I got married august 25th 2012 but started looking for dresses 2010 into 2011. I very HIGHLY recommend Lotus for the reasons below. I looked and low. I have always been crazy about fashion and studied at Parsons and am in the design world so the dress was important. I looked at dresses that were as high as 10 grand in stores like sax fifth ave (The only dress that was almost worth this much was an Oscar De La Renta wedding dress from spring 2012 in light pint horse hair...I had the pleasure of trying it on at Saxs. It was highly sculptural and like nothing I have ever seen before. Sax was okay because they let me try it on with out an appointment during a photoshoot for a bridal mag (knowing I probably wont be getting it).Besides from Sax Fifth I felt all the big dogs in manhattan were all fluff. Bergdorf goodman, and kliensfeld, ect... I knew if a dress was worth it as far as design and materials/productions go. Kliensfeld is a wedding factory. They give you 45 min and your out of there. I feel bad for people that fly in. They dont even have all the best designers you would think they would have. Most see Vera Wang and think they are the best place. I started looking into atelier aimee (impossible to get in touch with..., Rosa Clara (the dress i wanted was an editorial from spain and would have to have a seamstress copy it), Jenny packham-little cool things (sold at gabriellas but they were snotty and hard to make an appointment), and Pronovias (They had one dress I liked..made appointment to try it on ..and they sold sample right before we got there. Bridesmaid took off too. The funny part was the lady that told us they just sold it was the lady from Say yes to the dress at Kliensfelds haha. No wonder both have an "oh Well attitude". Pronvias, design or materials does not warrant the price. I noticed Pronovias dresses look like san patrick and sure enough they are connected .. just one is triple the price for the same thing. I came across Lotus because I saw they carried San Patricks which is basically the same thing as pronvias so I came to visit. They also had good ratings on the well magazine. The dress I purchased was actually Enzoani (never even heard of this designer before I saw the dress). I didnt expect to purchase dress type or designer but I could not have made a better choice for my curvy body type. We just got pictures back and am happy with results! Right after I purchased the dress.. I went home and started researching pictures of the "Gretchen" on blogs and saw it didnt look like the prototype sample I saw at Lotus. I called lotus in tears explaining what I saw and that I didnt want to wait 6 months and find out its made with cheaper beads or material then store sample. I have heard of this happening so I knew to look out for it. The dress I saw in the store had pure white beading and the one in the blog looked like it had a rainbow or pink hue making it look cheap. Katie and Wendy let me buy the sample (It was new and fit like a gloove). This was very nice because it was a new sample and they couldnt sell the dress without it. Also, they promised me they would order extra yardage of material from the factory to fix a snag and followed up! Lotus covered like $300.00 of yardage for me. I was very scared about the seamstress part being that it took so long to find the dress and if it came out wrong I would ave no time to order a new one... Anna did an AMAZING job! She fitted and steamed everything perfectly! She also used to work at kliensfeld as seamstress. Your are in good hands. I was the biggest pain but thanks to Lotus we got through it !

I purchased my wedding dress in October 2013 for my wedding in July. Lotus had a great selection of dresses and loved many them that I tried on. When I purchased the dress I learned that I would work with Maria, Lotus trusted seamstress that the store used for many years. In addition, Maria also did work for Kleinfelds and was extremely reputable. I was also told that I would receive 20% of any purchases or preferred vendors in the future if I bought from Lotus. All of these great perks and the promise of Maria made my decision very easy. Aside from purchasing my wedding gown, I also purchased 7 bridesmaids dresses as well. We were told that we could not receive the 20% off because I measured the girls myself and was able to get the cheapest price(RK Bridal). I was told that my gown and the girls dresses would be in April. I called numerous times and finally in the beginning of May they arrived. I did not receive one e-mail or phone call, the only way I found out about the arrival of the dresses was because I was persistent. After the dress came in I went to my first fitting in which I was provided with information for Maria the trusty seamstress. After I left the fitting, I called Maria to schedule my first appointment. To my shock, Maria told me that she would not be available the entire month of July and my final fitting would have to be the end of June, a month before my wedding. I called up Lotus to let them know what was going on and they were aware but the girl just forgot to mention it to me. Lotus has no reputable back-up seamstress with Kleinfeld experience. In fact, they could not even tell me a name of a possible seamstress. I took my dress out of Lotus and will not give them business again. They did not try to rectify the situation whatsoever. On a side note: Previous to this situation I asked the name of the tuxedo store that they were affiliated with to get the 20 percent off and they do not have that connection any more --useless.

My experience with Lotus Bridal was absolutely fantastic. I am located in the sunny island of Barbados and did not have the luxury that other brides had in which they could try on hundreds of dresses. I saw a beautiful Maggie Sottero dress online and searched for a bridal shop that would be in close proximity to my relatives in New York. I found two bridal shops of which Lotus was one. I then chose Lotus because it had loads of positive reviews and i was not disappointed. I ordered my dress in October 2012 and was told to expect my dress in March. The order was made by telephone and the assistant was extremely helpful and mannerly. Somehow I had all confidence that all would go well. All the relevant information was emailed to me and i felt as though i had done what normal brides had done but hey no hassle of trying and trying. My Dress arrived on time and I came to New York in April to try my dress. I had an early appointment and the attendant there was nice once again. There were no problems and the dress was beautiful. The shop is cosy, it isnt crowded and you are not overwhelmed with seeing loads of dresses not that it mattered to me because mine was already bought. The attendant even ordered a cab so that we could make our appointment to Anna the lovely lady that does the alterations. You have to love Anna and she is excellent. Very professional and knows what she is doing. by the time she was finished with my dress you could not tell it was altered at all. She also made a bustle on my dress so that the train can be picked up after the ceremony and It wont be in the way. I would recommend this shop to anyone.
