If you want outdoor clothing they have a decent selection if you weigh 90 pounds and can squeeze between the racks jammed in every square inch. I am not heavy by any means and its still a stretch to look around. The gun counter is an absolute joke, minimal ammo in any caliber, a bunch of guns you can feel free to look at if you have the patience to wait for the crotchity old guys behind the counter to stop b/s ing with their friends either on the phone or in person. Then if you put your 20 minutes in staring at the wall they might get around to acknowledging your existence. Never will i shop there just because of that department, the rest of the store is great and incredibly helpful staff.

The store is great unless your a women looking for serious outdoor sports gear. The womens clothing selection in either casual, technical or sport was lacking. Small area dedicated to womens clothes. The majority of womens clothing seemed to be on the sales racks of odd sizes and colors. I went specifically looking for a technical trail shoe/boot and their offering was about 7-10 total pieces of new footwear for women. 1 or 2 of which was either a trail shoe or boot. Not nearly the selection I would have expected from a "large" outdoor store. You can easily purchase anything online but it is nice to walk into a store and make a purchase.

I visited the Ramsey store in Roxbury today to buy my boyfriend a new fishing pole and reel. Matt in the fishing department helped me out today and I just want to say that he is the most helpful and awesome kid there. I flat out told him I wasnt quite sure exactly what I was looking for and he spent an hour with me picking out the perfect rod and reel without "breaking the bank" :) Brought it home and my boyfriend was completely blown away and beyond happy! Basically just trying to say thank you to Matt for making my boyfriends day !!

My wife went on to use a gift certificate for a $160 pair of boots. The sales associate was totally unmotivated to help. When they did not have the color/size she was looking for - she asked if it might be available at other stores. The associate told her "I know what all the other stores have and they dont have this" - without even checking anything. She had the feeling he was just trying to get rid of her. This place has all the outdoor and travel accessories you need and have fantastic end of the season and clearance deals. The staff there rocks!! I had searched everywhere for a specific backpack made big enough for a months worth of travel at a carry-on size, which was sold out everywhere online. I went to Ramsey Outdoor and was able to find one that same day! The guy who helped me even made a call to the distribution center just in case I wanted to purchase a different color.

Great staff! Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If they dont have it in their store they will check their other location and get it to you fast. I needed to do this for a ski jacket for my daughter and Scout shorts for my son. Both requests came quickly in time for ski club and summer Boy Scout camp! I agree with other post about finding great bargains too!

I have made several purchases here over the years here. The staff was knowledgeable courteous and attentive to my needs and offered their own honest opinion whenever I asked for it. Often you can find great deals on clearance items and end of season sales. I highly recommend them.

Nice store, fantastic customer service. Bought a THULE rack last year that I had never used and was updated by manufacturer. The manager exchanged for a different model and gave me the price difference in store credit since I had lost receipt.

Great that an outdoor specialty store exists here but they never have a decent stock of most products. Fishing is especially bare all year long. Inventory managememt should not be dictated by the CFO but by the customer (service).

I really like Ramsey outdoor. I purchase things here and there for camping there and they have a few gem deals here and there. I picked up a large hydro flask for a great price over the summer and a thermal liner too.
