The building itself is reasonably impressive; it has plenty of room to move around compared to other places and they use their space well. I personally rather like the layout of the place in general. They have a good selection, especially of pipe tobacco, though their cigar selection is average. Theyre one of the few that carry Djarum cloves. However, the service is rather poor. The staff have an air of highly unwarranted snobbishness and are very reluctant to answer questions about their merchandise since it seems beneath them. My friends and I came here a few times and all bought various tobacco supplies each time, but after the 3rd time we are never to return. We jokingly refer to it as "Stodgies" due to the general atmosphere and poor disposition of the various people manning the counter. There are other alternatives a relatively short distance away that have nearly as good a selection with vastly better staff that are both able and willing to explain simple things and engage in basic human conversation.

Had heard about this place before and finally got out there to check it out last weekend. Couldnt have been more impressed. Their humidor had the best selection I have seen in the state. All of the necessities and a bunch of limited run TAA stuff that nobody else has. The staff was very inviting and friendly. They have the best prices I have seen in the state and I have been to many other of the good local shops. They have a nice patio out front right on Grand Ave. for some fantastic people watching while you enjoy your cigar. Inside they had a great area for watching sports and smoking during the winter months. I was very impressed with Stogies on Grand as a whole and will for sure be back on a regular basis in the future. Only regret is I didnt get there sooner. I have been missing out.

Great shop! Definitely the best Cigar selection I have seen in the cities. Staff was Extremely knowledgeable, helpful but not pushy ( there is a lot to look at). They have a solid pipe and pipe tobacco selection. I guess they recently improved the filtration system, seemed pretty good for an old Victorian. Lots of great lounge areas. Regulars were nice, I am a female so I get attention in Cigar Shops. There is also a female staff person. I will be back. Not sure what the other reviewers were talking about? Not my experience. :)

This shop has a lot of personality and I think thats reflected in the reviews. Regardless of whether you like that, the staff is very knowledgeable and the selection is great. I once bought a stick with a bad wrapper that ruined the burn. I told the staff and was given a replacement immediately. The customers are from all walks of life and its a joy to just sit and chat with them, especially if a good game or Jeopardy is on the TV. I highly recommend this store for anyone looking for a relaxed getaway in a busy life.

Stogies is an old Cigar Shop. The main humidor has a good selection for its size, but its a bit on the humid side. I saw the Humidifier said it was 75% RH inside and thats a bit too high IMO. The premium cigar displays were better humidified. The store employees are nice and will have a laugh with you, but the store itself gets extremely smoky inside - it could do with some better ventilation. I definitely enjoyed myself there, and would go back.

Heard good things about it. However, I went there with my brother and they wouldnt let him in the store because he forgot his ID. Even after I showed my military ID and gave my word that my identical twin was of age (and also in the military), they threatened to "beat him with a bat" if he touched any of the cigars. Not sure if it was just a bad sense of humor, but it was a crappy experience overall. Poor customer service.

Was visiting the area and stopped by. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The humidor was filled with standard sticks as well as many interesting ones not found at my local shop in Houston. Since the weather was nice I sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon but inside is comfortable as well.

Incredible staff, very knowledgeable. You can definitely get whatever kind of cigar or pipe tobacco you might want! Youre also welcome to lounge and enjoy your purchase there at the store. Just be aware that, even if you drop by for a quick visit, you will leave reeking of cigar smoke.

Heaven for cigar aficionados. I could say a zillion things about Stogies on Grand. Stupendous building, great atmosphere, diverse and gigantic selection of properly humidified cigars. Whenever friends from out of town come visit me we come here.

A cool place to enjoy a fine cigar or to smoke your pipe. An excellent selection of cigars and tobacco.....expect to sit back, enjoy a good smoke and strike up a friendly conversation. Highly recommended!!!!!!
