I was recently a bridesmaid in a wedding and we got our beautiful Amsale dresses from Jaehee. They ordered an 8 which was a little large on me but the seamstress started pinning and tucking and by the end of the first fitting is was looking wonderful. At this point the seamstress was also very nice and professional. My second and last fitting was scheduled by Jaehee employees for 2 weeks before the wedding. When the seamstress tried to zip the dress up it was like something out of a cartoon - if she could have put her foot on my back to get more traction to get the zipper up I believe she would have. After a lot of sucking in, pulling and pinching, it finally went up. Only problem was I couldnt breathe. When I did breathe the eye hook snapped. I expressed my concern then but she assured me (and why shouldnt I believe her?) that it would be fine and that the dress would "stretch." Fast forward to the wedding day, 45 minutes before photos and no one could get the zipper up. The brides aunt who is a seamstress had to be called in to rip the side open and re-stitch the dress by hand. Even still, the bra inserts, which I paid extra for, had to be taken out in the end. Fast forward again to today when I went in to show them the dress. They had me put the dress on, the seamstress came in and immediately began pinning and detailing how she would fix it something I didnt ask for and didnt want (why would I want the same seamstress to "fix" it?) The first words out of her mouth were, "Were you ovulating?" which I found rude and crass. Yes, I understand why it was asked but really? Even if that had been the case it wouldnt have accounted for the insane, corset-like tightness of this dress. (Even after the brides aunt had let it out a bit and taken out the inserts I couldnt take a full breath the entire evening.) The seamstress then claimed that the zipper went "right up no problem" at the time of the 2nd fitting. When I disputed her she raised an eyebrow, squinted her eyes, and pursed her lips at me before walking out. She never even looked at the dress off of me. I was then asked why the alteration appointment was made two weeks before the wedding not sooner with the insinuation that it was my fault so much time had passed and that was why the alterations were off. End result was a rude seamstress who didnt even look at the dress thoroughly and left after I disagreed with her and a store that would rather their employees do more work for free than refund money already paid. I want to be very clear that Jessica (who mediated) was very nice throughout the process as were the rest of the staff pre-complaint (though I didnt have much interaction with them). That being said, with my wedding a year away I will not even consider Jaehee, nor will any of my friends who saw the entire debacle play out. (P.S. Each of the other bridesmaids who received alterations there (3) had similar issues - too tight, eye hooks busting on the day of the wedding, etc - albeit not to the same extent.

Why is there not an option for ZERO STARS? I literally just walked out of the store and was so disgusted by their service that I walked into a Starbucks down the road specifically to type this review. I am somewhat pleased to see that, within the past several months, I am not the only one giving this poor excuse for an "atelier" a review of "Hate it." I went there as the bridesmaid of my best friend who is getting married in June. As with most bridal shops, you have to make an appointment (so that you can be helped by the staff, have a room to yourself, the obvious when wedding dress shopping). Our appointment was scheduled for 2:30 THREE WEEKS in advance. We arrived at 2:15 to check in, and spoke to a saleswoman who said she would be right with us. We were not in the market for a wedding dress; however, we were there to buy bridesmaids dresses from a specific brand, and four dresses for the older women in the family (mother of the bride, mother-in-law, godmother, and grandmother). After walking around aimlessly and searching the MEAGER selection of bridesmaids dress samples, I decided to ask one of the sales girls for a room just to try on a dress. Mind you, no one was helping us despite there being FIVE saleswomen behind the counter doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and there being three rooms open. She did not offer to help me look for anything else, only directed me to the room and walked away. I tried on my dress with the help of the bride, and assisted the mothers with the dresses that they had chosen themselves- again, without the help of the staff. We were there FOR AN HOUR until someone decided to help us. She must have seen the looks of disgust and dissatisfaction on our faces. I understand that there are several bridezillas out there who are quite demanding, but there was ONE bride in the store with a dress on and several women milling about (and I believe Jaehee herself was there). I asked one of the sales girls to help me. She went somewhere, not sure where, and after waiting another 10 minutes, a woman whom I believe to be the manager looked ONLINE for the dress style we had in mind. They ended up not having the dress we were looking for, despite claiming to be one of the premiere providers of this specific brand (Lela Rose) in the area. The bridesmaids dress samples are strewn about the store, some are damaged, and they have maybe three or four samples from each brand. Ladies, save your time and stay away. Why make an appointment if youre going to treat me and my bride as if it we were an inconvenient walk in. I have received better service shopping for Halloween costumes at a Salvation Army. And to think we were going to spend close to $7,000 there. Women, spend your money at a smaller shop that actually cares about its customers who make appointments and go out of their way to make it to their stores. This place is one Jessica McClintock prom dress away from being a glorified Davids Bridal.

This bridal shop is absolutely amazing! I found Jaehee through The Knot because they were advertising a sample sale that I wanted to attend. I hadnt gone gown shopping previously, so I went in thinking it would be one of many bridal shop visits to come. I met with Stephanie, and she was AMAZING. She is the sweetest consultant, but she also gives great advice and honest opinions. If you want an opinion you can trust, Stephanie is the best. She knew just by looking at me what would look right on my body and keyed into my personality very quickly, so she pulled styles that reflected my personality that were also super flattering. Also, she is super classy and wont ask your budget in front of everyone you bring with you, and she wont even allow you to try on a gown that is a penny over budget. This was incredibly helpful, because Im sure my expensive taste could have gotten me into big trouble. After spending 2 hours trying on different gowns, I found three that I loved, but one that was a clear winner. However, that day I didnt have my sister with me, so I told Stephanie that I couldnt make a decision that day because I really wanted her approval. She totally understood and sent me on my way. The next day, Stephanie emailed me to follow up on our appointment and clued me into the upcoming Pronovias trunk show. Pronovias was the designer of my favorite gown, so I was absolutely thrilled that she told me about the trunk show so I could save even more money. The gown was already well under my budget! I went back two weeks later when my sister was available (Stephanie came in on her day off just to meet with me!), also taking my mom, future mother in law, and future sister in law with me. I tried on the three gowns for my sister, plus a few new ones that Stephanie pulled for me before I even got there. I fell in love with the Pronovias gown all over again. I was sold! Thrilled with Stephanies great advice and eye for style, I had her show us a few bridesmaid dresses while we were there. Not surprisingly, we found bridesmaid dresses in the same day! My bridesmaids are in love with their Amsale gowns and they complement my gown very nicely. Everyone looked stunning. It was perfect because I was able to see the bridesmaid dresses on my bridesmaids while I stood next to them in my gown. It painted a really perfect picture, and I was able to see just how it will look on my wedding day. To celebrate, Stephanie brought out a few bottles of wine, poured everyone a glass, and toasted to a successful shopping trip! Cheers, Stephanie! You are every bit of FABULOUS! I will recommend Jaehee Bridal Atelier to anyone as my experience could not have been better. I had absolutely no reason to shop elsewhere, and Im so glad I didnt! For me, gown shopping was never stressful, never frustrating, and only perfect.
