I was recently let go from this company after only a few days. I signed on as full time, and due to my own inexperience soon found that to be too taxing. I was also misinformed by several people how often a truck came in, and when I expressed frustration at this and other examples of disorganization and incompetence was let go; also a factor in my termination was the fact that, recognizing my own limitations, I asked to be put on part time. Rather than being flexible, as these narcissists (especially the manager of the Bozeman store) claim to be, I was told there was only one part time shift available for the stockroom, despite offering to come in during an extremely early morning shift to clear out the stockroom and help unload the truck. I was then informed that several people complained about my attitude and, rather than coming to me so I could apologize and remedy the situation, the Bozeman store manager and the other employees (who she conveniently refused to name) had been talking about me behind my back, while this hypocritical crazy person (the store manager) claimed she didnt like to name names. This store whines and complains about being understaffed and then the store manager acts like a dictator and acts as if she doesnt understand why they lose good people.

I called in to see if they had muffin pans. Not wanting to waste a trip to the other side of town. I was transferred to a manager immediately who told me shortly that Id have to come in and check for myself. I called back after thinking the conversation over, because I didnt feel the request for information on stock was unreasonable. The same manager told me that because they were a treasure store, Id have to come in and check. I asked if that is the company policy. She said it was. Maybe it is company policy, and maybe they are really busy, but if I were working there and I had time or could find someone who did have time, I dont think it would be a violation of company policy to go take a look and make a sale. So if you view Ross as someone begrudgingly running someone elses yard sale--then cool, but Im buying muffin pans elsewhere; not out of spite, but to not waste a trip when someone who is standing less than 40ft away from the kitchen isle could have told me yes or no.

One of the rudest customer service experience I have ever had and any retail store was treated like a criminal for returning a gift. The extremely rude attendant advised us to try to find the receipt. After doing so and not receiving the receipt we came back and the return price had been dropped by 50% from when we talked the attended before. A $17.99 dress received $4for a return. The extremely rude attend it kept strutting her stuff around us making faces it was incredibly uncomfortable. Truly a poor experience.

This store has a fair selection. But in my opinion I think all the Ross stores have gone downhill. I have shopped Ross stores for 18 years. I have seen a decline in amount of merchandise and selection. But this store was neat and clean. Staff is nice. Some deals here to be found.
