I have been shopping here for over 10 years. The prices are OK. I stopped going some years ago, when I saw a mouse in the aisle. The manager, Hector assured me that it would be taken care of. I believed him, when I returned he greeted me and he is always very helpful and polite. However, The manager by the name of Tony, needs extensive customer service training. His demeanor is always unprofessional and unapproachable. I have even asked several cashiers what are the thoughts of the management there, his name always comes up as someone they do not appreciate. I work in the customer service field, I strongly believe at all times a manager should be supportive of their staff even when they have to give stern instructions. Whenever he is in the store, I avoid him. I go look for any other manager who can respond to any questions I may have. In, addition this store is in serious need of a makeover. Especially since some new competition has moved into the neighborhood. It needs to be renovated and brought up to date with shoppers needs, such as new registers, self check out and an extended line of groceries (vegan, gluten free). I hope this has been helpful. Student Connect

This was our first time shopping at the Food Town in Canarsie. The stock guys are very helpful, and seem to have excellent customer service. The clerks will not win any awards for being too friendly. Delivery is an hour and a 1/2 delay, and we left rushing home for them to deliver, and called back within the hour inquiring about the delay, imagining the ice cream melt. Toni, the manager stated busy day and he apologized and stated it should arrive within an half and hour. I guess this is the type of store where the fruits are well polished appearance is everything and service only matters to the stock guys and the deli men. Customer Service is the corner stone to every business, this Food Town has to realize that without properly serving its community their long term success may not last. The reason that they are able to last this long is not based on their excellent award winning service, it may be close, and people need to eat in order to survive. I must say the men in the Deli department were excellent too. Basically the entire store need to get training from the Deli / Stock employees and sales are bound to increase. As a customer that has been shopping at food town for many years Im finding it hsrf to believe the lack of customer Service and I have seen some of the workers come and go and Im very familiar with the industry....most of the stock guys are very nice and pleasant but I must say the cashiers are horrible!!! Which is totally unacceptable I was very disappointed last night with cashier on register #6 and as the manager tried to remedy the situation as I was leaving the store with my daughter she was still looking at me laughing as if she was making a joke out of the situation this must stop train your workers as to how to deal with the public / people or get rid of them...As a consumer I will not accept or tolerate this type of behavior unfortunate I didnt get her name but the time was around 8:00pm and I did report her to the MOD and I wont stop their if I ever receive that type of treatment again.,

Terrible shopping experience ever, Very unprofessional , rude deli workers, and the Manager is useless , I went to the cold cut section of this so called supermarket and waited 5 minutes when someone finally showed up he said he was off work already and the person in charge of the cold cut section was in the bathroom. when i informed the manager he went to the deli and continued to page the worker who never showed up after waiting another 5 minutes. i left and did my shopping at Waldbaums a mile away at the mall on ralph avenue. i will never go back to food town from now on i will do my shopping at waldbaums.

My shopping experience was beyond horrible , cashier 104 Paula is very rude and unprofessional. How do you have an animal like that working with customers? She got very angry because i told her i wanted to redeemed my gift certificate instead of paying cash. She was screaming, using profanity and pointing her fingers toward my face. Of course the night manager was just standing watching the entire scene. I will definitely report this to the corporate office. 3/27/16 18:16:12.

Theyve got a huge selection of different food items at good prices. If you visit, try their red velvet cupcakes which are great. I could eat a whole container of them, honestly. The only minus is the long lines. I have yet to visit and be able to get one or two things and get out because the lines are sometimes frustratingly long.

Although its one of the few supermarkets left in this area as others have closed. I wouldnt shop here...I have in the past. over the last 10 years this place has gone to the dogs. if there was a way to use minus stars I would!!

Very pleasurable staff members. The managers are always present and go above and beyond. Awesome and fresh seafood, fresher than most seafood markets. Always stocked shelves, clean isles, and great selection of products.

Not a fancy place, but they carry stuff you might not find at other area supermarkets. Open late, so you can avoid the longer lines that are there earlier in the day. Competitive pricing.

Well its a good supermarket when some items are on sale with lots of parking and many items plus a meat/fish market in the back but you need a rewards cards which is free
