If I could give the store zero stars i would. I never write reviews on companies/ individual store employees. The front end manager Christine was very rude during one of my purchases. It was caused by her not smoothly honoring a meat rain check. She and the Meat Department made me feel like I was a cheap customer when I tried to use my rain check at one of the registers. I also felt like my business was not important enough to her and that I was bothering her. At the end of the purchase I let her know how I felt about the transaction and that I was going to be writing a letter to corporate about how I felt I was treated. At that point she made a complete 180 and started treating me with respect. Sad that it had to go that far. Customer service is top priority in retail as any food store is a dime a dozen. Once I left the register I also realized that they charged me too much money for the weight of the meat and also that there was a $1 coupon for every three packages that you purchased. Total amount of the overcharge for weight and coupons was around $6-7. Not much money but I feel like I was cheated and mistreated. Ill be contracting corporate to discuss further.

Bad experience with Christine at customer service today. I returned an item that was supposed to but one get one free. Christine reluctantly credited me for the item that was supposed to have been free, which I returned. When I told her I wanted to change that item for a different one which should have been free, she left in the middle of the transaction. The person that stepped in for Christine argued with me and ended up charging me for the replacement. I paid because I felt embarrassed and treated like I was trying to pull something over on her. This is not the first time Christine has been rude. I will be returning that item and contacting corporate. I hate that store. Theres always something from sneaky sales to a Stinky smell. Employees seem unhappy. Cant wait until the new ShopRite is built in Sparta. Hopefully, it will put them out of business.

Cant give zero stars so it will get one. I have been hating this place for years. Every single time I go there, the produce section is overflowing with rotten food. I inspect my food carefully whenever Im in the unfortunate position of having to buy produce from there and I STILL end up having to go back to this stinking crap hole to return it because Ill open containers to start cooking and find the bottom of them covered with slimy rotting food. This wasnt a one-time thing. It happens EVERY time I go. I try to do most of my food shopping at other grocery stores, but because of its location, I end up going to Sparta Stop and Shop. To say its a huge disappointment would be a very large understatement. This place fills me with unbridled rage.

Avoid, either of the Shoprites or Weises in the same area are easily a lot better. The layout really is weird.. and quite cumbersome. Also and most importantly, the selection is severely limited in almost every area (tea brands, produce, seafood and meats, dairy selection) - they have things like a variety of organic juices, komuchas, and stuff like that thrown in around the store to make it look eccelectic. The fact however, is that you cant even find something as simple cilantro the often times. The customer service is just poor - on par with shopping in the ghetto, Ill just leave it at that. Gave this place a few chances, but I will honestly drive 35 mins to the nearest Whole Food any day to avoid this disappointment.

Worse produce section ever! Poorest selections! They dont stock the shelves often enough. The people working there are just miserable. Anytime u ask someone a ? They act like your bothering them. There are now 6 items that I used to buy there regularly that they no longer even carry. Its just a mess there. The Newton shop Rite on the other hand really has their act together. I know it may be out of ur way but if u live in the sparta area thats the store for you!!! Trust me. Unless u eat not thing but crappie processed and frozen foods.

I shop here frequently because I live here in town. The place is clean and organized. I never have any problems finding a cart or an associate to ask for help if I need it. The staff is always friendly the food is always fresh. The prices arent super cheap but they arent astronomical either. One of the things I noticed is that if you are looking for large items like large cuts of meat or large bags of sugar etc. , the variety is very limited.

Stop & Shop is not one of the best supermarket chains. Unfortunately, if you live in Sparta, NJ, you dont get a lot of choice locally. Produce here isnt in the best shape, especially, and prices run high. Youd think that the demographics of Sparta and the surrounding area would justify a Wegmans or Trader Joes, but Stop & Shop is the best you get here, and, frankly, youll wish for better.

I never had a problem with Stop & Shop. I Had a lot of dealing with them and have always been satisfied. The pharmacy has always gone above and beyond to ensure that I had the proper medications that I needed. Erica is the manager of the pharmacy and she always has a pleasant attitude, even though she is busy. I love shopping there. Thank you.

Were only going here because its the ONLY super market in town. CLEAN your seafood section. It smells like low tide in a hot dumpster every time we walk by , and everything is priced way higher than anyone else in the county. If there was competition , this place would get cleaned up quick. Oh and now they make sushi...trust it , totally.

I really like this store! They have a huge selection and are always stocked up. The meat and produce are always fresh. The prices may be a little high but they have excellent sales so if you plan ahead you can definitely save money. All in all, one of my favorite places to shop for groceries.

Never enough cashiers. Prices may be tagged on sale but come up at a higher price at register. They dont bag your groceries like Shop Rite does. Your better off driving an extra 10 minutes to Byram Shop Rite.

Tried to charge me $16 when there was a 4/$9 sale. They tried to "fix" it by taking off 99¢. After ten minutes of trying to get it resolved I just left without purchasing anything.

Stop and Shop is a little more expensive than their competitors, but the location is convenient and the store is clean. Slightly hard to navigate but I also dont go very often.

Pricey things arent usually on sale here. Not like shoprite. But I guess you pay for the appearance because this store is always clean I will give them that.

This is a nice clean fresh grocery store. Its never crowded but thats probably because its more expensive than ShopRite. It reminds me a little of Publics.

This is my favorite grocery store in the area. Not as busy as Shoprite always is and they Ive a good selection of fresh items. Nice deli and bakery section.
