wedding. Aside from having the most beautiful gowns in Charlotte, their customer service is impeccable. I was panicked when I arrived at Hayden Olivia, and Lauren immediately put me at ease. She was sweet and courteous throughout all of my visits. Even when I requested a last minute change to my dress, Lauren was unflappable - immediately calling the designer in order to coordinate the change. WONDERFUL experience!!!! I tried a few other shops and none can compare. From the minute I walked in the boutique manager, Laura, was very eager to hear what kind of dress I was looking for. She instantly made me feel like I was just shopping with a good friend! After she had walked me through store we found a few that fit what I was looking for and in that bunch was myyy dress!! All of the staff at Hayden Olivia made it such a simple, enjoyable experience. When my dress did come in some major alterations were needed. Mia, who is in charge of alterations, did a BEAUTIFUL job pulling my organza dress in and hemming it. She was very patient with me and quick to look over anything I wanted adjusted. In the midst of all the wedding planning my mom was having a terrible time finding the right dress. We tried countless shops but everything was either way too old or way too young. While visiting Hayden Olivia for one of my final fittings we spoke with this lovely Australian designer who works with the boutique (eh Im totally blanking on her name...). She was a HUGE help!! She dropped everything to go over different dresses with my mom, discussed how she could customize it to best fit her shape, and let me tell you it turned out stunning!! It was well worth it just being able to see my mom glowing in her dress!! If you want to be in a place where you are surrounded by friends, Hayden Olivia is the place to go!

I could not have had a better experience finding my perfect wedding dress! All of the staff at Hayden Olivia were beyond fabulous! They were so knowledgeable about all of the dresses and fits! I was very overwhelmed when I first started dress shopping because I had no idea what I was looking for, but they were so helpful and I quickly found the style I didnt know I was looking for. I was really impressed with their relationships with all of the dress designers. There was a dress I was thinking about modifying, which made me a little nervous. The shop owner was able to speak with the dress designer while I was in the store and confirm that the modification was a possibility. Needless to say, I found my dream dress and the modifications were gorgeous! Mia was a genius when she was altering my dress. The dress fit like a glove and the hem and bustle were perfect! I recommend Hayden Olivia to everyone I know who is dress shopping. They made shopping for my wedding dress a dream experience!
