So I had a great experience as well as a bad experience with the customer service. A friend and I went in this Ulta to check out the foundations and generally just look around. Asked one employee about foundations for olive undertones and she helped a tremendous amount, suggested I look at the Pur line of makeup and we had a genuine conversation. Everything felt very natural, and whenever I was ready to move on she got the cue, I thanked her and went on my way. I think she had glasses, she was very nice and I actually felt quite keen on checking out her recommendations. Ended up at the Lancome section to check out the foundations. Was checking out one shade that I really liked when another employee (older woman) approached me and asked me if I needed help. At that point, I was good, I was just looking and was forming my own opinion. Despite me saying I was just looking, she became increasingly pushy. Started to go through every type of foundation Lancome offered, kept asking me a bunch of questions, started to move onto if Ive tried the skincare at Ulta and kept going even after I said I already have my own skincare routine and again, was just looking. I knew she knew I wasnt being receptive because she even said "You know, Im just here to help you". I ended up leaving and I didnt even get the time I wanted with that foundation because I wanted to avoid further conversation. I am by no means antisocial, however I get extremely uncomfortable in situations like this where you feel almost suffocated/trapped by the sales person. What Im getting at is, tell your employees to not be pushy. Learn to take cues from customers and focus more on connecting with the customer and leaving them alone if they do not seem receptive. I will most likely not come back to this location.

This is a horrible store! Its sad that this isnt a better store. Most Ulta locations are not close together. Thus the next closest locations would be White Oaks at Garner, South Point in Durham, or all the way over to Brier Creek. I went to this store because it was closest to where I had errands to run yesterday. Anyway, I bought a Tarte foundation last week. When I opened the box Monday morning I realized immediately I had grabbed the wrong shade off the shelf. I went to exchange it for the exact same product only a shade lighter. When I went to the register to make my exchange they wouldnt let me. I had thrown out the receipt (I am a regular wearer of this particular foundation from Tarte and didnt see the need to keep the receipt when I got home) and I didnt use my rewards card. I was shopping on my original trip with a friend I dont remember if the cashier used her card or I just didnt use one at all. Anyway, because I didnt have the purchase on my rewards card and no receipt the cashier said no. I asked to speak with a manager as it was ridiculous that she wouldnt let me make a "like-for-like" exchange. The manager ended up overriding the system to make the exchange but I had to pay 20 cents extra. Thats a whole other tangent. Anyway, this store is awful. Its not as clean and organized as most Ultas and they cashier wasnt particularly helpful or logical or apologetic for the crazy policies. I will never go back to this Ulta. I will go to White Oak in Garner first.

Like all Ultas, it has lots of products. The frustrating thing for me is that although the sales on their own brand are good, it doesnt stock its own brand (Ulta brand) well at all, at least foundations. I have been in quite a few times now only to find 0 or maybe 1 of the cream foundation that I use, when I wanted to take advantage of the "buy two, get two free" deal. But I cant do that, because there is only 1 in stock. If it were just one time...but it is constant. And the salespeople say they know its a shame, but I should go to a different location, or order online. I live maybe 3 minutes from this location--I shouldnt have to drive way out of my way to another one, or pay shipping online. Its a good product and its affordable, so I dont want to switch, but it is frustrating to feel like Im having to fight to buy it.

DO NOT GET SERVICE AT THIS ULTA!! They will permanently damage your hair. This is especially bad if you are natural as the damage is not reversible and will eventually lead you to have to cutting the hair you spent years growing naturally. Im beyond disgusted and heartbroken by the lack of care, especially since my stylist was supposed to be a senior stylist (which also means her service cost more than others). Even a novice hair stylist knows the heat limit you should put on hair but she fried my hair and destroyed my curl pattern. It will take years before my hair is back to how it was before that service. ULTA you are a disgrace to hair stylist and care! Youve destroyed my hair.

Ulta offers a small selection of overpriced waxing products. I have not found a decent wax that works provided by Ulta. I now buy all my waxing products at Sallys . I needed some strips and bought a 40 pack from Ulta and they are the MOST TERRIBLE I have ever gotten in my years of waxing! They were so thin that the wax seeped through and got all over my fingers. If I made the wax layer super thin then the strip just ripped off the part that was not attached to the wax. Lets just say this was the most difficult time I have ever had waxing my legs. I will never go to Ulta for my waxing needs.

Ive been to the brow bar a few times and have always had great service, but other parts of the store could be improved. The drugstore section never has quantities of anything popular. The "Makeup Revolution" section probably had 12 items total in it and all of them were laying stacked so you couldnt see them. If you need assistance, this probably wont be the best store for you to go to because they seem understaffed, but if you find someone to help you, I have always had positive experiences. I hope that they can hire more people because I believe it will fix most of their issues.

Drove an hour to visit my 1st Ulta and in the 20 minutes I was there NOBODY said one word to me. Pretty disappointed. No one of your staff members even attempted to engage in a conversation whatsoever. Pretty disgusting. I will never visit your store on Crossroads again. Ill take my business to sephora and spend my money there. They have never been rude to me. A couple hundred dollars is money well spent at Sephora. I wont spend not a dime at your store. Terrible service :( terrible 1st experience at Ulta.

This location is not my favorite by far. It gets very busy. The remodeling looks nice though. The staff (cashiers) are nice but everyone else is snooty and act high-and-mighty. I kind of expect that, being in Cary and all, but its just wrong. Prices are high but that is mostly on the things are are expensive anyway. I like most of the Ulta brands items, but usually dont buy. I would rather buy off-brand stuff from a store that doesnt look down on people. :)
