As a long time resident of Hyde Park, I am very glad we have this store in town. Hyde Park is not a large community, and for a small town grocery store, this place has pretty much everything you will need. A grocery store is an essential part of any community, and weve got a good one. It is well run, very clean, and the staff is generally helpful and friendly. Many small towns the size of Hyde Park are not so fortunate as to have a full service grocery store. They have a full array of services including a bakery on site, a decent deli counter (if a bit slow, sometimes with a long line), a handful of fresh fish choices (too limited in variety, but what they have is consistently good), and even a small fresh flowers booth. The store carries fresh fruits and vegetables at higher prices than competitors down in Poughkeepsie, but in my opinion at higher quality as well. And it is kept much cleaner than the South Rd. chains. It lacks a pharmacy, (I still miss the original Malloys) but you cant have everything. (It does, however, have a Peoples United Bank branch, which is open weekends, in the store.) The store is well maintained, and even has a competitively priced gas station for good measure. Its not Whole Foods (which is over-rated), or even Adams (which is very good but very over-priced), but it is reliable and well stocked. What more could you want?

My name is Peter J. Jappen. I have lived in Hyde Park and shopped at the local Stop&Shop for all of the last 14 yrs. although their prices most times are higher than other grocery stores around the Hudson Valley I continued to patronize this store because it is my "Local" grocery store and I believe in supporting my local community businesses. However I will no longer Shop there because the new store is being built entirely with out of state contractors while in this time of high unemployment in New York, I and many other Hudson Valley familys are searching for work when this would have been a great opportunity for Stop&Shop to help ease the unemployment in this area they instead invite out of state workers in and give them the jobs in our area. Shame on YOU Stop&Shop!

Store was nice and welcoming, items were laid out nicely, but employees looked like they didnt wanna be there, making me feel unwelcome. I was gonna have this thing called "Peapod" where they deliver your groceries to your house. But they told me it Doesnt deliver to my town. A couple days later, I look out my window, and guess what I see? A Peapod truck. At my neighbors house. I go to Shop Rite now. Much better service there. The reason I left for good? I got into a heated argument with a clerk. I forgot the topic, but it wasnt something pretty.

Hey, the Super Stop&Shop in Hyde Pk has the best bakery in the area! They always have decorated our cakes with amazing flair, but they now have these AMAZING muffins! One is a pumpkin spice with I believe cream cheese frosting, and the other is a red velvet,also with frosting,,,these put the local bakeries and the other super markets in the area to shame...definitely check this place out, its like having a magnolia cupcake in dutchess county, and at a bargain price!!! a definite for the holiday, amaze your guests,lol,im not joking

Well the deli person wasnt erythromycin efficient. I gave my order and although I found it odd that she didnt show me the slices as to the thickness, I guess I figured she knew what she was doing. ....boy was I wrong! The meat was too thick and the cheese was awful, it was all broken to pieces and had other stuff all over it as though the slicer hadnt been clraned. I call regarding the issue and the deli manager assured me that this is not common practice and would be rectified. Otherwise, I love Stop & Shop!

Their selection is usually great, but the layout of the store drives me to madness every time. The management has made a game of putting as many displays in your way as they can, and it seems like the stockers are only on shift when everyone else gets off work and goes to the store. Ive started going elsewhere.

Convenient, clean, specific sales items pretty good. Regularly priced items could be less. Sales people are usually friendly. Organic items other than their own are high in price. I go to Aldis for my organics. And lots of other things.
