Im sure my experience was not atypical of most Staples stores on Labor Day, but I felt the need to write about the lack of staff in this location, leading to a ridiculously long line to get to checkout (as well as next to zero help looking for needed items in the store aisles). After finally finding most of what I needed for my cousins who are about to start school like most other kids, I got online for checkout. The problem was the line ended at the cash register and started at the rear of the store, next to the stock room! I couldnt even see the cashiers from my vantage point. I was flabbergasted and gave a sarcastic chuckle when the manager informed me that, yes, this was where the line starts. After a minute I got a little angry and realized that no one at Staples respected me or my time, or the time of the countless other people stuck on this line who had better things to do like take care of their crying children or go to a BBQ with family and friends, or whatever one does when theyre not forced to stand inline to pay for items to make the Staples corporation wealthier than they already are. When I finally reached the cashier, my experience was friendly and actually somewhat enjoyable as he sensed that I was not a happy camper standing on such a long line. I picked up a few new items and wanted to exchange one of them for something I mistakenly bought earlier that day (when it wasnt so crowded!) The item I wanted to get for the exchange was sold out. A manager standing nearby overheard me and said he might have extras in the back. I thanked him profusely and told him Ill take whichever erasable pens (the items I needed) he could give me. While he was in the back, I spoke with the cashier and told him I just got off work trying to earn a few extra bucks on the holiday, just like him. He told me he had to work UNTIL MIDNIGHT. ON LABOR DAY! All I could do was shake my head and offer my sincere regrets. Well, I did get the erasable pens and made a successful exchange, so my long wait was not totally in vain. I politely explained to the cashier that I was not upset with the store employees, but with the lack of staff available to help find what you needed and the clear lack of cashiers when Staples is busy creating back-to-school ads to lure people to their stores and offering Labor Day discounts as a further incentive. I get that it is a holiday; I also understand that it was the last minute to come and get needed school items. What I dont get is why Staples corporate doesnt allow their individual stores to be properly staffed to meet the needs of the customers it hopes will spend money in THEIR stores. This to me is the height of disrespect toward the customer. Staples value their customers money but not their valuable time. I would be remiss if I didnt admit that Staples isnt alone in this phenomenon; however, that does not make it right that they treat the public in this manner. The only reason this location received two stars from me was because of the polite customer service I received LEAVING THIS STORE!

I didnt think it was as bad as some of the other reviews describe it. I basically go there for pens, envelopes, copying paper , maybe a computer accesory on occasion....but I do think the telephone customer service could be more astute. One time I went to buy a computer, they didnt have it in stock but the sales girl told me to call back the next day to make sure its in stock. She gave me the store number and serial number of the computer. The next day i called and a customer service guy said it wasnt in stock. When I went to the store a short moment later it actually was in stock.....so as far as customer service quality goes it depends on who you run into in the store.

The copy and print center is unknowledgeable and inexperienced on making presentable enlarged copies. I created an online purchase with the copy center but the image that I uploaded, which was the image of a school girl for my sons project, was totally different when I picked it up from the store. The employee enlarged the image by stretching it across the paper. I was unable to waste any more of my time with this project to refuse it and have another one created, so I decided to just use it anyway, which cost me $14.99. This shouldve clearly looked unpresentable to the employee and it only tells me that they do not know what they are doing.

This Staples location in Bloomfield is the WORST. The copy center is always under staffed and most of the copy machines are always broken. There are never enough cashiers so the line backs up at the one cashier thats open. I live in Bloomfield but drive to the Staples in Verona. Its a bit farther but worth the extra distance. The Bloomfield store isnt worth the aggravation. Perhaps its poor store management.

It should not take twenty minutes to ring seven people with simple items up. The store is disorganized, and not his is priced correctly. Everything is out of place and that causes a lot of confusion. I brought this up to a guy who works there and he rolled his eyes at me. Today was the last time I ever go to that store. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra mile to a different staples.

All the times when i go to use the UPS service this lady she knows that Im there and she doesnt move from her chair.I have to wait like 10 min for some one to come and help me. What can of people are this, I realy dont know if any manager work there or is not managers at all in this store that can keep the eye on this people. For real you need to do a better JOB!

This store is one mile from my house but not worth the trip. I drive 5 miles to the store in Clifton Commons. Their staff is far more professional than the one in Bloomfield. The store manager of the Bloomfield store needs professional coaching him/herself if these are the types of reviews being posted on the website.

Dont waist your time going to this Copy/Printing Center. The staff is extremely rude and nothing ever works. Sometimes I have to come here since I live around the corner and 80% of the time they cant even work the simplest copy/printing orders. Do yourself a favor and find another Staples store.

They really dont know what theyre doing here. Its smacked in the middle of the shitty side of Bloomfield Ave, the place speaks for itself. The one manager with dirty dreads had a nasty attitude both times I asked him for something. Although the other guy who helped was nice, I wont be going back.

Not the best Staples Ive ever been in, nor the worst. Packing and Shipping and Copy Center was crowded and only one cashier but the quality of the products are as good as ever with a decent selection. Perfect for the general shopper but if you like the big selections, try the one in Totowa.

Service at Staples can be a gamble but Bloomfield store does it with cool efficiency and manners. They are courteous and attentive and held an Apple power cord for me. Pickup wa easy and I was met with smiles and friendliness. Am changing our corporate buying to this store.
