1. About a year ago, when I was in the market to buy a bike I visited this store on a Sat, a Sun and a Weekday. The shortest time I waited for a sales associatehad been 30 minutes. And then when I wanted to do a test ride, I had been told I had to wait another 15 minutes or so. After 30 minutes I walked out of the store. Is this acceptable? 2. I bought DiamondBack via other means. After about 6 months, the peddle crank failed. I decided to give this store another opportunity. I dropped it off. The peddle crank had been repaired. The service tech or your spin doctor told me it appeared that it was submerged in water. I inquired about warranty service since the bike had only been about 6 months old. Of course, it had been declined since I purchased elsewhere. My inquiries with Diamondback fell on deaf ears. I learned my lesson. 3. Back in Feb2016, Performance had 1/2 price tune up sepcial. My bike desparately needed one. So for about $40 I thought lets do it. I arrived and a sales person of about 60 years of age talked me into 4 tune ups by purchasing the Performance Service Plan for $171.19 - basically the same price as the special. But to my surprise, the clerk punched 2 holes of the 4. I just noticed it today. So, the sales person mislead me about the 4 tune ups just to get a sale? The tune and the cleaning are 2 hole punches? 4. Today, I went to my bike to ride and found a flat. Hmm, The service plan included 4 flat repairs. I took it to be repaired. Again, another lie or deception?. The repair only covered labor leaving me to pay for the tube. I had tubes; I am capable of repairing a flat. And the tube that Performance replaced I bought at Performance. It had scratches and multiple holes on an area of the tube; from where did these holes come, if the Spin Doctor said the Tire was fine? I surmised it most likely would be a defective tube. When I went to pay, the Manager waived the tube fee only after I complained. Enjoy the feedback. I hope the store can improve. There are other bike shops I can visit and get better service. I just have to go a little further distance. But it might be worth it? March 19, 16 Update!!! Avoid Performance Bike in South Tampa at all cost. Go to South Tampa Bike on Gandy. See my review on their page......

Please dont service your bike here. Lance, one of the two mechanics, was actually very nice and knowledgeable and quoted my service the day I dropped the bike off. The problem is...the other mechanic, Jan, will try to rip you off! Lance recommended the upgraded service of $119 which would include the clean and tune-up combo...I agreed to this. I received a call a week later anticipating that it was ready for pick up...but no...it was the other mechanic named Jan. Jan left a voicemail on my phone stating that the updated estimate was now $650!!! I called back immediately and the original mechanic, Lance answered. Lance was shocked that Jan re-quoted my bike and expressed great frustration that Jan did that. Lance once again said he would honor the original estimate and proceed with the service. Three more weeks go by...I decided to call...and they never even touched it. I went to store and picked it up...no apology!!! If Lance was there Im sure he wouldve at least said sorry about that or acknowledged that they had the bike for almost two months and never touched it! Very disappointed!

My husband is an experienced cyclist and has been going to this store for about 2 years since he moved here from GA. He decided to surprise me with a nice bike that he purchased from here. It had flat bars. After a few days of riding with him, I fell in love with cycling and he thought it may be best to get me a road bike with drop bars so that if I ever decided to pursue it further, Id have a road bike. We found a road bike for 200$ more than his original purchase and we went in with the bike and explained that we would like to exchange the flat bar for the road bike. The owner asked no question and made the process so easy that it took about 20 minutes to swap the bikes and head home. I also bought my son a bike from here lasy year and the process was so easy and the store was very accommodating in that instance as well. This is a great store and the manager is absolutely wonderful and knows what she is talking about. I recommend going here for the service and product knowledge--their prices arent bad either.

I called the store and they said that they could have my bikes done the same day. I showed up and it ended up that it was going to be over a week before they could have it back to me, for a simple tune up. Went elsewhere and had my bikes done and ready to go the next day. Called on Wednesday May 3rd to see if the stroller I purchased online was in the store, they lied and said that they hadnt received it. I called corporate customer service and they told me it had been signed for on Tuesday. Literally a bunch of unprofessional POTHEADS who cant run an efficient business. Which is why their customer service and professionalism SUCKS!!! I will definitely be reporting this store to corporate and telling them they should drug test not only the owner but everyone working in the store!

I went to multiple bike stores in tampa and out of all of them, this one had good pricing, was military friendly and the staff was very knowledgeable. If you buy one or more bikes take advantage of the buyers program, it costs 30 bucks and you get 10 percent in-store credit on all purchases. I bought two and a kid trailer and now im going back to get all my accessories which are pretty much going to be paid for with the credit I got back. Highly recommended. If you go the the dale mabry one in tampa, matthew helped me and my wife and answered all our questions and made some good recommendations. I still recommend you do your shopping around. I bought a mountain bike and my wife got a hybride mountain bike. Both were GT. I would give them five stars but im a tough grader lol

25 years cycling and this could be my worse experience its service. This $79.00 tune ended costing me $200.00. Made an appointment, arrived on time, picked up my bike 4 hours later and left the following morning for a North Carolina trip. Huge mistake! Huge!! Fist ride out, few hundred yards from the trailhead, shifting is erratic and rolling off the big chainring. So I concede and ride in the smaller ring. Boom-chain breaks. When they installed the new chain, they didnt size it properly among other issues. Brand new chain. The shop in NC got it right, $130.00 later.

On May 7 2015 I stopped by Performance Bicycle, as soon as I walked in I was greet by Mario, he took his time to show me around, I just started riding again after 3 years of not riding. He showed the different product they sell. Make a long story short I end up buying riding short (gel), 2 shirts and a hitch rack. He assemble the rack for me, he went beyond his duties to make I feel comfortable. I highly recommend this bike shop, and if you have the chance to meet Mario shake his hand for job well done.
