I am a runner, who is hoping to get into cycling soon. I go to Liberty Bicycles because they have the largest selection of Hammer Gels of any of the specialty shops in the area. Recently, I took the time to look at bicycles, and accessories. The staff was very knowledgeable and patient with me. I made it clear that I was not going to make a purchase that day but never felt pressured or like I was hassling them. I appreciated the knowledge that the staff members shared with me. I learned the difference between the different bicycle materials and components. I was also thrilled to find out that they had shoes to fit my feet (wearing a 4e in running shoes, I was leery that I would find cleats at all). I also had a great conversation about cross training while I was there. I enjoyed my interactions with the staff members and appreciated that I was acknowledged by all of the workers at different times through out my visit because I felt welcomed and that I was truly getting good customer service. Thank you!

It was my third bike shop visit in the Asheville area. I wasn’t too impressed with the staff while I was looking at their fleet of demo bikes. In fact it was chaotic, I was close to leaving the store; the demo bike list was missing and the whole operation was grinding to a halt. I eventually test rode and purchased a road bike. The good news is, when I picked up the bike I was lucky enough to meet Sam. Sam is focused on customer service and developing a relationship with the rider. While fitting me with my new bike Sam talked about riding in the Asheville area and provided insight into places he’d recommend. His knowledge, passion and sincerity was genuinely felt. At the same time, my wife dropped her bike off for some service work, the mechanic could not have been more responsive and attentive. Sam asked me if I was a peddle pounder or a spinner and at my age all I can do is spin. But because of Sam this spinner will be back to Liberty.

I was recently in Asheville for a cycling vacation and stopped into the Liberty Bicycles store (unannounced) w/ a wobbly 2007 Ksyrium SL wheel. The fine folks at Liberty handled the issue immediately, perfectly, and for a very fair price. This was my 2nd experience with Liberty, and, even while my experiences are few, I feel I can recommend them w/out reservation...

I bought two bike here. A mountain and a road bike and my experience was first-rate. The staff here is knowledgeable and friendly and can talk you through any purchase or repair. Great clothes, accessories and bikes to choose from. Get fitted for the right size bikes and cleats and even take the bike for a spin to see if the bike choose you. Highly recommend Liberty!

Consistently drop the ball on every last thing they can. They screw up the details 100% of the time. They also have a pretty impressive lack of understanding of Pisgah Forest and the ways people ride it. If you need a roadie or xc geek shop they can handle that. If youre deep in the forest beating yourself senseless on a daily basis then look elsewhere.

They used to have some of the best mechanics in the area. They gave me flawless service for almost 4 years. Now, theyve got a bad apple or two spoiling the bunch. It got to the point to where my bike would come back in a worse condition than I left it in, repeatedly. I dont have the time or money to waste. Im done.

I brought my bike in for inspection of noise after hitting a pothole and perform a major service. The service staff listened to me and documented my concerns, they gave me great service with a reasonable price (I had expected to pay more). The bike rides like it was new. Great job!

Great folks at Liberty Bicycles. The service department helped fix my wheelchair tire that fell off and helped me load and unload the chair from my car. Very nice store, clean, and a huge selection of bikes, equipment, accessories, etc. Thank you Liberty!

I have dealt with a lot of the shops in the greater Asheville area, and Liberty is the best of the lot. I have vintage bikes and a lot of shops look at them with distain. Not Liberty, They are more than happy to help me find old parts or whatever I need.

Just bought a high end mountain bike. Extremely happy with overall service, expertise and quality of customer care i received. Advantage here over smaller shops is a bunch of quality mechanics who can turn your bike around quickly.

These people are the best in bikes. Id give them an "excellent", but they are a little high. In any event, if you have a bike issue, this is the place to go. They can tell you the best trails, too.
