One morning my car wouldnt start so I thought the battery might be dead. I called my mechanic and he suggested Advance since they install for free. So, I went to Advance in Apex.I stopped by and told the clerk that I thought my battery was dying and needed a new one. An elderly man sold me a battery for $96 and then I followed him outside and watched him install it. I was concerned due to his age but kept my mouth shut. How hard can it be right? I almost suggested that he test my old battery first but didnt want to offend him. Surely he knows what he is doing. He took my battery out and connected the new one. He said to try it out. I turned the key and got nothing. He suggested that maybe it wasnt the battery and that he probably should have tested it but since I told him I wanted a battery, he was trying to satisfy the customer and give me what I asked for??? Sounded like he was blaming me for this. He suggested it might be the starter and offered to get me a tow truck. I asked him to put my old battery back in and I would call my mechanic. He did this and refunded my money, still without checking either battery. When he put my old battery back in, I decided to give it a try and it cranked immediately. Now he thinks it is not the starter! I just told him I would let my mechanic figure it out. Took it to my mechanic and he tested the battery. Yes, it was almost dead. Now I had to pay for a new battery AND for labor. It cost me $174 and most of my morning!

Was not sure if my battery needs to be replaced. So Will from the store was very helpful in checking if the battery was still ok. When it tested fine, suggested to diagnose the starter and charging system. Best of all is that its free!

I needed two things. One they didnt have, even though the web site said it was in stock. The other item was in stock. But the site said 8.99. When I get there. It was 11.99.
