I dont have anything bad to say about the camera. However, I have nothing good to say about it either because I never received it. I bought it on November 30th, and it is now January 26th and I am still without a camera. All I gained from this experience is an enormous amount of stress and frustration. What happened was that I had ordered it for a final project (which also couldnt be done because it didnt arrive) and apparently it was left at my door saying DR FRONT DOOR. The package was nowhere to be found. I asked Cameta Camera what happened, and they insinuated it was my fault because I had allowed for other packages in the past to be delivered without signature. This was untrue and false. I took the matter up with UPS and they told me that it was most definitely their fault because a package cannot be dropped off at a door which is over a 1000 dollars price value. After almost 2 months of hassle and tracking the lost package, I was able to get an insurance claim out of UPS who would then send it over to Cameta Camera. I just called them a few minutes ago and as I thought the drama was finally over, they tell me that they do not reship orders and that I would have to wait i dont know how many weeks for them to approve the claim so they can issue a refund, not a reshipment. I am never buying anything from Cameta Camera again, and I will be telling all my photo and film peers to never buy anything from this company ever. They were terribly unhelpful and I am extremely dissapointed. Do NOT buy from them. When anything goes wrong they try to bully you in thinking it is your fault. The responsibility for delivery of the product lies with them, not the customer. I have spent hours of travelling and talking on the phone for the past two months. I have paid the price in full, I have no camera and this vendor is trying to squeeze out of it, with putting the blame on ups but no refund yet. Shame on Cameta Camera, on UPS and on Amazon for allowing them to deliver the poorest customer service I have ever seen.

Buy from a local store.... They were alright to deal with, but pressured me due to shipping and getting things out. I was heading out on my honeymoon the next week so they made me pay for shipping. I had asked the lady for some accessories that i have used before and was quite specific... One of the products was a wrist strap... very simple, I dont ever use any of my cameras without one! She said she had a great one that was so comfortable and perfect... so I said sure... The OP/Tech strap comes and my goodness it is BY FAR THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE THING EVER! Not only is it not what I asked for, but after calling the manufacturer it does not really work well on these cameras! It wraps around the whole hand and wrist, so it is not an easy on and off like I asked for... but it holds the hand so high that the shutter button is located in the palm of my hand so that my finger is reaching down to hit it! Talk about a strap that will cause carpel tunnel syndrome!!! Anyways, I contacted them and they said to ship it back to them... which is fine I guess... I was hoping for a little more since I already paid for the shipping one way and I really do see this as their fault! But, I found another strap that I dont mind however, I have found other places that were 25% cheaper then they are! I figured that they would do something for all the issues that i have had... I was VERYYYYYYY wrong! The guy I talked to was quite rude "what do you want me to do, that close to what we buy it for, how am i supposed to know where they get it from." It was a great conversation! In the end, it has soured the whole purchase for me and I will never buy from Cameta Camera again... I would suggest taking their prices to a local store and seeing if they will match them as the customer service from this store is BRUTAL! I really hope that I dont have an issue with the camera... as I think that will be an absolute ORDEAL!

Had a great experience buying from Cameta Camera. I am a bit of a gear head and tend to buy one too many cameras..more than I need. I live in NY and like to support local stores, but on the more expensive items 1, 2, 3 k etc...its difficult to resist buying on-line, out of State so you can save the sales tax, at least at this point in time. In any case I bought a VERY expensive camera from an on line store that starts with the name Crutch.. When I received my order and opened the box it was TOO obvious they tried to sell me a former customer return, I was angry. Same place plus a little known store that starts with Amaz...has also tried to sell me customer returns. Book short I had enough of this. I decided to buy my new camera from Cameta as I have dealt with them before and it was a very positive experience. This time it all started with an e-mail to a Cathy in the warehouse division at Cameta. She was super helpful and nice..and assured me Cameta does NOT sell used or refurbs as NEW, and even said I was welcome to open the box once there..inspect it so I know its new as in new. When I arrived at the store Cathy had already had my receipt all printed up, they also included a rather nice kit with a Sony bag, tripod, batteries, a charger, filters...some actual stuff worth a bit of money FREE. Well I had to pay sales tax but it was so nice dealing with real people again. Another nice guy I dealt with at the store is named Mike..super upbeat and knowledgeable sales guy..helped me tweak the extra fre kit more to my liking. In short as this is getting too long, buying at Cameta was a pleasure...and having the peace of mind my 3 k-ish camera was TRULY new was worth paying sales tax on. I highly recommend Cameta camera...nice honest people there, and a good selection of photography gear as well!

One little experience to share. Maybe against all the 5 stars. But this is TURE. I ordered 400$ kit of refurbished camera from cameta , which seems highly rated on the google. When I received it, its one day ahead of time. But the camera cant work, cant take any picture at all. So I got a little bit suspicious about refurbish and the cameta. I heard they test the camera before resell it, but I doubt how that helps the problem. Anyway, I have to call the company. Finally a tech support picked up and offered me an exchange without asking if I want to or not,or what I want to do. When I mention about the problem with the camera, he is kind of blabalbla:"you never bought a defect before?""you could buy a 40K car and it has defects" and no patience to listen to me. From this point, I decided not to do business with them. Customer service is about solving problems, if you are tired of this, take a break, dont make it hard for a customer that showed trust and payed you you first. The company said customer phone calls are monitored, but I did not see the point of that now. Maybe this man is the boss of the whole company and just slash his customer around~ Because he is the boss~ Lol. Anyway, he told me to pay shipment fee myself for refunding. I took it. It hurt both of us, but the service is not good and I cant trust them for my 400$. They might refund me as they said in the email that is full of wrong grammars, and ask me to change the rating to 5 stars later. But I might do that when they ask me to, not now. Very interestingly, I cane review on the Cameta website on the top of google. There are thousands of 5 stars in there. I cant even do a review even I spend 400 with them. Interesting. Google has failed me. Lol
