I spent hours studying and looking for the right diamond engagement ring on the internet since I work long hours and usually six days a week. I stumbled across Joint Venture Jewelry and they had many choices that fit my taste, budget, and quality expectations. I took time off from work and made the one hour drive to their store. The ring choices I narrowed down were all consignment pieces and as advertised with correct details and each piece advertised online matched the store items and prices. The integrity and quality of their website is outstanding. The store experience was even better. I was helped by both the owner Donna Hankin and associate Laura Traud. Despite having picked rings that were all under $2,000 I was treated as if I had a million bucks. It did not take long to narrow my choices even further and for Donna and Laura to fully understand exactly what I was looking. Then Donna showed me another ring that I had not originally previewed or considered and it turned out to be perfect and the one I purchased. An extra bonus was to find that it has a GIA Dossier which is something I really wanted! So I found the perfect quality diamond ring and at the price I wanted to pay (they accepted my offer which was about 10% less than what they were asking). I am excited to have found a reputable family owned jewelry store with impressive selection, quality, and service to back it up. I also met Lee Hankin, owner & co-founder, who made it a point to come up and introduce himself. Donna and Laura were both very helpful. Donna was especially knowledgeable and gifted with great expertise and insight. I really think this is the place if you are looking to pay a reasonable price for quality and like me wish to get the most for your hard earned money and avoid the usual inflated retail stores. I undoubtedly saved more than $1,000, received first class service, and could not be happier!

Long review but a good read!: On December 18, 2016 my boyfriend of 6 years asked me to marry him! It was the most exciting moment in my life thus far!! I put my ring on it was so perfect I couldnt even breathe. The ring felt a little snug but not too tight. We celebrated that night and went out to dinner and as the night went on, the ring got tighter and tighter on my finger. By the end of the night I had to run my hands under water and use soap to get the ring off. It was so stuck it bruised my knuckle! I was devastated! Ive waited 6 years for this moment and I cant even wear my new gorgeous ring. The next day we decided to call a few places to see if they could do same day sizing so I could have the ring to announce to our families on Christmas eve. No one could do it :(. My fiancé said to me lets go to Joint Venture, my family has taken a lot of stuff to them and they never disappoint! When we arrived I was very sceptical that theyd be able to size my ring for me before Christmas, only because its the holidays and who isnt busy around the holidays? We talked to Lee and Donna (the owners) and my fiancé told them "shes been waiting 6 years for this" and they said theyd do everything in their power to have it back to us by Christmas eve. Boy did they do an amazing job! They under promised and over achieved! I had my ring back on Friday before Christmas! It was the perfect size and sparkling more than I remembered. On Christmas eve we were able to tell both our families and it was so exciting. Thank you, thank you, thank you Joint Venture!!! I highly recommend Joint Venture!! Dont miss out on this amazing customer service!

I went to Joint Ventures on July 9th for an estimate of how much they would charge to have my diamond pendant reset into an engagement ring for my daughter. The 3 carat diamond had been in my family for 70 years, originally worn by my father in a white gold inlaid setting. When he gave the diamond to my mother, she had it reset in a high-pronged gold ring. My mother gave the ring to me when she was 85, and I had the diamond reset into a pendant which I wore only occasionally because I considered it too "dressy." I did not want to wait until I was 85 to give this treasured object of affection to my daughter. Donna at Joint Ventures showed me the exact ring setting my daughter had described and quoted a price within my budget. They assured me that the ring could be made and shipped within a week for the proposal, and I appreciated them working within a rather tight time frame. TRUST is the reason that I decided not to go to any other jeweler for a competing estimate. At Joint Venture, I feel that they have my best interests at heart and I know that they will give me the best value. They are like family and Donna couldnt wait to hear how my daughter Leia liked the ring. By the way, Leia was over the moon!! This is the third piece of jewelry that I have purchased at Joint Venture and I will keep returning to my "family" jeweler.

Super lovely - and super pushy? :( I love how unique this store is and the selection they carry. They truly are a gem in the Triangle, and many of the pieces are unforgettable. However, where this otherwise would have been a five-star review, my husband and I were talking about our friends - whom bought their engagement and wedding band from Joint Venture. My husband shared that he nearly bought mine there as well (he proposed October 2009). He said upon visiting the store, he was really connecting with the sales associate. He knew I had zero interest in a diamond ring, but instead would fall in love with something unique and sapphire. But just like the big chains stores, however, he said once he spilled the words engagement ring, a manager lady came over to help, showing him their diamond selection. He explained that I did not want diamonds, but she insisted (pushy was his word) that diamonds were the only way to go for an engagement ring. Sadly, despite the beautiful nature of the store, my (now) husband chose to walk out and do more research. Lucky for us, he found another store in the Triangle that is run by jewelry artists who worked with him and created the perfect ring. It was worth his drive to Chapel Hill to find somewhere beautiful, unique, and who would listen to him.

2.5 stars. Not the warmest group of folks. A bit snooty and rapport with me as the customer had sarcastic undertones. We gave them a ring to sell in Aug 2014, they sold it just prior to xmas 2015 but I only found out because I happened to pop in unannounced today. I certainly could have used the money during the holidays. I was then led to believe that I was getting my money much earlier than normal, despite the fact that they sold my property a month ago. I wonder how much longer it would have taken to be notified?? When I asked what date they actually sold it, I was given a vague general time frame. It was obvious they didnt want me to know the exact date. To their credit, they worked with me even though I didnt give them 24hrs notice that I was coming in. But overall, as a customer my experience was one of feeling like an inconvenience to them from the minute I walked in to second I walked.
