Disappointing!! I went to this store to trade in my iphone 4 w/ 32GB. Before we bothered to go my son called this store to ask about the trade in program and he was told they no longer offered it. So I went online and saw the trade in program was still offered and I called customer service and was told I could go to the store and trade in my phone. My sons and I went to this store and the salesman who greeted us in the cell phone department told us when we asked about the trade in program that Best Buy no longer offered the program. When I challenged him he gave up and looked at my phone for a trade in. When he told me my phone had a poor rating I had to laugh. He told me my phone had scratches on the glass and on the back. I asked to see them and if you looked in just the right light and at the exact angle you could see the most minute scratches and only 3. I mean minute. Keep in mind my phone was only 3 months old because it was my second replacement for hardware issues and the phone had a glass and back cover on it since I got it in the mail from Verizon. I asked to speak to the manager and she confirmed that my phone was rated poor. It seemed she had better things to do than be either friendly or helpful. I refused to agree with their assessment so we left and drove to the Riverdale store where we were greeted by a much friendlier sales staff and my phone was rated good and I was promptly given a $110.00 credit that I used to purchase my new iphone 5 w/ 16GB. What the Best Buy in Rockaway failed to realize is that first, they have other stores with smarter and more customer oriented salespeople like in Riverdale, but there are also other major stores that sell iphones. We could have easily gone to Walmart which is selling the same iphone 5 w/ 16GB for only $129.99 meanwhile Best Buy is selling it for $199.99. So after my $10.00 rewards card and the $110.00 trade in I paid $93.00. If Best Buy offered a competitive price we would have also purchased my sons iphone 5 there but it was far cheaper just to go to the other side of the building and pay $129.99 at Walmart. It pays to shop around.

Best Buy has to be one of the most incompetent organizations in the world. I placed an order at online 7:45pm tonight 5/2/15 for pickup because we are setting up a new office and need to meet Comcast representative late tomorrow morning. Theres no warning telling people that it could take a very long time if you pre-order online and pick up at the store. All it states is it should take about 45 minutes. So I took my time and drove more than a half hour and arrived at the Rockaway, NJ store 45 minutes later. I approach the Pick Up desk, there are no customers around, two employees walk by and ignore me and finally a third approaches to help. The employee looks up the order and starts searching for the items (5 in total). He cant seem to find them. The employee goes to the computer and says - "Oh, the order isnt processed yet, it takes about 45 minutes". I said I understands that but it is past 45 minutes. "Whats the problem?" He says the order is big ($700+) so Best Buys system needs more time to make sure the order is not fraudulent. Where is their credit card processor? Vietnam? Indonesia? This is totally stupid. I offer to pay with my credit card (since this was my father-in-laws order and credit card) but the employee said - "No you cant cancel the order now", "Youre going to have to wait until you receive the email from Best Buy saying you can pick up the order". Did these morons ever think I could have walked in there and purchased everything without a hassle? But NO...thanks to a stupid online pre-order system at Best Buy, I not only wasted a half hour driving each way, I now have to go back there tomorrow and waste another hour because a simple order cannot be processed in a timely manner. Store was closing in minutes by this time. I asked to speak to the manager but the employee said that wont help because Chuck, the manager, cant override the Best Buy system. In the year 2015, can you imagine a company operating this way? Believe me, neither one of us would ever buy anything again from Best Buy. Their policies and systems are antiquated and their employees are totally incompetent.

Pros: Good selection of product, Clean Store, Friendly Floor Staff Cons: Poor Customer Service by a Manager (the worst I have ever experienced); Aggressive/Condescending Management Example: Bought a tv and made the decision to return it within 5 minutes because the Manager was unable to explain why I was charged the "new" tv price for an open box item (yes I admit I should have looked at the number closer while at the register). Jaz, the (Asst. Store Manager) response was that "you must just not understand what I am saying," when she tried to explain the receipt and was still making no sense, telling me that the tag on the tv was "old". All the while rolling her eyes, it was as if she was trying to bully me into accepting her story. She was very aggressive and demeaning towards me and my lack of understanding to whatever Best Buy Policy she was very poorly trying to reference. When asked why I was returning the TV, I told them that it was not the price I was expecting to pay (this happened within the first couple seconds). She then chased me to customer service and said "well then why would you buy a tv in the first place." Well Jaz,fully intend to buy a TV but never, ever from you, or Best Buy. As a (at this point) PAYING customer, I have never been treated so poorly.
