I just want to preface this review that this was for the tux rentals at Helens Bridal in Commack and I cannot speak to their dresses or anyone that works in that area. I cannot say how TERRIBLE of a decision it was to have all of the men in our bridal party rent tuxes at Helens. We had 7 groomsmen, the groom, and the father of the groom rent their tuxes here (thankfully my father went elsewhere) and out of those 9 men, there was only 2 guys that walked away without problems. And Im not talking minor problems- but like major problems. For example, sizing was completely off on almost all of the guys, which is funny, because the staff at Helens did the initial measurements for all the men. Also, they said they could not alter anything, bow ties came shredded, and to top it all off, there was a male staff member named Anthony that was extremely rude to a number of the men in the bridal party when faced with issues. The lack of professionalism was appalling, nevermind the fact that we had to fight just to get basic black tie tuxes that looked acceptable for a wedding. Im not one to write bad reviews of vendors, but this was so far above and beyond horrendous that I felt others should be warned! Please avoid this vendor for tuxes (again, I cannot speak for the bridal department)- it was an absolute nightmare just days before my wedding!!

Purchased my wifes wedding dress at this location. Prices were high but the dress that she loved was there and no where else on the island in her size, so after some arm twisting they matched an online price. When she went in for her first fitting and alterations we unfortunately found out that all the signs in the store saying alterations are capped at $295 are false. All together for her alterations the bill totaled $500... one quater of the price of the dress. The manager David explain that not all alterations are included in that capped price and it is explained in the small print of the receipt. However no body was willing to share this info with us during our purchase. So we left the store after 3 hours of being bullied around and told the price was non-negotiable. Do yourself a favor and do not buy from this store.. there are many better options out there that are not going to lie to you or nickle and dime you.

They are awful. The only reason it gets one star is because there is one woman there who is nice. The man that works there is greedy and nasty. He lied to us about the cost of alterations for my wedding dress and when I brought it in he tried to charge me a 1k to alter a simple dress. He had a friggen sign on the wall that capped the price and his answer was that he didnt want my dress anyway so he doesnt care. I went all the way into the city to get the dress. Meanwhile, my fiance had cancer and he knew that and he knew I was bringing it to the island to make my life easier. I spent an entire day in the city for no reason. Then he overcharged my bridesmaids for their alterations. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES ARE AWFUL!

I had a great experience at Helens last year. They were not pushy, they let me choose what I wanted and let me steer the ship in shopping for a gown. Now you would think that the Bride should and would always be in charge at the bridal salon but this is not always the case, I shopped at some other salons before finding this gem. Some salons try to change your vision and push you into something you are not completely comfortable with. Not at Helens. They are a dream to work with and the entire experience was very positive for me. The prices are very reasonable for dresses and alterations. I send every bride I know there!

What a lovely experience! We stumbled on this place after a horrible experience at the Wedding Center and walked in without an appointment. Our consultant was Ashley and she is amazing! At the end of about 3 hours we said YES TO THE DRESS to a Maggie Sotero! There is a great selection of dresses and pricing was very good. We even found the bridesmaids dresses. This was a pain free experience! As a wedding planner I will be sending all my brides there from now on.

By far, I had one of the best experiences here throughout all of the wedding planning. Not only did I get my dress, but my Mom did as well. Ashley is incredible. I made an appointment, and not once did I feel rushed to finish up or pushed to buy the dress. She is beyond knowledgeable, and has quite an eye for style. Both my Moms and my dress came out amazing! I cant wait to send them pictures when they come in. Dont shop anywhere else!!!

I have never in my life experienced such amazing customer service as I have at Helens in commack! All of the team members I have worked with have been completely committed to making me feel beautiful (and comfortable!!) in my wedding dress. They have been outrageously patient with me and I can not thank them enough for making me feel amazing in my dress! Highly recommend them!

Toola was so amazingly helpful and wonderful. We visited 5+ bridal stores and had such bad service and Toola from Helens Bridal was by far the best! My Sister is going to be a bride in November of 2011 and there is no other place that will ever get our bussiness for a bridal gown. Thank you Toola and Helens Bridal!!!

I bought my wedding gown and my moms dress for my wedding at Helens. The staff were always so sweet and accommodating. Ashley went above and beyond to make sure I was wearing the perfect dress for my wedding. The alterations were done flawlessly for both dresses. I could not have been happier.

Nasty, Nasty, Nasty!!! The person I had assisting me was snotty and did not care at all what I was looking for. The gowns were all OVER PRICED!!! Check out Princess Bridals in Farmingdale on route 109. Thats were I found my gown and they were absolute wonderful to work with!!!
