Had an average shopping experience at this Met Market (Formerly Food Basics) until recently. I had purchased a package of frozen Gortons frozen shrimp. When I cooked it 2 days later for a meal, it tasted like it went bad. I checked the packaging & noticed it was past its best if used by date by 6 weeks. When I went back to get a refund or exchange, the manager at this store proceeded to accuse me of purchasing the expired shrimp from another store then attempting to return it at Met despite showing my receipt. Very disappointing. Rather than doing the right thing & winning a loyal customer, this manager chose to turn his back on customer service. Shame on you. Anyone else still shopping here, Double check expiration dates on all products prior to purchasing.

We go there for fruits and vegetables that are well priced and for items not carried by Stop & Shop. The store has been redone since it was bought by Met Foods and the Produce department is now carrying quality products. Their mini blueberry and lemon poppy seed muffins are delicious. As of the other day we noticed new refrigerator and freezer cases waiting to be installed so it looks like additional changes are under way. We hope so since it is closer to home. It is never as busy as it was when it was Basics but the quality and cleanliness has improved 100 fold.

Place is awesome I get to get all my sugar free grocers and non name brands because Im anti establishment there is always a long line but in this store its ok because I get catch up with all my friends from the projects that I went to school with back in 88 . What a year .. Lets not get in to that lets just get back to food basics . Before I have a relapse then no more groceries

Been shopping here for over 4 years+ With friends and family, but I noticed that things were leaving and things were gone and half the stock is gone and I heard that they are closing soon. I loved shopping here but I guess my love for this place is over :( decor is nice andstaff are super helpful and kind

The do not charge you the sale price a lot. When you get home you realize they charged you ful price. Then you must go fight to get the difference back. This is an illegal process of overcharging. That is stealing from customers by not updating their computer prices. Reported to NYC Consumer fraud agency

Dirty, understaffed, unorganized! Dont trust quality, nor freshness of the food sold here. When first time shopping at this place purchased 2 boxes of different kids cereals, when opened both had bugs in it. Do not recommend!!!

Its got lots of WalMarts Americas Value brand items & other somewhat lower quality items, but it does have it all at a very good low price. Generous parking afront, easy walk near multiple bus lines.

The shelves are always empty. The manager is an arrogant man who doesnt know how to talk to woman. Sale items are usually gone by the second day and not replaced. This store is terrible
