I went into this store knowing nothing, except wanting to just buy a bike. Linda was immediately friendly and knowledgeable. She took her time to show me the showroom and didnt attempt to sell me the most expensive bike - but, rather, the one that was appropriate for me and my intended usage. They fitted me for the bike making sure everything was perfect. They told me about some wonderful trails near home (which I had no clue were so close by). A few months later I got injured at home (completely unrelated to my bike) and was no longer able to ride more than 15 minutes at a time. So, I had to put my bike up for sale. I contacted Linda on how I should approach this and she suggested Craigslist and said I could use the shop as a meeting place (that way it wasnt at my own house). I met a perspective buyer at the shop and we brought the bike inside and Linda explained how the bike wasnt the appropriate size for the gentleman - and I respected that because to these wonderful people its not about making the sale, its about your enjoyment. I wasnt insulted that I didnt make the sale, just the opposite, I had tremendous respect for her. She even offered to house my bike at the shop in case someone walked in and noticed it and wanted to buy it. She didnt take any commission. She, and the rest of the team, just wanted to be helpful. My experience at Bike Junkie has been nothing short of stellar and if I could ride I would buy all my future bikes from here. Thank you so much Linda!!

O.K after my horrible a experience bringing my mountain bike in for a tune up at Brands bike store in Wantagh ( the man walking in behind me who is is either the owner or a main salesperson) commented "oh, that looks looks like a dept. store bike. We have more expensive shocks than what that bike would have cost you "hahaha" " and thats verbatim!!!! No joke. first time there and it seemed like he was trying to show off to the dude buying behind him. what a snob and who even asked his opinion. and by the way i was with my 17yr. daughter who caught his insult right away. And honestly, it was bought at a bike shop yrs. ago for 800.00. Obviously, he knew nothing. So, recently i discovered Bike Junkie. Let me say that again, BIKE JUNKIE IN OLD BETHPAGE NY. Holy cow!!. To find a mom and pop operation that actually care about and are respectful, will listen to you like a person is not easy to find. Ive been back nose several times for different scenarios and will always highly recommend them. Theyve done right by me in price quality and service. Leo

As youll read in most of the reviews on here, the staff at Bike Junkie truly are there for their customers. Ive never seen a shop that shows more attention and doesnt pressure you into buying a bunch of add-ons and accessories that you wont even need, except here at Bike Junkie. They will work with you and take their time in doing so. Before anyone ever buys from a brand store, they should stop by Bike Junkie and see what they can do for you. You wont regret it. I see customers come in there from all over the island because they know theyll be treated fairly and friendly there.

I have to say it is rare that you walk into a bike shop and the owners pay attention to your needs. They spent a great deal of time with me, advised me what would be best given where and how i wanted to ride. They are extremely knowledgeable about the bikes they sell and others. Although I live in Queens, I will travel to Bethpage to have my bike serviced and cared for. I know they will get it right. If you want to do business with people who are honest and have integrity, then go to the Bike Junkie!

Ive been going to see Linda and Doug for more than 15 years. Always friendly and very knowledgeable. They are the best bike store on Long Island. They carry the best and most current bikes and accessories for the avid riders. There are no big box, junk bikes here. I suggest that you have a little patience when you go there as they usually very busy. Support a local small independent business too!

Outstanding experience with this store. Staff was very helpful in deciding which bike was best for me with no sales pressure at all. Staff even looked-up brands the store didnt carry to see whats available on the market. Very professional and knowledgeable. Also good selection of bikes and gear. I will definitely go here in the future even though its far from my house.

I found out about this shop a few years ago while shopping for a new frame. I ended up buying a Lynskey and Doug put it together for me. If you dont see what you need Linda can order it for you and in most cases get it the next day. The prices are great and the owners truly enjoy what they do. I also think its great for them that they are closed on Sundays.

Best bike shop on LI. The attention they give you is tops. They always suggest the best bike/gear for the rider. Very honest people and knowledgeable. Bought two bikes from them a Cannondale CAAD8 and a Specialized Stumpjumper, custom wheels, bunch of accessories, etc. The quality of their workmanship is phenomenal.

Bought my Bianchi ViaNirone here many years ago and still go to Bike Junkie for service and supplies. Doug and Linda are first class and know their stuff. Extremely helpful if you are ready for that next level bike. My advise: only buy a bike from a cyclist!
