Croft Wedding

For my wedding, I got both my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses from Bridal Elegance in Elwood and to be honest, they were two completely different experiences. Any time I went in regarding my wedding dress, I had a wonderful experience and all due credit goes to Linda. She was so sweet and it was an absolute pleasure working with her. When I went in, I had a vague idea of what I wanted and based on the few details I gave her, she helped me find the perfect dress for my body. When I first saw the dress, it was not something I would have typically gone for, but I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on. It was only the second one I tried and I just kept coming back to it no matter how much more I looked. That speaks to Lindas professionalism and how great she is at what she does. Working with her was my favorite part of dress shopping. Any time it concerned my bridesmaids dresses however, there was usually a lot of confusion because one staff member would tell us one thing and another would tell us something different. For example, the day we went to pick out the dresses, one of the staff members started taking measurements and about halfway through, someone else came out and said they dont do that until there is a deposit left. (This is an understandable company policy, but it wasnt fair that we were misinformed and they didnt finish what they started). When the dresses came in, I was told the bridesmaids could pick up any time, unless they needed alterations, which are by appointment only except for Sundays (again, understandable) and one of the girls was refused a pick up on a Sunday because she had no appointment, but she wasnt getting alterations. The staff also didnt seem to be as friendly towards any of the bridesmaids as they were to the bride. I would definitely recommend them still because for the most part everything was great, but it was far from an overall perfect experience.

Reply to DONt SHOP HERE. Customers Mom bought a sample dress, which is sold as is. Both Mother & Daughter wanted the dress to be restored to perfection free of charge. They also did not want to pay for alterations, but after the mother tired on the dress for the 3rd time, each time asking for further price reductions for imagined imperfections. They finally decided the dress had to be altered & they also ordered shoes. We altered the dress and dyed the shoes to perfection. The mother skipped the final fitting & sent the daughter to pick up both dress & shoes. When the shoes were dyed, we unbuckled the strap to dye it and of course the strap was bent from having been buckled. The daughter again wanted another price reduction saying the shoes were not new. I proved to her that the shoes were indeed brand new and my sample was still on the shelf. The daughter continued to make accusations, disrupting the whole shop in her effort to get a few dollars off. At this point I gave her a full refund for the shoes & asked her to leave. She then offered to take them for 50% off. We refused, since she had no basis for her unreasonable demands and accusations. We never saw the altered dress on the mother, but the dress was pressed & on a bust form when it left our shop. We give our alteration price prior to the customer committing, if she didnt like our price she was free to go elsewhere. To make a long story, this customer came into our shop and wanted to haggle over everything like she was at a garage sale & we simply cannot give things away & work for free.

I wouldnt give them a star but i have no choice. I would NEVER return here again. I have had a bridesmaid dressed bought and altered here as well as a regular party dress in the past thinking that it was my go to place for alterations even though they are very pushy there i still liked that the store was close to home.... So forward it to years later i bought my wedding gown somewhere else but i called them to see if they can make alterations to my dress. They said no problem and to call back when i wanted to make an appt. Two months later i call make an appt thinking i was all set. an hour later they call me asking "where i got my dress" i told them davids bridal and they turned me down saying that they WILL NOT alter anything from "that place" that dresses from davids are cheaply made and she doesnt have the time for that. who says that? as a bride i DO NOT want to hear that my dress is CHEAP. its so beautiful and shame on the OWNER for saying that to me. People like that shouldnt work in the bridal industry. Save yourself time and your money and go somewhere else.

So I went in not really knowing what dresses they offered. Its small, but intimate. Surprisingly a good selection and the lady I worked with on Sunday was incredible. She was so supportive and asked me questions to get to know me so she could really help find the right dress. I found this one particular dress I just feel in love with. She worked within my budget and helped me sort through the masses of dresses. It can be overwhelming at times. Ive already been to a few stores and she was always there, no over crowding or in another room, but just enough space that if I needed anything. I recommend you make an appointment for the weekend, maybe in general to ensure you get the attention you want. Someone had walked in and she tried her best to give me attention and the group that walked in. Even though the walk-in lady got upset about it, the store was very professional about catering to the scheduled appointment. No one was pushy, they really CARED about me and my needs for a dress.

What a nightmare! The owner, Phyllis, is not only the worst seamstress Ive ever met, but she is absolutely unprofessional. Her alterations are over-priced, not to mention, she does shoddy work (Hem-line very messy, lining too long, gown not pressed or steamed, applique not completely attached). Dont buy her shoes either! She tried to pull a switch-a-roo on me by dying a sample shoe and telling me it was the brand new shoe which I paid full price for. She doesnt care about making the customer happy; all she cares about is you paying by cash and her bottom line... but the bottom line is: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Your special occassion deserves customer service with a smile, not with an attitude. She makes you pick up the dress a few days before the event, so that when she provides you with less than adequate service, its too late for you to do anything about it. So dont be fooled!!!

Best shop on Long Island! Kathy and Donna and all the staff were very helpful ! When my daughter suddenly moved to Florida they were gracious enough to ship the dress for only $20 which Im forever grateful for. Dress was ordered 6 months ago and arrived with over 2 months to spare for alterations had we used them. Highly recommend using this store . I read so many reviews before choosing a wedding dress shop and Im glad I read them. My daughter received her dress today which was the exact day they said. Beautiful and in perfect condition. She tried it on and couldnt be happier . They measured her and got it right. !!!
